I popped in one day after running errands around Murfreesboro and when I first saw that it was an old BK converted into Mexican restaurant, I thought to myself this is either going to be distrusting or delicious, and lucky for me it was the latter! El Cubilete serves up authentic Mexican food, and while you can still get the classics you are used to, they focus a lot on the true Mexican classics. Being the gringo I am, I went with my tried and true chicken, rice and cheese sided with some chori-queso. While the order was basic, the food itself was not. The queso, chips, chicken, tortillas and everything was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. To with the food, they brought out their house red and green sauce. SPICY is an understatement, but I could handle in small dabs, and through that realized while the green was milder, the red had better flavor. But honestly it was lose-lose for me with those sauces. In addition to the food, they have a small drink menu with beers, frozen drinks and a solid selection of agua frescas. Service was stellar. The owner was super kind, welcoming me in, checking on me during my meal and ultimately ringing me out. All the servers were friendly and helpful. Overall, odd layout and set up, along with service being communal (everyone serves everyone together), which is a bit odd...but even with all that, the food and service speak up and stand alone. Great spot with good folks and tasty food! I would certainly swing back through when in Murfreesboro.

My brother recommended this dish MONTHS ago, but I never bothered to try. Wow! I've been missing out! This was my first visit ever, I called in my order 30 min before they closed and the young gentleman was so nice. I give this place 5 stars from the minute I called in for my order to the moment I checked out. They have a new regular now! Thank you La Loma!!!!

When the food finally came out, only one plate arrived. Our fajitas never came. After waiting more than 25 minutes, the waitress finally came back and asked how everything was. We told her we still hadn't received our meal. She looked surprised, went to check, and came back saying someone else had taken our fajitas by mistake and they would have to make another order. At that point, we told her to forget it because the other person in our party had already finished eating. And the rest of the food was cold. She later brought the bill and didn't charge us for the fajitas, but we still had to pay for everything else. I'm honestly not sure I'll go back, which is disappointing because I actually like their food.

Walking in the restaurant was empty and bright. Seems they must of had 100 watt bulbs in all their lamps lol. But that's ok it allowed me to better see my beautiful family. There was a odd odor in the air, one of something old or musty, not sure really what it was. But it didn't stop us from taking a booth and enjoying a family dinner. The waiter was superb and attentive to our needs. The salsa and chips were good and of coarse you have to wash it down with a pineapple Jarrito. Dinner was full of flavor with exception of my daughters enchiladas, they were pretty bad. The chicken was dry and over cooked. But everything else was good and no one complained. Really mixed feeling about the place but I think it's more because the atmosphere than anything else. It just wasn't a fun, energy filled festive vibe. More like eating dinner at grandmas when you were in trouble. In conclusion the food is good, the service is awesome and well atmosphere and decor are lacking something.

Well now that it is Fiesta Margarita, I still find myself only coming for the green sauce and dumping it on mediocre food. I have been to Fiesta Margarita twice and found that they are very inconsistent. Both times, I ordered street tacos. The menu doesn't say it comes with beans and rice but on my second visit, it came with beans and rice. I tried to order barbacoa tacos on both visits but they didn't have any. I will just assume that they don't serve any barbacoa at all even tho it's on the menu. The first time the tacos were decent although I have had better. The green sauce definitely helps give the tacos flavor. The second time the tacos were sooo salty and the carnitas were extremely dry. The service is also hit or miss. Although the food is pretty mediocre to me, I can't stay away from the green sauce. It's just so good. The sauce is why I chose to give this restaurant a 3 star rating. It makes the food more enjoyable and I'll just have to keep coming back every now and then to get my green sauce fix.
