I mainly come here to get a few different items on different occasions. First there breakfast burritos we enjoy them they are half priced of what you pay at other locations. Breakfast Burritos are huge and filling they taste good especially with their salsa verde. Next their rotisserie chicken and carnitas are good to and not priced high. When we make tamales this is where we come for the masa. I have never personally experienced anything bad with any employees here I have always experienced good customer service. read more

I just love shopping here. The people are friendly and I love the variety of different kinds of food. The meat is awesome! It's fresh and really good, not like other grocery stores. The vegetables and fruit are grown right here in the San Joaquin valley. You know you're getting really good, fresh produce. I drive all the way from Coarsegold just for the meat and produce alone. Horrible service their cashier stole $25 from my elder mom went in to get our money back and she starts gossiping to her coworker accusing us of lying because she "gave her a lot of fives how would she not have her money" only to look like a fool when the manager comes back with footage that she didn't give us her money. I went to Rancho San Miguel yesterday around 630 to buy a cake from the bakery. The person at the counter had me standing there for about 15 minutes before she decided to ask "have you been helped?" No, I have not, as she clearly was the only person at the bakery. When I asked what flavor a cake was she responded "tres leches, all the ones on the black trays are tres leches." I said oh ok. What about the ones on this side? She responded with a sour attitude and said "those are regular!" At this point I was like what the hell is this kind of a service? I asked "well can I get a regular cake?" The attendant responded with "which one?" I asked which flavor was which. She had the most bitter and unprofessional attitude. To be honest it looked like she was having a long, bad day! If this was the case she should've stayed home. There's no need to be in the customer service industry if she's going to work just to treat people like shit and spread misery. Management needs to get involved at this point and figure out a way to fix the issue. Remember, being in customer service means having a positive attitude so customers return and continue supporting your business. I enjoy this store a lot! Clean and well kept with a colorful and vibrant theme, overall! Has a nice food court and get a lot of good meals for very reasonable prices. Some of my favorites are their cheese enchiladas, tamales, carnitas plate or chilequiles or heuvos rancheros. Also got a big produce selection and good bakery as well, their empanadas and other pastries pretty good. Also very reasonably priced and well stocked for most stuff. I honestly have never experience a more unpleasant experience while grocery shopping at this Rancho San Miguel in Madera. I was at the self check out and one of the cashier managers had to help me look up a purchase item and was upset right off of the bat then towards the end, when I proceeded to make my payment, she then accused me and told me why didn't you scan those two cans of tomato's, My wife looked at the lady & asked what are you talking about? You can check all my items and the the supposed Manager said I will check all the items because I know you stole and she called loss prevention to check each item one by one. And the heavyset gentleman started to approach me, really aggressive and talking to me in a manner like if he was going to hurt me once I felt threatened I asked to speak to the manager then the lady then proceeds to laugh and in smirks and says I'm the manager saying now empty your bag! I then dumped my bag out in the shopping cart, and all the items checked out that they were scanned and they were in the wrong and all the manager said oh my bad and looked at keep smirking and then cutting me off to leave already or they'll call the cops because I wanted to speak to somebody who was upper management, then that "manager" at the register kept saying was I'm the manager nobody else was in upper management, I am a regular customer and have never had any issues with this location I was treated like a thief in front of a whole bunch of families and customers. I come into this store once every 2 months out of bad decision on my part. EVERY TIME IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Long lines with inexperienced workers, no express lane open or it is open with customers having more than 10 items, customers who don't know how to use their gov assisted card which holds up the line and language barriers so employee can't guide customer on how to pay..... I decided to come to this store on 03/19/18 around 10:35am, as this store was the closest to the area I work in. I have been wanting to visit this store as Rancho San Miguel's plague park of the Central Valley. I love Hispanic markets not only for the good looking male workers but their deals on meats and certain American products are always cheaper. In a crunch for time and starving I needed some fat free milk for my breakfast meal as I was feeling dizzy. So my co worker wanted me to pick up a snack for her while I was there which was a diet Dr.Pepper which I bought her regular Dr.Pepper instead being in a rush. I found the milk easily but I could not find the sodas section so I hit up the worker and he helped me, went above and beyond t walk me to the soda section. I thanked him for actually directing me and he gave me his name and informed me to find him if I need anymore help. I grabbed the sodas and left. I did not get a chance to check out other areas of the stores but it smelled and looked very organized and clean. I will definitely return to see what other meats and other specials they have. When I came in today half gallon of fat free milk was only 98 cents!!!! read more

