This place is simply delicious! We were walking by from getting boba when we got a whiff of what can only be described as sweet spicy! We walked in and it was clean and inviting. There was only one person working that day and she was incredibly friendly. We got an apple cinnamon and a pinadelphia a sweet and creamy empanada filled with cream cheese! My personal favorite was that one and they heated it up so the cream cheese was so soft! We got a few of us all try to and we all loved them. Wow this is way better than anticipated! So right now there is terrible construction going on right in front of the store so it is not easy to maneuver into the parking area, but it is well worth it. They have many choices of fillings that are beautifully wrapped in a delicious pastry and branded on the top so you know what is what. My favorite was the hamburger in the big, round empanada crust. My other favorite was the pineapple- not overly sweet like the ones you get at a bakery- this was just right. The price seems steep at over $4 for an empanada, but they are much larger than the small ones at some restaurants. Everything I got was so good. Delicious empanadas. I got a combo with 3 empanadas, one sauce and one drink and I paid a bit over $11. The first one I had was the beef habanero. The beef was good and the habanero gave it a nice kick. Not overly spicy at all. Perfect balance. The humita is vegetarian and it was good. The chimichurri sauce is oil with vinegar and spices like oregano. It is a traditional Argentinian sauce. Good choice for the beef habanero empanada. The third one was the pinadelphia, it has chunks of pineapple with Philadelphia cheese but I expected more filling. It is not overly sweet, so a good way to finish to my meal. Glad I was on the west side of town to be able to stop here. Even though i live on the east side, I will be making special trips to get me some empanadas. Good food! So you have to be really into empanadas. They do have several different types of sweet and regular food ones. My wife and I tried the dessert ones. I had the Piñadelphia. I liked it. The dough flavor is really good; the filling was pretty good but I feel like the fruit should be mashed a little more and a little bit more cream cheese. My wife had the Leche Quemada. She really liked it. I tasted a tiny bite and it was pretty good. They have a bit bigger menu when you go to the place but the ONLY gripe I have is that the empanadas are not big at all. I figured for $3.69 each it would be a little bigger. I would pay 2.50 for them. I will go back to try the other ones but not something I would get often. read more

On Christmas Eve, my family and I decided to go out for dinner even though it wasn't planned and after trying 3 restaurants that we had called ahead to confirm they were open but in fact said they were closing early, we accidentally came across this place and let me tell you, best accidental find EVER! We got a wide variety of their empanadas to try everything and I loved that they stamp on the top the initials of what you order. Makes splitting everything so easy. My kids and husband loved the chorizo, Buffalo chicken and the pepperoni empanadas. I didn't even get a chance to try them because they are them so fast lol. Super good! The empanadas kind of reminded me of the ones grandma makes in the fall. She usually makes camote or sweet potato and pumpkin. Both sweet potato and pumpkin taste similar to me. Anyway...I ordered four empanadas. The leche quemada empanada (burnt milk) sort of reminded me of a sweet potato/pumpkin one. It was really tasty. Keep in mind I'm not really a pumpkin or sweet potato fan unless it's inside empanadas (empanadas are somewhat similar to turnovers). It wasn't what I was expecting but it was still great tasting. For some reason, I thought it would be more like tres leches, meaning milkier and sweeter. I don't know why I was thinking of that! Note to self: Tres leches and leche quemada are two different things. The dough tasted really fresh and savory in each of them. I liked that very much. I also enjoyed the crunch in every bite I took. I ordered a pepperoni and cheese, along with a philly cheesesteak. I liked both of these. The only thing I didn't like about the cheesesteak was that it had too many tiny, chopped up onions inside of it. The meat had a great taste. Bland anything was out of the question with these empanadas. I also got a Nutella empanada but I haven't tasted it yet. I'll probably warm it up and eat it later on. Three are in Mexico (Chihuahua) and one is here. The customer service was great. The young lady who was helping me out was really friendly and helpful. I told her it was my first time visiting. She told me they offer specials/promotions everyday except for Saturday. The day I went, it was 10 percent off my order. That's pretty cool! Would I come back? YES! Nice and toasty and a little bit crunchy. I still haven't tried all of the different empanadas, but the beef was super tasty. Very savory and not at all greasy. The chorizo and cheese was also good, with just a little more spice. I also tried the pinadelphia (pineapple & cream cheese) for dessert and that hit the spot. I came here because the reviews were good and I wanted to try it. This place is solely based on the "hype" and is very aesthetically pleasing. I got the chorizo and spinach empanada. The chorizo was BEYOND disappointing. Very dry and you can tell the dough isn't made from scratch. It has a very weird taste. To my surprise there wasn't any cheese in it, just chorizo. So just bread and chorizo. Not very good. Moving on to the spinach. It had very small amounts of cheese that was burnt on the inside of the empanada that gave it a very chewy texture. Not very good either. Lastly, I decided to get the Pinadelphia just to see if this place can continue to be consistently bad. Wellllllllll, the pineapple inside is canned and is mixed with cream cheese. Nothing special. Terrible place. This is probably the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. I had been there previously and enjoyed the empanadas. I brought my sister so that she could taste them and consider them for catering. The service was a JOKE. We had been waiting for 45 minutes when we went to ask how much longer our order would be it seems they misplaced it. A "sorry we misplaced the order" and "we will get it out to you" would have been enough to solve the situation. Instead, we got multiple excuses as to why it happened. When we pushed for a resolution, we were told we could choose from what was ready-made in the case (there were maybe two empanadas left) instead of what we ordered. I ordered the beef habanero and there's no spice or seasoning, it's literally ground beef cooked in a pan and placed inside the shell and I couldn't even tell if there was habanero. The dough was strangely sweet and soggy and it split open down the middle after the first bite hemorrhaging its contents all over the wrapper. The chimichurri sauce was some kind of oil mixed with what tasted like Italian dressing. In fact the vegetable and herbs look like what you would find in a bottle of italian dressing from the grocery store. The dough was very dry and very thick not soft flaky and buttery as one would expect an empanada to be. We tried the apple cinnamon, Nutella, pinadelphia which barely had any cream cheese I'm assuming that's what is supposed to be in those. At almost $4 each not worth the price at all. We paid almost $23 for 1/2 a dozen empanadas that we were expecting to be delicious but were not good at all. Don't waste your money folks. read more
