I'm so happy I found this place (I knew it was here but had been over 10 years) again. I love good flautas and a genuine Mexican home cooked flavor. This place has it. We ordered the tortas and it comes 4 to an order with avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and queso fresco (not to be confused with shredded cheese). The flavor of the meat was on point, many times flautas have bland flavor because places try to use toppings as flavor add-ons but not the case here. You can tell the meat is well prepared. There's was another table enjoying some caldo de res (beef stew) and my did it look delicious. I have to go back and try it. A lot of people went in to order burritos so might have to get one of those too in the future. The staff is friendly and welcoming which is a plus for me. The place is relatively small but it works. They also sell licuados or fruit smoothies but I didn't order any. The prices are reasonable and they take cards. There's plenty of parking as well. Definitely give them a try and support local. read more

Good solid Mexican food! We ordered takeout from this place based on the large menu of options and the stellar reviews. I'm so glad we did as I loved my lunch - the shrimp cocktail in a cold spicy salsa-like soup. Others in my group enjoyed their chicken quesadillas as well. My coworker doesn't speak Spanish and was unable to decipher what some of the menu items were when she got there so it may be helpful for non-Spanish speakers if there are photos with English translations of what the food items are or menus with English available in the future. Wasn't sure what we wanted to pick up for dinner and wanted something to support local. I selected to come to Tortas Y Mas for a torta and was not disappointed. I got the steak with green chilis and cheese (Vaquera). Super tasty. My wife and daughter shared the Tacos Deshebrada and Picadillo plates which were good as well with corn shells that were fried for the meal with three tacos each. I love this restaurant! My girlfriend suggested we try this place, so we stopped in for some authentic Tortas. I realized my grasp on the Spanish language based on one semester in college was no Bueno, but I was able to make due. The staff was very friendly and great at taking orders quickly (busy place so a good sign for good food). I decided on Barbacoa which was juicy and tender with a lot of taste. It had shredded lettuce and guacamole on a wonderfully soft bread. So good. The hot sauce (you could add) was quite hot (yeah I know I like hot food so this one had kick) and added a great heat. The man taking our order was so nice. We don't speak Spanish so he took his time explaining what was on the menus and the most popular dishes. This is a quaint little whole in the wall, mom & pop restaurant. They make great, delicious food here at an incredibly cheap price. It is simple comfort Mexican food made by nice people who know what they are doing. The first time I went here it waste because my friend wanted some horchata and I just couldn't bare going to Taco Cabana like he wanted. We asked a local at the Tmobile spot and she mentioned this place. We both ended up ordering a couple of burritos as well. We both got a barbacoa and bistek en salsa, (the name they had was a little different, but that's basically what it means). The barbacoa is tasty and not too salty or too greasy. They grill the barbacoa a little I imagine to heat it up and it gives it a some crispness that removes some of the grease. The bistek taco was bursting with meat, tomatoes and peppers and had a very good kick to it. Both burritos were on great tasting, soft flour tortillas that were definitely freshly homemade and they definitely do not skimp on the filling. At the back of the small restaurant they have a couple of plastic containers on ice with green and red salsa that are must have on additions. You are free to take some to your table in little condiment cups. They both have a kick, so make sure you sample taste them before pouring it on your grub. The first time I was there, I decided to ask the owner about the lack of refried beans on tortas in El Paso. I am from south Texas and our tortas have refried beans as a staple. He commented that beans were not standard here, but quickly informed me that putting them on was no problem. I liked that. I had gotten a weird look elsewhere for even asking the darn question. He even said he would put them on my burritos if I wanted. I declined that time, but on my 2nd trip I ordered them with beans and he didn't even bat an eye. Today I had the barbacoa torta with added green chili, cheese and of course refried beans. The lady who took our order did so quickly and again, I was very happy to not have her think it wierd that I wanted beans on it. The lady came out to the line to take orders back