My husband and I stopped by here on our way back to Seattle after visiting B.C. and our server was wonderful. Very pleasant, attentive, and fun. Unfortunately our food was...odd. We split spaghetti and meatballs and it tasted strange, like the spices weren't right and something unusual was being used. I couldn't find any garlic in the dish, and I'm not sure they used basil at all because I couldn't identify that either. The noodles were well cooked but we were really disappointed by the sauce and meatballs. I hope maybe it was just an off night, because the décor was GORGEOUS and no restaurant should be empty at 7pm but for two people passing through. Everything about the restaurant seemed perfect -- décor, service, even bathrooms... But the food really would benefit from a second glance at the recipes. read more

Absolutely horrible service where do i start! My girlfriend and I along with a friend thought it seemed like a cute little place. We arrived at 730pm ordered two pizzas to share. Was served adequately however coffee tasted like it was a day old. We waited 25 minutes at which point i asked server how long? She replied "he makes pizza from scratch " i'm like look it should not take half hour we were only one party of two in whole restaurant! Being annoyed and very hungry i stepped out for a cigarette. Came back in at this point 45 minutes have passed! i came to table and found my girlfriend and friend eating a salad something that looked like out of a bag! I asked them where is our pizza!? My girlfriend replied waitress said they got burnt!!!!! At this point i went right up to server and asked her for free dinner that this is unacceptable she replied did you want to cancel your order!? i replied hell ya and i will never be back! At which point i walked out of restaurant with my company. If i could give this place no stars i would don't waste your time with this dive. Expensive as well. read more

I stopped by this place on my way home to kamloops from Vancouver last year, my usual go to is Home restaurant down the street, as it is for many people because there is always a line out the door. Since I didn't want to wait for the line I decided to try this restaurant. I'm Italian myself, and my mother and grandmother make very good Italian food, even so I'm not very picky, I just wanted something cheesy and filling. I ordered a ravioli dish, and I waited about 30-35 minutes for my food (even though the restaurant was empty). The food was put down on the table by a very uninterested waitress, although I don't blame her, she must of been bored out of her mind with such an empty restaurant. So now that I am starving and excited to have some pasta, I dig in and am welcomed by thin flavourless sauce that could have been substituted with water and I would have never noticed, and pathetic ravioli's with the same flavor profile, that also had a nice touch of being stone cold on the inside. I told the waitress about my complaint and she said that she would let the chef know, as she turned around she rolled her eyes. At this point I had only taken two bites, so I decided to get up and leave. I would not normally write a review like this, but I had to let everyone know that this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to, and I don't really understand how you could possibly give this place any higher than a 1 star rating. But if you're in the mood for waiting a long time for cold, bland food, then this is the place to go. But hey, the decor was nice. read more

I went there with my bf on 7/19 and wouldn't recommend it. He had spaghetti beef meatballs and I a chicken sandwich. The sandwich was too dry, had red soggy cabbage on it with roasted peppers. Fries where too crispy and tasteless. Prices are too high for what appeared to be fast food. Service was great. read more

Went in for late lunch at 2:10pm was given a menu and our drinks was then told at 2:14pm that they are closing from 230-4 for a break ! Not a single person in. The restaurant other then us If your closing within 20 mins of our arrival why would you even offer a menu ? Also what about our food ? It's rushed and now forced to put in a box ? If I wanted take out I would have ordered it Not impressed And the service! She acted like she knew us for 20 years and didn't need to be professional, wa a simple yup or nope answer! Good salads before main course. Wife's penne dish was delicious, but my veal parm. order never made it to chef. So I had a double wait time. My meal came 25 minutes late and was not good, very dry. Forgot our water. Had ask for silverware. Bread toast not good. They did manage to get the bill right. 26 dollar veal parm. was not worth half the price. read more

First time I've been here. Arrived at 730, so supper rush has died down to 2 tables. Waitress (possibly owner) when setting our table handled our silverware by the eating end, not the handle. Got water when we sat down but after waiting for awhile i ended up getting the table menus. Then after waiting again and not having a drink order taken or anything I asked everyone if this seems normal or are we just being ignored. We waited a little longer then got up and left, passing the Waitress who looked at us but didn't question what we were doing as if to say she to agreed that we had bad service and shouldn't put up with it. Severely overpriced menu. The restaurant itself is quite nice on the inside, ordered the gnocci with four cheese sauce and I was underwhelmed with the lack of flavour. Not a hint of cheese from the four supposed cheeses in the sauce, or even seasoning. Mostly doused in butter and less than a pinch of basil on top. Probably wont be going back anytime soon. read more

Camping in the area came for dinner. A little over priced and from the outside looked like it has just opened because it only had a banner sign up but overheard they have been open for 5 years. Place was empty. Need to put up a more professional sign like you are going to stick around maybe? Food was good though. Spaghetti was delicious and pizza was good too. Yelp brought me to this place the other evening. I'll keep this short. Train your waitresses! We were driving thru spending the night in Hope. We did not order alcohol and maybe that was our problem. We were never told the specials until after we overheard the next table of guys with beer hearing it. We had to ask once we placed our order. Once our dinner arrived we were not offered cracked pepper or grated cheese.. The guys table was! And we were not offered dessert and the guys table was. Now if I had wanted any of these extras I certainly could have asked, but when it is blatantly offered 4 feet away, it makes you wonder, is she was just new or thinks our tip wouldn't be big enough anyways becuz we ordered tea? Overpriced for the quality of the food. Both our dishes looked the same, the beef cannelloni and the beef lasagna, in a 1960s ramekin. Baked to smithereens. Our dishes tasted like old ground beef that was bland. What I expected was a wonderful rich beef ragu rolled tightly in pasta with herbed ricotta. My son's veal schnitzel was overcooked and deep fried, instead of gently pan fried. The Alfredo sauce was watery, tasteless and broken. When our waitress offered us Parmesan, it came out dry and clumpy as if from a can. We were expecting fresh Parmesan grated on a microplane, especially for the prices. Garlic bread was average at best. Service was average. read more

When I stopped in to La Dolce Vita it was a very cold August night and I was cold and hungry. My favourite dish is penne with a pesto sauce but they didn't have it on the menu. I ordered the soup of the day with a Caesar salad and asked about the pesto. The hostess said they could make it for me if I liked even though it was not on the menu. I was happy that they were that flexible and of course I ordered it. It was the best pesto I had ever had...a heavy, creamy concoction loaded with cheese and basil. Absolutely delicious....the only thing was, the soup and salad were so large I was full by the time the pesto arrived and ended up taking most of it home with me. The soup was a tomato based broth that night, and it was amazing. I couldn't identify the ingredients, but it tasted like some kind of sausage had been used for flavouring. It was superb. The Caesar salad was also good, very light on the oil, lemon was just right, and extra Parmesan was provided with the fresh ground pepper. I highly recommend this restaurant. It was a very good meal in every respect, the service was top notch, professional, and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. The washroom was spotless, too. I have been back once since then and the second visit was just as good. It's been a long time since I have had such a satisfying dining experience. Five Stars! read more

Food is fine, but we thought it was expensive for the quality. Service wasn't great, one person for the entire restaurant.

Not sure what all the hub bub is about. We had an excellent meal. Pizza, steak panini, chicken schnitzel. No complaints.
