    Lumpia Shanghai, 5 pcs, $10 – 4 Stars
    Eva M.

La Dive in Cap Hill is technically more bar than food, though I did hear both bar and food are good. We went specifically because we heard they are doing a Filipino food pop-up. The place is pleasantly roomy with an artistic mural on the wall. This is a chill and hang out bar, not a sports bar. We scored a table by the window and ordered our food at the bar. They bring the food to us. Service was simple and courteous. The staff is surprisingly chill and having fun with each other. Good for them! Parking is street only. The Food: Lumpia Shanghai, 5 pcs, $10 - 4 Stars Theirs is a simpler content with seemingly pork only. Traditional recipes often have water chestnut so I can taste a hint of crunch. The meat must have shrunken from the ends, so the two ends are wrap only. Not an ideal lumpia shanghai but satisfying if one is craving for it. We though the price was very reasonable. Lugaw, $18 - 2 Stars Menu: Rice porridge with egg and calamansi This dish is puzzling. We are familiar with arroz caldo, the Filipino chicken rice porridge. I knew this won't be flavored with chicken. I expected more flavor, period. The calamansi was far too subtle. The black garlic and the fried shallots weren't enough to flavor the rice. It looks like it has more flavor than it is. The best part of this dish is the egg. For $18, it was also a surprisingly small serving. Disappointing.

The vibes of this little wine dive bar are great! I came into this place after a night out in cap hill for a night cap and it was a wonderful way to end the night! It is a small and intimate bar, but great for chatting with friends at the end of a night. I got the jack rose slushie and their seasoned goldfish crackers. The jack rose slushie was tasty, but very strong if you enjoy stronger drinks. The prices were reasonable here too. The service was great and this was just a nice neighborhood bar to pop into if you want a drink with a friend!

La Dive is a great place to go for wine and food. The service is friendly and as other reviews noted, it has great vibes. The wine list is not long, but excellent. I had three different reds and they were all outstanding. My friend tried a rose and also an orange wine. The rose looked like a red, but was really good and then the orange wine was a surprise. We were really pleased with the food also. We started with the farmers cheese and herbs. Very simple, but very nice. Cheese matched wine very well. We also had the crispy spiced beef pancake. I am not sure how to describe this, but it was really tasted. It is definitely a crisp, flaky crust with the beef on the inside very nicely flavored. Then I had the patty melt while my friend had a kielbasa sandwich. The patty melt was also excellent--burger could have been cooked a little less for my preference, but great flavors and loved the rye. Then my friend absolutely loved the kielbasa, her favorite. Fun place, great food and drinks, definitely worth a visit.

    Gnocci w mushroom and pancetta

Long time La Dive fan following up with latest reviews! Went in today and was delightfully greeted with a free christmas photobooth as part of a wine pop up~ was also delighted with expanded slushie menu and holiday special cocktails! You can never go wrong with La Dive's options, service and ambiance (including their red light bathroom). I love the way they curate their food menu regularly to keep it interesting (like when they had nongshim shin ramen cup). Today i tried their pancetta and mushroom gnocci however, while the gnocci pieces were great with a little char, the overall dish was extremely dry! The mushroom and pancetta had lost all its moisture, chewing them was like chewing on a ribbon and tough to my teeth. Thankfully the water chestnut pieces helped balance out the rest of the dish by 10%. Im not sure if it was an off day but if the quality persists, unfortunately i would never get another gnocchi from here again!

    Frozen pool party slushie

My coworker recommended this place to me and wow, I am impressed. There are so many things to choose from but only so much alcohol tolerance, as he recommended the slushie and the pet nat, and I also saw a relatively unique drink that is the chambong that I also wanted to get. I settled for the slushie this time, as I heard it is very strong. It is strong enough to get a standard person tipsy, for only $12 + tax/tip, which is much cheaper than a standard cocktail that one may need more than one. I got the frozen pool party specifically (vinho verde, white rum, lime). The slushie is somewhat sweet but is very spiked as it is bitter - your mileage may vary with how you enjoy it. It is somewhat simplistic but value is great if you are aiming to get a little drunk for the night. This is definitely bar-like as you simply order at the front and seat yourself, rather than a host(ess) seat you in despite the fact there is table seating. It has been a while since I have been to these types of bars in Capitol Hill! Next time I will definitely try the chambongs and then pet nat as it looks pretty and a lot of fun.

Overpriced, small portions, yet another chapter in the gentrification of Seattle. Atmosphere is cramped, incredibly loud, and poorly run.

Came here the past couple Fridays to get my weekend started and closing out a work week. The…read moreambiance here is intimate and the music isn't too loud which is great while sipping some beers. There are several beers and some ciders on tap from all around and all the ipa's I've tried here have been pretty decent. from there you grab your brew and have a seat at high top tables within the tap room. Again, the setting is mid-sized good for a couple groups of four and a few two person tables. Music is at a decent volume and is lit dimly making it decent for a date spot or just a place to have conversation without raised voices. Fridges line the tap room so you can mix and match beers, ciders and wines to take out which is cool. I like Bottleworks, I want to enjoy it more, but there are some issues holding me to 3 stars. The staff are...alright. Not bad, but I feel could be a little friendlier. Also they don't allow sample pours? This is a common thing at most breweries, but maybe it's because this is a tap room, but beers run a bit higher here - $8-9 a pour so that's annoying that you can't even try a couple. Lastly, they rotate things out it seems weekly. Some of the more popular options I suppose they keep but seems like a lot of turn around on the drinks so if you like something they have on tap, don't get too attached. Perhaps on subsequent visits It will improve, and I can boost the score here, but besides the decent beers and setting, it's just OK here.

One of the best bottle shops in the country!…read more I've had many of Bottleworks' anniversary beers in the past because they always team up with stellar breweries to make them.. but before today I have never visited the famous shop. It's smaller than I imagined it to be but every beer inside, from the draft list to the cans and the bottles are carefully curated by the staff. We grabbed a quick beer (Hill Farmstead, which is the first time I've seen this brewery for sale in the since I started this trip 6 weeks ago and Ive been through 4 states) Then we shopped for some cans, we quickly had to refrain from buying too much as the refrigerator in our van only holds so much. We ended up with a six pack and then grabbed a mystery 4 pack on the way out (mystery 4 pack was stellar). While we're shopping they opened a sour from Jester King and shared it with us. I honestly wish I lived a bit closer (Las Vegas is kinda far) because I'd be here everyday... Honestly, they have a whole cooler just for barley wine! The staff are very knowledgeable about beer and are very hospitable. Thanks for a great experience!

Their tap list rotates frequently, but they have a large selection which means there's usually something for everyone. My one wish is that you could sample before committing. My go-to order is a bacon grilled cheese, but I remove the smoky aioli & ask for a side of serrano pepper jelly to dip it in instead. But everything on their menu is good, including their specials which change maybe every few months or so. Most recently we came in last night around ~7:20p w/ a group of 9 & were quickly seated at the big picnic table. Despite closing at 9p, the server let us order a monster cookie right as the kitchen was closing & let us stay a bit longer to finish our drinks/meals while they were closing up, letting us know we didn't need to rush. It was appreciated & even with a big group toward end of the evening, drinks & food all came out fast.
