Their drink is amazing! Bartender make really good cocktail. I got the enclosed patio seat it was nice to enjoy the holiday lighting decoration outside and seeing the sunset view at the same time. I got salad and fries. Like the dressing of the salad. Fries were a bit saltier side but it was good. Service was great. they kept checking with us about the food and drinks/water. Food price is a bit expensive but considering it's touristic place/near hot spring resort, it is understandable.

I stopped by for a lunch here with a group and everyone enjoyed their food! I haven't had schnitzel often but this was one of the best I've had! The portions were large and the sauces were really good! The escargot was also perfectly buttery and garlicky. Definitely recommend the sauerkraut and the bratwurst, but schnitzel was the true star of the show!

During a short trip at the Harrison hot springs resort, my partner and I wanted to have some schnitzel. This restaurant has outdoor seating with a wonderful view of the lake & mountains! I had to sit inside, because my allergies were wildly acting up. We ordered the schnitzel with mushrooms and goulash soup. I really enjoyed the schnitzel - perfectly crispy, yet the meat was still tender inside. I didn't love the white sauce on top because it was slightly sour, but eating it all together with the schnitzel and mushrooms were good. The potato hash on the side was heavenly and so flavourful. Potatoes are great. The goulash was good too! It tasted very homey and it helped to relax me from my allergies lol. The bread on the side was delicious. This place really excels with their carbs!

Beach side location in Harrison Hot Springs. The place does remind you of old Germany with its decor. Ordered the Schnitzel and Sausage. It was crunchy, good portion. Potatoes were tender and the vegetables were nicely blanched. Sausage was on the small side but I can appreciate the homemade taste. Service was good. Plenty of parking outside if you go on a weekend. Scenery was beautiful. Worth a check.

Black Forest Restaurant in Harrison Hot Springs is more than just a restaurant, it's a culinary journey through time. The service was great and the food was so delicious. The ambiance was good too. We booked a table here for dinner. We ordered Lentil Soup, Goulash Soup, Pork Hock, and Vienna Schnitzel. All was soooo yummy. and famous Chocolate Mousse

Ended up going to this restaurant twice during my time at Harrison for small meals. First: dinner with champignon schnitzel and goulash soup. Second: lunch with seafood and white sauce spaetzle and potato pancakes. The soup was just okay for me. It was hearty and good, but it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. They also only give you a pittance of three tiny sliced pieces of baguette.. Yummy slices though! The schnitzel was on point. Crispy and tender. The mushrooms and bearnaise sauce paired well. The red cabbage was soft and slightly pickled. The fried potatoes were so delicious. Slightly crispy, perfectly salted, and soft for my soft mouth. However, the vegetables were sad -- bland and hard. It was my first time having spaetzle, and it was delicious. LOTS of tiny shrimps, two scallops, and some squid tentacles. The spaetzle itself had a nice crisp. Sauce was great. This was my favourite dish from here. The potato pancake was equally good, but too small for the price. It's not good enough to get again for that much. It's like a hashbrown patty, but the potato is grated more fine, and it's more soft than crispy. I didn't like the sauce it came with too much -- it had a sour tinge to it which I don't like. Service both days were amazing. Although, the dinner server I had was too pushy for my liking. It's a very quiet restaurant -- to be expected in a quiet town.

The Black Forest Steak & Schnitzel Restaurant in Harrison Hot Springs is a fine dining restaurant serving authentic German cuisine. Schnitzels, pork hock, bratwurst, goulash with spaetzle and strudels. They also serve seafood, steak and rack of lamb. Service is friendly. Family owned and operated since 1975 in Harrison Hot Springs, only 10 km off Highway # 1. Highly recommend it for a delicious meal in a classy setting for any time of day or night.

THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!! I loved the schnitzel, it was absolutely delicious. We got a cheesecake for dessert and it was also very good! Our server was very sweet and if we needed something, she brought it out fast. I deducted 1 star because of where we were initially seated. We were seated right beside the bathrooms; I understand if the restaurant was full, but the inside was empty.

