I hate leaving one star reviews but nothing went right for us at this restaurant. We were seated right away and ordered tacos and 2 margaritas. After about 25 minutes of waiting and not having anything we ordered come out or be checked on by our server, we had decided to find our server and see how much longer. This became a difficult because they did not know English and tried communicating through a translator app. She then said our food would be out in 5 minutes so we decided to wait. About 5 minutes later we got chips and dip, our margaritas and then a minute or two later, our tacos. The tacos were good but not the best tacos we've had. The margaritas came out in cute glasses but both tasted different and neither were good. It's too bad this restaurant didn't fair better, its location is beautiful!!

Close to the boardwalk, they have indoor and outdoor seating. They give you a lot of sides with your tacos which was great. The prices are great, so for value I give this place 3.5-4 stars.

We love this place since our first trip to La Paz. This time was little different as we had to get a server to help us but the food is good and we will return here numerous times this vacation.

Location: On a side street on the outside edge of central La Paz downtown. We were staying at Costa Baja Resort and it was a US$4 Uber ride to here. Atmosphere: Outside patio or inside. Many large tables, good for large groups. Mostly locals eat here. Food: Known for their beef items. We got steak on a hot plate, ribs, Asada tacos, Baja fish tacos. All very good. Only complaint was we asked for medium on the steak and it come out well done. Drink: they make their own Jamaica. It was good. Otherwise, enjoyed the meal here.

Woah! Just excellent! If you're staying at Paraiso del Mar, Rancho Viejo is a five minutes walk from the dock after getting off the ferry. The meat items were cooked on a grill outside the restaurant and it smell delicious. Every bite was fresh and delicious! Not much English spoken but pointing to the menu will be suffice.

Service S U C K E D Dude Mogo was so rude unprofessional and little racist to an extent. He was speaking in Spanish, I speak and understand fluently. MOGO: said "Pinches Güeros" meaning F***ing White folks " couple of times while giving bad service to us. And horrible service to the couple next to us. We waited one Hour for Fish Tacos. We never received. So had him take them off bill. But here is his receipt and tip.

Outside pouches and patios, dogs welcome in the outside spaces.

We first came to Ranchi Viejo 2003 or 2004 when it was a small simple place with some rough tables under awnings and a cook preparing arrachera on a grill by the side of the street. Today they have a nice building and shady patios, but the chef still grills by the side of the road. We dropped by for lunch and had no difficulty scoring a shady outside table. Although their menu now runs to several pages, we went old school and had a half order of arrachera to eat in. A half order is plenty for two normal appetites. Of course we ordered it with flour tortillas, which are a speciality of the Baja and nothing like the thick doughy dreck of regular store bought tortillas. The meat and all the fixings are served on old style rough pottery complete with chips and cracks. A small bowl of tortilla chips, a salsa fresca and a dark salsa redolent with oregano, pickled onions, shreaded cabbage, avocado salsa, grilled peppers, lime wedges, a basket of tortillas, and finally cucumber slices make up the supporting cast. A platter with chopped arrachera completes the picture. The chopped arrachera is well marinated and just slightly salty. The pickled onions have a nice bite and oregano flavor. A delicious meal with a nice variety of tastes and textures. Well worth a stop if you are in the area. It is just up from the marina district and only a couple of blocks from the north end of the Malecon. Oh, and dogs are welcome at the outside tables, though smokers are not! Arrachera is still available packed to go (para levar) if you want to take it with you.

Talk about design and architecture where the rooftop itself makes you feel like you're part of a sculpture and the aesthetics just blow your mind away, all with the best views in La Paz of the Sea of Cortez. We heard about this place and knew we had to try it. Despite it being a bit on the pricier side, we knew we didn't care. Because we had just eaten and had dinner plans later, we opted for a some mezcal cocktails with a view. The drinks weren't anything I'll be talking about but the experience itself is something I'll never forget. Form the host to our servers to the views you can't put a price on. We wish we could've come for sunset but sadly we were in a bit of a time crunch. That's something I'm sure leaves you speechless. Either way, highly recommend! You can also reserve a little pool plunge area that comes with a towel and the best views in the house. Totally worth it! I'll never forget this experience and it's a space I'll for sure keep talking and dreaming about. Hope to try their food and maybe even stay at one of their rooms next time I'm in La Paz. Thanks for an unforgettable experience. The design and architecture left me speechless.

Our friendly server Roberto wheeled out a giant blackboard with the food menu on one side and drinks on the other. He also answered our questions about the tacos that were unfamiliar to us. To start, we ordered the queso fundido con chorizo. It arrived at our table bubbling hot - check out my video- with a mix of warm corn and flour tortillas. I'm guessing the chorizo was housemade because it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. We also got some elotes-style corn that was so sweet and lightly charred. I also selected the gaonera, suadero, and chicharron ribeye tacos. All had great "over the coals" flavor tucked into fresh, soft tortillas. Make sure to save room for dessert. I got the fondant de chocolate. Our server advised it would be a 20-minute wait, but it was totally worth it - beautiful presentation with a molten chocolate center. Good value and great experience!
