First of all the crêpes are very crispy and flavorful! We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday morning, and everything was inviting and classically set up in the restaurant. You do have to go up to the counter, place an order and take a number but they do deliver to your table and continue to check on you throughout your meal. The next time I came by here to try again, it was during the mid-morning and my fiancé and I sat on the outdoor tables in front with some food she grabbed nearby. Before I could get up and get coffee and order some food, an older man who was smoking near us (already a huge bummer to eat near that) apparently associated with this place, pretty rudely told us to move from the table because it was only for Crepe Pan customers. They were completely empty except maybe one table, and it's no wonder why. Because of the man's attitude and my previously poor experience, I was instantly put off from giving the place another try and we finished our food sitting on a low wall about a foot away from the table we had been at. I'm actually not a crepe person. I've never had one from here (LOL), but the rest of the menu is really delicious and keeps me coming back. I've been here a number of times with my husband and am never disappointed. It's a great spot for a lowkey brunch or lunch. They have seating both indoors and outside which makes for a nice open airy atmosphere. The staff is nice and your order comes out pretty quickly. The menu is extensive so there's literally something for everybody. During this visit I ordered the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict: perfectly poached egg, rich & luscious cajun hollandaise sauce that is seasoned nicely but not at all spicy (I wish it were though - I love spice). The crab cake is well made with a crispy edges and tons of crab. It comes with a generous side of potatoes that are tasty when dressed up with a little hot sauce and ketchup. My husband ordered the lox bagel which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. They make it a full meal with fries and a salad so you definitely get the bang for your buck. Edgar was really nice for our first visit. He helped us decide between two entrees. Went with his recommendation of the Parmesan chicken sandwich which was really good. After reading the extensive menu, I ordered the Florentine crepe with the Safari Cooler. The crepe was truly the star of the meal with loads of fresh spinach, nicely sautéed with mushrooms. What put it over the top was the caramelized onions. The salad was a little gritty and the potatoes had a burnt flavor. I liked that the Safari cooler wasn't as sweet as it's been in the past because of the addition of lime but it was a little too icy and diluted. I'm guessing now that it's not part of the Crepevine chain that the owners have more free rein in determining the menu. But at least from my recollection, the menu doesn't look that different. Even the chalkboard menu looked identical. That didn't bother me because I don't mind another lunch option that looked familiar. Their standard offering of crepes, sandwiches, and salads worked for me. I went for the small $10.25 Athena Salad. We came here because it was the closest option next to the movie theater before the show. We were the only patrons at 6pm on a Friday which was odd. We orderdd the chicken bacon sandwich (their signature) and a crepe with nutella, strawberry and banana. The sandwich has 3 layers (like there's a 3rd piece of bread in the middle). It's the only thing we enjoyed. The meal comes with potatoes and we got country fried - crispy. They came out burnt and super hard to chew. The cook also went heavy on the rosemary! It came with a salad tossed with vinaigrette. First off there was more salad than potatoes which I didn't expect. And the salad was old, not fresh or crunchy. I like salads and this was dismal. I'd love to come back and try something else on the menu. Maybe it was an off day for them but I didn't really enjoy the food. The service was ok. We got the crepe and it was soft, not crunchy. I chose the goat cheese, but there wasn't enough cheese inside to fill part of the omelette. The ham slice inside the omelette was burned around the edges and overcooked. Holy crepe! Miam! This place has been such a solid outdoor dining option during COVID. I've been here twice during this never ending pandemic story, and both times were absolutely wonderful experiences. They have plenty of covered outdoor seating for you and yours + them and theirs + any doggies that like to brunch. The ordering is done at a counter inside and then they provide a limited version of table service after ordering to the outdoor tables. Very pandemic friendly. I'm a big fan of crepes in general, but these are especially good, y'all. Their sweet crepes are incredible. The savory crepes come with a huge helping of fries and a side salad, which are actually really good as well. One savory crepe plate is usually enough for two, but you NEED both a sweet and a savory so just get two and split them. Don't let yourself be bullied into just splitting one. They have a huge menu, so it's worth giving this place a shot even if you don't like crepes/ can't eat gluten, etc. They have a long list of sandwich, salad, pasta, and drank options. There are plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options as well. This would be a great option if you have any picky eaters in your troupe. The only downside is that parking can be a little tricky, but (normally) you can find a street parking spot somewhere close by if you patrol the area for a few minutes. Best breakfast I've found in this neighborhood. There is lots of food for a fair price. I had a corned beef hash with egg on top. Yummm I was there on a weekday, and there were only 2 other customers. ****I want my tip back die to poor service****. In all fairness, one orders at the counter, and they bring it to you. But there were 3 workers out front plus the cook. The older lady visited me once but forgot to bring the water I requested, so I went to the counter and got it with no acknowledgment of forgetting. She appeared to be the manager. Then I wanted a box for the extra food (portions are large, thank you). I waved to the server, but she didn't see me. I raised my hand again. She asked the other customer if she wanted a box, but not me. Interestingly, the other customer was a different race than I. So, I got my own box from the servers stand. As soon as I put on my coat, the server was right there bussing my table. Where was she before? This place collects the tip when you order at the counter. The wood interior is naturally pleasant. The ordering process is simple, and servers bring my order to whichever table I choose. Sometimes groups eat here and make the vibe exciting. I can plug my laptop in while I'm dining (specific seating for AC). Plenty of outdoor patio seating is at the entrance. The owner is wonderful too. That might account for so many conscientious employees; from the order takers to the cooks that create fresh meals. Parking on the street is generally available. My recommendation is parking in the paid lot, or free curb parking on adjacent streets. Local meter maids are relentless to put it mildly. The menu is filled with a variety for any appetite, and any time if day (or night). Drinks include adult beverages, to hot chocolate, and everything in between. There is flare.