What an amazing experience at a fantastic German Restaurant in Harrison. Met up with some good friends and they recommended this place. i've always seen it through the yrs but never tried. Inside, the place can accommodate huge groups as well. Very homey and gives you a german atmosphere. Music and paintings and furniture...a bit outdated but nostalgic. But the food...oh yes...absolutely amazing! Had the pork hock and schitzel burger. Pork hock came as a whole piece. Just like what they roast at the german markets during xmas time. Skin was crispy and crackling...the meat was oh so tender and juicy. As you slice it, you can see the juices flowing out. Such superior handling skills. Can complete with sauerkraut, fried potatoes and steamed veggies. So goood! The schnitzel sandwich was good too. The schnitzel was perfectly seasoned and Lightly breaded. Nicely shaped and fried and juicy and crispy and moist. Was not dry at all. Came with twice fried fries which were seasoned perfectly. Service was quick and attentive. I enjoyed myself immensely. Some of my friends swear the home made sausage was amazing too. Next time im there, i will repeat for sure! Its worthy of another go. Puts many german restaurants to shame in vancouver. Quality and value cant be beat. Yes, maybe a bit pricey for lunch fare, but they make it up for quality. I also had a pint of german beer! So refreshing on a hot day! Perfect meal pairings! Lots of other german fares to be had like potato pancakes, bratwurst, etc. Cheers! Happy eating!

Such a wonderful place we had a enclosed patio seat facing the view Food was excellent and service was amazing Desiree and her team do a great job

There was a nice feel to the room as it was not too loud. A great ambiance. We were given our choice of a couple of tables when we arrived. The service was okay. For appetizers my husband had the goulash soup and I had Hunter Spatzle. My husband said his soup was not as flavourful as he was expecting. My spatzle was supposed to have a mushroom gravy on it but there was not much gravy and the spatzle was not well drained. For entrees my husband had zigeuner schnitzel and I had the sole with baby shrimp and Riesling sauce. The schnitzel is very thin as opposed to the thicker cuts that are served at most Bavarian restaurants that we have gone to. It was very tender but my husband was disappointed with his meal as he prefers the thicker piece of pork. The sauce was just all tomatoes and he said it was very bland and not very interesting. My sole was good but not exceptional. We were going to have dessert but by the time our server came to ask if we wanted dessert we had lost interest. It is a beautiful room, the prices are average but overall we found the food was not to our liking. The ladies washroom was out of toilet paper. Awkward.

The potatoes on the side were made with German speck and taste exactly as I knew them. The portions were hearty and we all cleared our plates without question. While there's no dedicated children's menu, a standard schnitzel should satisfy most kids palates, mine loved the spaezel and the charcuterie board was devoured by adults and children alike. The breads are very European, such as rye. Not for everyone, but fresh and tasty. What I really appreciated here was the owner making his rounds, having conversations with his regulars, making new customers feel welcomed and keeping traditions alive. You don't get that so often anymore, it's more about creativity, fusion, new, ratings etc. This was a traditional experience with delicious food and I will definately be back. However, when I came back again after all this time, I realized that you pay for quality food and fine dining. When I arrived, I was given a table right away and was served water. I ordered the 6-ounce Beef Wellington, which I never had before anywhere. Prior to my entrée, I was given a small hamburger soup and a piece of garlic bread for an appetizer. It was a solid good warm-up for what was to come. The entrée came with vegetables and potato of choice that I chose mashed potatoes. The vegetables were surprisingly good, while the mashed potatoes were flourishing with flavour. The wellington came with a béarnaise sauce and demi-glace, and they were fantastic condiments to help compliment the entrée. The wellington itself was great; it was cooked medium-rare, which was recommended by the waitress Danielle, the beef steak was juicy and delectable while the pastry part stands out with its mushroom aioli in flavour. The service was excellent, and I commend their positive efforts. The interior of the restaurant is traditional, yet very classy and mildly lit, which I like in a restaurant. Overall, the Bavaria restaurant is an outstanding establishment with that is very much worth your interest. I hope to come back there very soon.

The menu selection was huge....too much to choose from in my opinion. We all received a bowl of Bavaria goulash soup to start which was actually quite tasty. I had a warm pretzel as well which was also quite nice. I ordered a schnitzel special with lobster and the others with me opted for steaks. I was expecting a schnitzel covered in a creamy sauce with chunks of lobster. What I got was a dry schnitzel with 6 tiny morsels of lobster overcooked in an oily cheese/garlic mix in a separate dish. It wasn't very appealing. I won't speak for the others as they seemed to enjoy their food - beef Wellington, NY steak and prawns, and schnitzel with sausage. When done with the meal it took forever to find our waitress to pay. Turns out she went on a break.... The restaurant is located on the top floor of an older building with no access for those with disabilities. The atmosphere was more like a sports bar with big screen TVs all over and a lounge style area in front of a bar. Not what I would expect for a steakhouse... Probably wouldn't go back....
