Oy! We had the three crisp tacos. I specifically asked our server if they included tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. He said yes to all. These tacos had NO CHEESE! I have never been served a taco with no cheese. There was a small amount of meat at the bottom, a scatter of lettuce, and a light drizzle of sour cream. Not satisfying. The service was less than stellar, to be generous. Really, a pathetic excuse for a taco. read more

Had a family lunch at La Doña. When we first arrived, there weren't many people. However the place quickly filled up. Liked all of the food, except the desserts. That's why I'm giving this restaurant four stars instead of five stars. There was only one person taking and delivering the orders. At first she was able to check up on us. But soon, as the restaurant filled up, she was overwhelmed. If the desserts were to my liking, and if there were more servers, this would have been a 5 star experience. My mom and grandchildren said the food was too spicy for them. But I love spicy food, so overall, everything (except the desserts) was good. The tamales were a little dry. Maybe they were microwaved instead of steamed. The flan was firm and not creamy like I usually like it. The banana dessert was hard. read more

We stopped at a charming town in Chehalis while driving home on 5Fwy northbound. We decided to dine at La Doña for dinner, and we were amazed by the orders we selected: Chicken Mole Verde and Pipian Verde Chicken. The sauces were smooth, the chicken was tender, and the thick, soft, fresh-cooked tortilla were all delicious! The atmosphere is family-oriented and excellent hygienic practices. So glad we came here! From the moment we walked in until we left, our experience was above and beyond. The food was excellent and lots of it. It's small inside so once word gets out, it'll be hard to get a seat. I got the Carne Enchilada combo plate and although not what I was expecting, it was delicious. I could only get through half before I was full. Leftovers were just as good the next day. My honey and my kid got burritos and said they were delicious as well. We will be back for more. This is a treasure in Chehalis. Delicious, freshly prepared Mexican food. Cheerful staff, very clean and great atmosphere. Husband and I have only been there twice, so far. Both times we have been so happy with our meals. Tacos the first time, carne asada for Tom, and lengua for me. The carne asada was abundant, freshly cooked and so delicious. Served simply on fresh, soft corn tortillas. Sprinkled with chpooed fresh onion and cilantro. Delicious. My lengua tacos, soooo delicious. The lengua was tender and perfectly delicious, obviously long-cooked and seasoned perfectly. On our return yesterday, Tom tried the carne asada burrito, it was wonderful. Packed with lots of carne asada, rice and beans. He has a BIG appetite and could only manage to eat half of it! Had the other half for dinner ! I had the lengua tacos again, sooooo delicious. I can not say enough good things about the delicious food served at this restaurant. Very unique from the other Mexican type restarants and very original with selections that you won't find elsewhere in the whole area and beyond. I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this place! You won't be sorry. It's small but so welcoming and authentic. I did notice that they seem to do a great carry-out business as people coming to pick up orders was almost continual while I was there. Happened to stop by here when we were camping near Chehalis and needed a place for a quick lunch. I ordered the Carne Asada combo plate, my husband ordered the Chile Colorado and we ordered a crunchy beef taco with beans for the kiddo. The waitress was very friendly and checked on us several times throughout the meal. My husband stated that the Chile Colorado was the best he had ever had. He said the depth of flavor of the sauce was incredible. My Carne Asada was really flavorful despite the beef being very thin and the rice and beans were delicious. The star of my meal was the homemade corn tortillas. They were thick and soft and the perfect vessel for wrapping up the Carne Asada and accoutrements. My kiddo absolutely loved his crunchy taco and ended up asking for a second and actually ate 2 entire tacos. He said the restaurant deserved a hundred stars. The tacos had a perfectly crispy taco shell and very flavorful beef that wasn't overly greasy as restaurant crunchy tacos can be. We will definitely swing by again anytime we are driving through the area. read more

I was blown away by the food here. Nearly everything is handmade and delicious. I ordered an asada quesadilla expecting the standard, thick cheese-meat-tortilla concoction. I was very pleasantly surprised when it was something quite different. The tortilla--handmade and delicious. The inside--not overly cheesy and oily like every other quesadilla I've ever had. The filling was balanced and fresh, with shredded lettuce and sprinkled with cotija. The asada was especially flavorful, and tender, not bland or tough like nearly every other Mexican restaurant. While the prices aren't the cheapest, they're reasonable in 2024. Considering the quality and healthiness of the food, it's a good value. Even the horchata was the best I've ever had. Handmade chips and salsa are included as an appetizer too--yum. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a meal here--it's one of the best restaurants in the area. read more

This place would have a line out the door in the extremely competitive San Francisco Bay Area. The food and service here is fantastic. The money that is in the hills of Chehalis need to keep this place in business. The price is a bit higher than some others but the difference is worth it.