I've had 2 really bad experiences at this place. Our first visit we went in and were excited to try out there food. We got 2 plates that were decent flavor. We then went back to the counter to purchase a to go plate and notice a dying flying around the food. There was a long line so I'm watching this flying wiggle around more and more but no employee even looks in that direction. It kept going until I see it fall into the chile colorado. I left disgusted. Second visit we did our shopping and finished off at the bakery. As we wait to be helped, we wanted the upside down pineapple cake but sitting right on top was a fully grown roach! It was walking around until he planted himself right on top of the pineapple cake! We immediately walked away. Cashiers don't even bother to greet the customers nor do they take the customers next in line when opening up a new cashier box; jus allowing customers to swarm the line. Tonight I had one say, I'm open on 2 , then when I went, she asks if I had less than 10 items, AS I WAS PUTTING THINGS ON THE COUNTER! I said, No, I had 15 items. She had not said less than 10 over on #2 , she only said, I'm open on 2. We purchased a cake for a birthday at the Bakery. They gave us our ticket and we headed to the front to pick up it to discover that the cashier has given our cake to someone else. I usually only come here when I'm working here from out of town and I need something to eat at the hot food counter. The bowl of chicken soup I had was 5.95 and it came with 5 corn tortillas that's pretty good for fresh and homemade. My ex said this is her favorite grocery store in Madera, and I have to assume that this statement - like when she said "I love you" and "for better or for worse" - is a lie. The produce is not particularly fresh, and the entire meat department smells like dead fish. Best I can tell they have virtually the same prices on virtually everything as most other grocery stores do, except worse selection, less service, and a less clean store overall. I couldn't even find chicken breasts or ground beef, though part of that may be due to the fact that the rancid smell of the meat department kept me from looking for very long. When visiting today, I ordered a 2 piece chicken with rice and bean combo meal. When I got home I realized that they only gave me one piece of chicken. I disagree with the review below in some aspects. The prices are just average compared to most other supermarkets. You'll still end up paying more if you go to a Pak N Save/Raley's type store. They have a large selection of latin products, a eat-in kitchen, and a full service meat/and deli counter. The fruit and vegetable selection is great for the health conscious shopper, however, I would beware making any purchases from the meat counter. I've been to two Rancho San Miguel supermarkets and at both (including this one) I have noticed cross contamination among the meat and dairy products. A couple of friends of mine have even gotten food poisoning after purchasing ham from this particular location. In regards to the hot foods, the juice and salsa bars are great, but unless you want reheated food If I were you I would purchase my meal elsewhere. *********************** 4-24-12 I'm updating this because my significant other decided to pick up lunch for us today. The lines here can be ridiculous, very busy at times. They make tortillas & chips in house. They have a huge meat & seafood selection which has a bit of unpleasant smell in this section. I would not buy meat or seafood from here unless you are keen to farm raised fish from Vietnam. They serve mexican food here tacos, burritos etc., Bakery & produce departments too. They do offer a free ride home with 50$ spent in groceries for those who need it. The RUDEST WOMAN!!!!! I've encountered in a very long time!!! She didn't read the order right, that her co-worker at the register wrote. She made me the wrong order. I told the woman it was ok, mistakes happen. she said it's not ok, cause I wouldn't take the wrong order. As I waited for her palitely to make my right order, she mean mugged me the whole time she was making my food. When she gave me the the coldest burritos made with shear hate. I noticed she didn't put in the added condiments I previously had to pay for separately. I thought ok, not a big deal I'll just tell her she forgot them. This place SUCKS on holidays and weekends. It's ridiculously full so if your in a rush the go some where else. Most of the time they don't have the things I need. I've tried some of their carnes that they sell. A few times they've sold us the older meat that is old and expiring. At least they let us exchange it for more fresh meat. Today my husband and I waited 15-20 min to check out in the damn express lane! NEVER again. I'm going to try to avoid this place from now on. Rancho San Miguel is mostly a grocery store with a little kitchen/restaurant section to the left entrance of the store. The food is good, very inexpensive and prepared/cooked right in front of you. They usually have very good combos too and change them from time to time. They usually don't take long to prepare your food unless they are under staff. I would recommend the carnita tortas or sope de buche. They have A LOT of options in they're menu so go check them out. There is also a seating area if you want to eat there, with plenty of tables and chairs. read more

Our company was ready to spend a good amount of money with Rancho San Miguel to have food prepared for a luncheon event. I simply called and asked for a supervisor so that I could obtain a ballpark amount on pricing that we would spend for the amount of food needed...that was when I was connected with Soledad Urbina. First of all, she had the worst attitude I could've ever imagined, even in answering the phone her tone was so rude. I explained that I was calling from my company to get some prices and that we wanted to pick the food up the next day if that was possible...she proceeded to tell me that they do not give out pricing over the phone...okkkaaayyy....so I asked why--this was her response, "WE DON'T GIVE OUT PRICES OVER THE PHONE (why are you yelling?) BECAUSE OUR PRICES CHANGE SO WE DON'T GIVE OUT PRICES OVER THE PHONE! MY response: I'm really just looking for a ballpark amount, I realize it won't be exact and that the price can be different tomorrow, but I just want an idea for the amount of food we are ordering. Her response: LISTEN, WE GIVE OUT FLYERS AND YOU CAN COME IN AND PICK ONE UP, OUR POLICY STATES WE CANNOT GIVE OUT PRICES OVER THE PHONE. My response: You should talk to the owner/manager about that policy because you are potentially losing out on a lot of money for clients who like to plan ahead, as long as you give someone the heads up that prices are subject to change I don't see why you would be unable to give someone a price over the phone, what is the difference between me driving 20 minutes to get a price quote in person versus getting one right now over the phone...same thing... Then she proceeded to talk over me in an extremely rude manner until I finally said okay, thank you and hung up. For the owner: You are hiring people to represent your company that are horrible at customer service and clearly can't make good business decisions using snap judgment. It sucks that the company had to lose out on a lot of future business because of Soledad Urbina.
