This place has lost its appeal. Okay, so there's still a nostalgic feel to their food, especially the tortillas and the mole. And maybe I just didn't care when I was a kid that the beans were super dry, but I do now... especially at around $5 a pop. I ordered 6 menu items and asked for salsa and they skimped and gave me four. The desherbada was dry and lacked seasoning. The menu also states that all burritos come with beans unless otherwise stated or requested but my moms burrito was missing the beans. They also have a sign up for handmade paletas but apparently they don't sell them anymore... so why is the sign will up? It was fun to get a taste of my childhood (I guess) but I think it's time to leave this place in the past. read more

Crisostomo Burritos and Quesadillas. I've never been here before and it's drive thru only, so didn't know what to expect. The menu was pretty clear and the attendant was super nice. I asked which ones weren't spicy in English and she spoke back in Spanish and told me which ones weren't like the barbacoa, but the bistek was spicy. I guess my Spanish listening skills from watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix is paying off! I ordered the barbacoa, and the salsa and cilantro and onions came on the side. The bistek already had everything. You can add beans or have it without and there's no upcharge. I added it to the bistek but left the barbacoa alone. It was fairly priced for the size of the burritos. I had a bite of the bistek and it was spicy, but hubby liked it, it has potatoes and peppers in the sauce. The barbacoa was seasoned well, I added the cilantro and onions but didn't need the salsa. There was a huge gristly chunk towards the end of the burrito which I didn't like, and it was super greasy. This is a good spot if you want quick and not McDonald's or Sonic style fast food, but I'll still stick to Los Primos for my barbacoa, it's never gristly or greasy. Dining room is not open so this is a drive thru experience. They get 2 stars for their rapid service even with a large number of cars lining up- very efficient for a business that was obviously not built for drive through only. The food though, absolutely inedible this time; nothing was fresh even though we went shortly after opening. The salsa was curdling up it was so spoiled. Chiles rellenos were 3 days old ( not a guess-employee admitted it). Barbacoa had no seasoning and with no salsa to save it, straight to the trash can. Their burritos used to be the best. We had stopped going cause their quality had gone down but decided to give it one more try.... so regret it. I ordered the desherbada and Chile relleno burritos. First off the positive aspects. This place is a Burrito institution. Particularly the Juarez locations. However their prices have been steadily going up. And although this is to be expected during the Pandemic some items should not gone up so much. There is also a lack of consistency...on some days the burritos are well made with enough of the primary ingredients. On other days it's a skinny version of what's it's supposed to be. You are still paying the same price. When Burritos start to touch 5 dollars a Burrito there are just simply other options, I get I understand why the prices are going up. Alright for a quick meal (though I imagine not during Franklin's lunch hour) Crisostomo's burritos will, by no means, blow you away, but they are okay-to-good and reliable across the many El Paso locations. This location struck me as having a more limited selection than the Eastside locations I frequent, but I can't prove that, the menu just looked smaller. The rajas con queso burrito is soggy and messy, but good, the Chicharron is okay. The tortillas are nice and fluffy, and taste freshly made. Drinks are waaaay overpriced, however, I recommend take out and get your drink elsewhere. I take it the owners are Bayern fans, this is the second location that I visit that has a Champions League plaque, there's nothing wrong with that and this isn't really going anywhere, I just found it odd. read more

Lingua burritos are to die for. Picadillo burritos are good too. But the lingua is the best. Tender, melt in your mouth lingua in a rich red chile sauce, enveloped in a soft, warm flour tortilla. It is delicious comfort food at it's finest. They have a nice condiments bar with fresh pico de gallo and other salsas, but those lingua burritos need no further adornment. read more

