As such, we ordered the carne asada and pastor mocajete. Both meats were delicious, and the portion was more than enough for the two of us. They also have a full bar, and the prices were very reasonable. The servers were very friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. Only minor issue was the smoke detector that continued to beep inside indicating the battery needed to be changed. We actually returned a few days later, and the beeping continued. It was kind of annoying. Other than that Rancho Viejo was excellent.

I'm guessing the chorizo was housemade because it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. We also got some elotes-style corn that was so sweet and lightly charred. I also selected the gaonera, suadero, and chicharron ribeye tacos. All had great "over the coals" flavor tucked into fresh, soft tortillas. Make sure to save room for dessert. I got the fondant de chocolate. Our server advised it would be a 20-minute wait, but it was totally worth it - beautiful presentation with a molten chocolate center. Good value and great experience!

It had been 15 years since my last visit and glad we put it on the top of our dining list. In between seasons, it was a quiet evening but things will pick-up soon. Three big tacos - one went home for lunch the next day. An order of nachos was too much to finish. I had a Margatita with Jamaica - so refreshing. Mike enjoyed Mai Tais. We arrived fairly early so we could watch the sun go down. More guests arrived later. Tailhunters has been a mainstay on the La Paz Malecon for many years. Also, well known for their sportfishing trips.