to the kitchen so that by the time we reached the register our food was already underway. Very cool! My opinion on the torta? Deliciousness in between two soft pieces of fresh bread. As mentioned, I had the barbacoa and it was as good as I remember it from the burritos. The bread is huge and definitely fresh, with a slight toast to it. Their tortas come with mayo, lettuce, tomato and avocado. My buddy had the milanesa, ham and cheese one and he was very happy with it proclaiming, "that was probably the best sandwich I've had since I got to El Paso". I must say he is right. I've tried their agua de melon and their piña (pineapple) one too. Both are great, but melon is my favorite. Aguas are fresh squeezed/pureed juices that are way better than sodas in my opinion and are also a staple of Mexican vendors and restaurants. All in all, I totally enjoy going to eat at this place. My husband was craving a torta & found this little place on the yelp app search. Not being far from home decided to head over & so glad we did. The service in this restaurant is outstanding. The owner and staff are very attentive. Food is amazing and as for the tortas we order they were very fulfilling. They don't skimp on the filling & avocado which is very common since avocado is a bit pricy here in the states. The price for 2 meals is very close in price to any fast food restaurant, however here one will get a quality tasty meal. If you are in search for great tortas this is definitely your place. I am disappointed in this restaurant I order so much from here u'd think they would like me by now! Although the food is delicious they can't seem to get my simple request right! So theres the reason for my 4 stars! I ordered flautas and asked for 5 lil green salsas and then they give me 0 like what? Then on a second occasion (today) I ordered the same thing and ask again for 5 lil green salsas and they gave me 2 green salsas and 2 red smh. Its so simple but apparently all of a sudden its not. We drive pass this place at least 5x a week. We were wanting something tasty, inexpensive and nearby. Hubs wanted a steak sandwich. So I remembered this place. Glad we finally tried it after being in EP for 3 yrs....wish we came sooner. I had the machaca burrito and my husband had the steak strips torta. Both yummy. Oh and we ordered the twins a cheese quesadilla, which they weren't interested in because they were busy gulping down the maui smoothie. Whatever, we ate the quesadilla, that was tasty too. We stopped in here for a quick lunch one afternoon and then we were hooked! I had the barbacoa which is only available on the weekend, and it was perfect. Not too greasy, lots of cilantro and onions on it, and a decent sized portion. I have been back a couple times since then and every time my food has been fresh, hot, and served quickly. I had been craving authentic Mexican food. So very last minute I decided not to make dinner and try to pick something up as fast as I could. I called about 5 different restaurants and all were closed or about to close. I finally called this restaurant, owner answered me and said that all though they were closing soon he would still take my order and wait for me to arrive. My food was absolutely the best. I've been there multiple times since then and not one complaint. Who I presume to be the owner of the restaurant is so kind and knows how to treat customers. Found this place on Google maps while passing through El Paso off of Hwy 54. My mom and I ordered the enchilada plate and 2 burritos. One was the barbacoa and the other one was the desebrada con chile verde. It was truly authentic home cooked meals that were hot and delicious. The restaurant was clean and very inviting. I have a feeling that the man who took our orders was probably the owner. Great service but even better food. Watch out for the red hot sauce they bring to the table because it's hot but a good hot if you like spicy food. The green salsa has good flavor but not that much heat. I liked them both. Best Tortas I've had so far in El Paso. They are little bit thin but really good. They add avocados to their Tortas, God knows how much I love avocado. They also have really good aguas frescas. If you are on budget this is place to come and get a quick lunch. They are fast, friendly and efficient. I think I found my new lunch spot. :) oh! And there's lots of parking I think that's a plus, but then again I'm in El Paso, there's parking everywhere. Lol! I forget that I'm not LA anymore ;( I highly recommend it! :) read more

Tortas were good but thin and not very fulfilling. The other down side is that they don't come with fries or any other side order. If you want to add to your torta you are looking at around $10 with drink, So not that cheap either. Also, ordered kids nuggets and fries and they were terrible. read more