Yes, these burritos are some of the best the West has to offer. They taste just like the ones from Juarez, they've stayed true to themselves. This location is very busy and service sometimes is slow, but they always get my order right. The drive thru is even slower but if you call your order in you can just pick up. I've just accepted that every other time I'm here they're going to somehow f%@k up my order. And I guess it's because I finally understand that what I'm ordering is not normal and when I bring it to their attention they will always make the correction without hesitation and they also look a little terrified that I may start flipping tables because they forgot to put cheese on my chile relleno burrito (yes, when I get a burrito that already comes with cheese, I ask for more). Normally messing up an order as much as they do wouldn't be okay with me, but in this instance it's not them, it's me. So we've talked about the chile relleno and how what I'm ordering must sound incredibly redundant so I'll move on to my current favorite... Bistec de Res. So steak. First off, this is spicy, but the good kind of spicy where you can still feel your face afterwards. And strangely my obsession with their limonada does not worsen the pain from the heat, it may even help it subside a little. I love the Bistec burrito. But I'm also about that guacamole life. And that cheese live. And that beans life. So I order the Bistec with beans, cheese, and guac and every. single. time. the cashier repeats my order back to me shocked (probably wondering, "What the hell is wrong with this lady?"). By the time it gets to the food prep line it seems as though the cooks are just in utter disbelief and think it most be a mistake. Sometimes the cooks trust the process and just make it (terrified that I will be horrified by what they've served me) and sometimes they try to figure out which ingredient the cashier accidentally added to my order. None. So they don't add cheese. Because cheese and guac, who does that? I do, sir, and I can't help myself. So most of the time we dine in now which I'm okay with because I was never waiting until we got home to scarf them down anyway. The inside isn't all that great, but it gives me a place to plant my keister while a suck down this cheesy goodness. A little run down on the food: The tortillas are an A+. A little thick so you never have to worry about them falling apart, but not so thick that it tastes like you're eating some kind of holy communion that immediately gives you cotton mouth leaving you asking, "Where's the wine?" You can choose a quesadilla or a burrito. I have yet to confirm whether I can get a quesarito, but I honestly think if I tried to order that I'd have to stay by the glass window and walk them through it. On burritos, the cheese is not shredded. Or melted. It's a big ol' slice the size of your burrito. This means two things for you if you want it to be melted. Either 1. You must wait about 5 minutes to inhale your burrito because it will melt on its own or 2. Don't give a damn. I go with option two because honestly it's still hella good and the melting process has started enough for me that I'm not eating a cold, brick hard piece of cheese. read more

Here's the deal: if you come to this location for the great tasting burritos, you will not be disappointed. Crisostomo's has the quality control....down to a science. We ordered 3 burritos, 1 quesadilla, and an agua fresca. Everything was pitch perfect, taste wise. My order was complete and as specified. We tried the red salsa and it was very good, but needed salt. The hard facts: prepare to wait. There's no guy with an iPad and headset taking orders from the waiting line. The service is less friendly, than at the Mesa location. Lastly, this restaurant just doesn't work at this spot. They need bigger space, a stand alone location, and they need to get a little quicker at getting the food out. read more

Burritos are great, they taste just like the ones from Juarez. We always order at least three for my family and the order is accurate and tasty. I love the quesadillas with barbacoa, they are just awesome. My wife has the quesadillas with different fillings every time but she is always happy. My son finishes his Winnie and beans burrito every time, his favorite. Drinks my wife always has the Jamaica y like the limonada they both taste fresh. Their service is fast and if they have a line on the drive through they get out to take your order to make it faster. I was seriously disappointed when I went into Crisostomo on Sunday afternoon. Upon arriving, the guy at the register explains to me that over 80% of their burritos are unavailable and hands me a menu with all but four of them crossed out. I opted to still give the place a try, and went to order. As I started ordering they tell me that they also do not have any beans (which prompted me to leave). Their whole business idea is 1. Choose whether you want a burrito or quesadilla 2. Choose whether you want beans. 3. Choose your extras. I was surprised they were even open. I had never been there before and probably wont waste my time ever trying to go back. I would say they lose more customers by offering poor service than the little money they make trying to sell the last bit of food, which I cant imagine is any good if its just "whats left." read more

Came here for the first time tod3ay. Had a taste for a burrito. The wife thought it was too early for a burrito, it was 10:30. We weren't sure if they would be open yet but when we arrived, the sign said they opened at 8:00. We went in, there were only 2 customers ahead of us so service was quick. I ordered a burrito and quesadilla. Wife ordered a burrito with eggs and sausage. We each ordered horchatas for drinks. The food was pretty good, definitely a respectable burrito in flavor and freshness. Size wise, it was a little on the smaller side, at least compared to the burritos I typically had back at home in Chicago. Place was clean and the atmosphere looked like a typical step above a hole in the wall. However, the front window had 2 marks where it looked like a small high speed projectile had attempted to penetrate the window. Now the bad news, I used my debit card and they said it was an extra 50 cents. To my knowledge, that's a violation of the merchant agreement. Being hungry, already ordered and not obligated to go back, I played along with it. I understand that the payment processing companies charge a fee but aren't those fees a part of doing business? Why nickle and dime your customers with an additional charge? How about not accepting debit cards then? read more
