This is reviewing a Walmart AS A WALMART and not trying to compare it to a Target or some other big…read morebox store. I gave it 2 stars because it has a Dunkin Donuts inside. For SEVERAL YEARS, it was THE ONLY DUNKIN DONUTS IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. I believe soon they will open one in Fresno State, but just having a Dunkin Donuts gets some points. Now as a Walmart, this has got to be one of the weakest walmarts Ive been to. It seems, feels, and looks rather small. That's really it and why the bad score. Especially for being THE ONLY WALMART in Madera, IT SHOULD be way bigger than it should. I think the city of Madera deserves a bigger Walmart. You want tax dollars to leave as people to to Fresno instead? Again, I'm just basing this review compared to other Walmarts. It was busy when I went which really magnified how smaller this location was to most other Walmarts around the nation. Don't get me wrong it wasn't messy or disorganized, but just less of a Walmart than one might be used to. Again, Madera should demand a bigger Walmart.

The "manager" that came out to speak with me and another customer who was there for the advertised price said they did not have such a price advertised by. When I showed him the advertised price he said it was a mistake. He refused to honor the advertised price and was very rude. I told him they are legally obligated to honor the price but his response was "we don't have to". This is fraud on their part. I will no longer patronize this store.

It was Christmas day and most restaurants were closed in Fresno, so we decided to quickly get off…read morethe highway around downtown Madera and see if anything was open. Luckily we didn't need to drive far before we spotted this carniceria. Its parking lot was pretty full with many cars coming and going, which indicated that it was open. The store sold a variety of meat and snacks, much as what you'd expect from any other carniceria. But most people were here for the taqueria portion - you could get a box of cooked meat to go for ~$13-17 per pound, which was a pretty good deal. There were some tables inside the taqueria, but they were slightly dirty, and most people were just taking their food to go. We got a few quesadillas to share. They were huge and stuffed with well-seasoned chicken breast meat, and came with sides of rice and beans, or salad and avocado. The free salsa here was SPICY, and my mouth burned for a bit after consuming it. But overall the food was excellent and we left full and happy.
