The first four times we visited were pretty good. This last visit on May 5th was horrible. I understand it was Cinco de Mayo and they were busy, but the experience was very disappointing. We waited forever just to place our order. When the food finally came out, only one plate arrived. Our fajitas never came. After waiting more than 25 minutes, the waitress finally came back and asked how everything was. We told her we still hadn't received our meal. She looked surprised, went to check, and came back saying someone else had taken our fajitas by mistake and they would have to make another order. At that point, we told her to forget it because the other person in our party had already finished eating. And the rest of the food was cold. She later brought the bill and didn't charge us for the fajitas, but we still had to pay for everything else. Ordered take out: 1 nachos gringos and 1 burrito grande. The nachos were stale and had an old oil taste. Barely any cheese on the nachos. Grilled chicken on top was dry with no seasoning and the "rice" was no where to be found. Burrito grande was the same size as a burrito at Taco Bell. Not the overstuffed burrito with onions, peppers and mushrooms as claimed on the menu. They charge a convenience fee for take out which I didn't mind assuming it would include a bag of chips and salsa. Salsa was a thimble size. Ordered beef tacos, a chicken taco, and a tamale. The shredded chicken taco was good. The shells were just really stale. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and they loaded the taco with chicken. The beef in the beef tacos were extremely salty. Literally inedible. Grub hub refunded the beef tacos. Haven't received any feed back on the tamale yet. Located in a section of town that has seen a lot of development, La Loma is situated in a nice supermarket mall anchored by Publix. Although larger than it appears on the outside, we did not have to wait to be seated. Service was quick at first but lagged as we waited for out entrees. Apparently, with the small rooms, it might look empty and seem like the kitchen is slow when in reality, they are also cooking for all the people in the rooms that you can't see. My food was good, spicy and fragrant. The Caldo de Camaron (Soup of Shrimp aka Shrimp Soup) was particularly tasty with a lot of garlic and onion tastes in addition to the spices. read more

This used to be my go to spot for Mexican but went here with the fam on cinco de mayo and the young male waiter was so incredibly rude to us. We ate outside and weren't getting any service so after having to go inside to ask for drinks a second time the guy got a major attitude. The thing is, they weren't even busy and they should expect to have a lot of customers that day. The food ended up being less than par and the young man never lost the attitude. The tortilla chips were stale, the beef on my tacos had a strange smell and my son's shrimp tacos were not as ordered. The margaritas were decent. Our server seemed to struggle to understand us. Hands down, best Mexican spot in town!! I come here for dinner all of the time. The negative reviews are misleading because I never wait too long for service and my food is always hot and delicious. I have tried a few other things but, typically when we go, I get chicken enchiladas poblanas (blackened chicken enchiladas with spicy green sauce, comes with rice and beans) and my boyfriend gets a beef burrito (they are a pretty big size) and a side of sliced avocado (always bright green and fresh). I usually get two house margaritas and he gets two large beers. The bill is never more than $35. The chips are warm and toasty for dipping in their salsa, which is a perfect mix of chunky, smooth, spicy, and mild. I don't know how they do it but I would love to take a jar of it home! We ordered the guacamole appetizer with cilantro and onion was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the fajita quesadilla and the tortilla was thick, hot and buttery. Overpriced. A single taquito cost $3.50 and is half the size of a .99 burrito at Taco Bell. I know they're not comparable, but that's pretty steep for just okay food. My family ordered 8 taquitos and 2 cheese dip and chips and it cost over $50. read more
