My friend and I came to UC Berkeley for a meeting in the morning. We didn't have breakfast and were hungry. After parking, we saw this cozy place that served organic coffee and crepes. So we thought we try it and we are glad we did. The coffee is excellent! I can feel the effect immediately. It gave me the perk I needed. This tells me that I am drinking higher quality coffee. For me, I can use coffee as a sleeping aid so I know when the coffee is high quality. My friend had a panini. He loved it. I had the La Complete crepe without cheese. Came out bigger than I expected. The service was ok. The lady running the place was sweet. It was a one person show. You walk up to the counter to order and the same person cooks. She was very nice, but doesn't like to adjust the orders. She did eventually. The crepes were over cooked a bit dry and crispy instead of lite and spongy. The place has potential but fell short of a favorite hole in the wall. And I am a big fan of little hole in the wall places. Probably won't go back. read more

Ever since I had crepes from a French chef in Irvine, I always order crepes and am disappointed when they aren't as good- this place finally delivered! The owner is so kind and skilled at making the perfect crepe- the savory and sweet crepes each have unique batter perfect for each flavor. The orange and lemon crepes are both delicious, perfect balance of sweet and citrus with great texture. The savory crepe is also delicious and perfectly melty with a satisfying portion! There place feels very spacious and even on busy day, I imagine we can still see them making the crepes. There's a good amount of seating indoor and a couple outdoors Here's what she ordered and shared with me: ORGANIC CINNAMON - $5.50 Butter, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Sugar. Love how you get to watch them make it and yes every single ingredient listed was added. Even that dallop of butter that was thrown under all of it. I thought it was quite delicious for something so simple! Reasonably priced too! All Sweet crepes are made with organic white flower while all savory crepes are made with Organic 100% buckwheat flour. This place also has waffles! I first tried La crepe a moi (food truck version) at a summer festival on North Shattuck and liked it so much that I decided to visit their flagship restaurant. Every crepe is freshly made and you can taste it! I love that you can customize their crepes. I decided to add mushrooms to their baby spinach crepe which really kicked it up a notch. The caramelized onions were sweet and crunchy. The Swiss cheese was mild which allowed the other flavors shine. I especially liked the nutty, chewy texture of the buckwheat crepe. I would definitely get this again. The strawberry crepe was loaded with sweet n sour berries and oozing with Nutella. It was a great dessert after a savory crepe, but too decadent for me to eat myself though perfect to share with a friend :) There is ample indoor seating and two small outdoor tables which are perfectly situated to enjoy your meal while people watching on busy Euclid Avenue. They make *really* good crepes and I love that the batter is not overly sweet. Have also tried their Nutella & savory crepes and can attest they are good! Best crepe place I've been to while living in the Bay over 20 years! As a student, sometimes I only look forward to school when I know I will eat this after class. I highly recommend trying the nutella banana crepe and working your way up to farmer's crepe and then trying every crepe for itself. Stopped by their stand at the Orinda Farmer's Market on Saturday late morning. Had the ham and Swiss buckwheat crepe to go. On my way home my car smelled like a French creperie. It was a bit crispy and nutty on the outside with soft cheesy gooeyness (is that even a word?) on the inside with just the right amount of sweet & savory ham in the mix. The La Complete crepe was excellent and filling (and not too salty - see previous review). The service is very friendly and competent and having a French radio station playing from the kitchen let have me a pleasant chance to practice that language. I've looked at the bad reviews and they pertain to the outdoor market in Oakland, and are dated. The complaints therein are OBE - overtaken by events. I'm bummed to be writing this review because I love their crepes! I visited Crepe a Moi this afternoon and had a really unfortunate experience. I came by around 2 and was surprised to see how full it was inside, then realizing graduation season at Cal is underway and there are lots of families and friends I town to celebrate with graduates. I placed my order with the very kind cashier, and went to sit outside with my daughter and partner to wait for our crepe. After about 15 minutes, I went inside and kindly asked the cashier how much longer. I needed to know because we were on our way to yet another kids birthday party and could not wait much longer. I was expecting nothing but a response to my question, "how much longer?". Instead, the crepe maker and person in charge, visibly and vocally expressed their displeasure with me, and mouthed to their staff that I just needed to wait. I then simply told the cashier that I wanted a refund. And that pissed them off even more. They then again said I needed to wait, as her two staff could not open register for refund. They looked at me exasperated and said, I can just make your crepe now? I declined and insisted on the refund. Which they gave me along with whatever frustration had brought them to react like that. And you know what's worse? I had tipped generously when I had paid for my food - ahead of product and service rendered . I tipped to have their crepe maker treat me like that. WTF? read more
