Update: Since my last review we've had nothing but terrible service and food from La Fiesta. Too many better Mexican options in the city. Typically quick Mexican with the typical cheap-er prices. The restaurant has been in Lakesite for years and could do with a bit of updating, but I think that's par for the course with most older restaurants around here. This was such a strange Mexican food experience. First of all, I will start by saying the service we had was just fine. It seems like others have had issues but the server we had was very nice and speedy with drink refills. The menu was typical for Tennessee Mexican selection. Just the normal offerings like every other place around. I decided on nachos with beef and chicken and my mother got the combination with a taco and burrito. I have got to say - the food was borderline terrible aside from a couple of items. The beans were very flavorful. The red sauce on the burrito was also very flavorful and delicious. So her bean burrito was good. The rest of it - could have not eaten any of it and would have been just fine. It was palatable but seriously would not go back. The ground beef was not seasoned at all and I'm not sure what about it made it taste just like a hamburger, but my nachos tasted like a cheeseburger (?) Instead of a Mexican dish. The cheese was so watery my chips were falling apart soggy. And the guacamole I asked them to add was foul. It was just not good. read more

They constantly ran of stuff on the menu and got orders wrong years before COVID. We switched to El Fogon and have been very happy. And they never run out of chocolate chimichangas ;-). read more

8 of us from work came to eat there yesterday. It took 25 minutes to get drinks. (15 minutes to even order.) People who came in after us got drink refills before we ever got our drinks to begin with. We ordered our meals with our drinks to save time. Left after 45 minutes. A group of 14 came in near the front after us and were done. Several others in the main room, again, who came in after us received their food. Only one other table of 2 who came in after us had not gotten their food. Never an apology from our server. We got up and left. What is sad this was one of our favorite group lunch spots. Not sure what has changed, but something has. No manager making round checking on things, etc. Sad to see. read more

Not really 'in the mood' for Arbys, so stopped across the street at la Fiesta. First visit, and worth a return. Menu had a rather crowded look. I'd suggest a separate menu for lunch, rather than crowd lunch/dinner/specials onto one template. The service was polite, the staff friendly, and the food items arrived promptly. Background music at correct level. Good ADA access. I enjoyed my #100, a large beef burrito, covered in fresh lettuce, with a dollop of creme cheese. The burrito was perfectly filled with spicy beef. The refried beans were a bit on the 'loose' side. Rice item was bland, but corrected with some of the white cheese sauce. Solid, if not stellar! AND itz close to the abode! read more

I've been here a few times. Tried to give it a chance but it just misses the mark every time. Service is hit or miss but mostly slow and mostly miss. Food is just mediocre. Drinks are good but the slow service keeps you from drowning your mediocre food sorrows in a reasonable amount of time. It's possible you may like this place. Some do. Zero stars. We used to frequently visit this establishment due to proximity of our home. The food was acceptable and prices decent. But over several months, it has gone downhill in food quality and service. The saying goes "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". Well, we walked out for the final time, to never return. Service has commonly been a joke. Today, our queso dip was cold and lumpy which never has before; requested to rehear it and took good 5-7 mins just for that. Then food showed up. I kid you not, the beef did not taste like beef. Consistency and texture offered a taste of what maybe dog food. The beef was soft and mushy and pale in color. After repeated let downs we finally called it quits. We let the manager know we were leaving without another bite, and walked, never to return. Such a shame. Very disappointed! read more

Possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever had. We wondered why there was only one car in the parking lot at 7:30 on a Sunday night. Now, we know. I ordered the "Enchiladas Supremas". Everything was tasteless. There was very little filling - chicken, ground beef, beans. It was a plate of soggy tortillas, topped with a little sauce, cheese, and lettuce. My husband ordered a quesadilla, which he said was very bland. We ordered a side of guac. hoping to add some taste...no such luck. I am thinking of heading back here. This is the happiest I have been with any kind of Mexican food, and I do like that kind of food. If when I go back it is as good for lunch as it was when it was at its best, we will return more often. If we go and there is not queso and the food is not as good, then we will not return. First time eating here...Luv the atmosphere...Food was really good-luv the salsa-husband got incorrect order but they quickly got him the right meal...my only complaint was the waitress...not friendly...not good even at taking a drink order...she took half our order and we kept trying to get her attention for the rest of it and then she acted put out....she was tipped according to her service...the manager brought our food out and he is fabulous...so it's a good place to eat if you can get a different waitress/waiter read more

Great place to eat. Good service. We eat lunch here at least 1-2 x per month. Taco salad is great and the fajitas are amazing.

My wife and I used to eat at La Fiesta regularly. They bring chips to the table with salsa, and we started to notice that the chips tasted weird. On several occasions we had to send them back and ask for more. Our waitress explained that sometimes the chip warmer isn't cleaned regularly. Then, we started to notice that the floors hadn't been mopped in a while. The overall cleanliness of this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, so we no longer eat at La Fiesta. I really liked their shrimp fajitas and wish they would clean up the place. read more

The restaurant is close to our new home and we decided to give it a try. The wait staff was friendly and the service was good. The lighting in the restaurant or the printing of the menu makes it hard to read. The food did not live up to my expectations. I ordered Steak Tampiquena. It was not what I was accustomed to. It was a tough grilled steak without any of the usual onions, peppers and cheese. I would not go there again. read more

Just left restaurant covered in salsa! Hostess dropped a platter containing salsa and it splattered ALL OVEr my shirt and shorts yet she refused to adjust my bill! Insisting that I return with a dry cleaning bill before she would reimburse me. Can you believe this??? read more

I agree with the others who have had poor service. I went with my family and was overcharged on both drinks and one of the entrees. When I told the manager about this, he didn't care one bit or try to make the situation right. When I told him I wouldn't be back, he just said "you can do whatever you want." So I haven't been back, and won't go there ever again. The food is good, but the service is horrible and the manager is just plain rude. Never again. read more

Very good food. I really like the California Burrito. Super generous sizes with meat stuffed portions. The food comes out quickly and is steaming hot. Service is quick and attentive. Drinks are refilled quickly and I really love their salsa. The salsa and chips are complementary and the salsa actually has a bit of a kick w/ a good amount of cilantro. That being said, I avoid this place at all costs on Friday and Saturday nights. They have live music, really loud, live music on those nights. My husband and I have actually called to ask when the live music starts, so we can get there before or go somewhere else. I actually like to converse with my spouse and you cannot hear anything over the ear splitting volume they allow the Eagles wannabe guy to play at. Rickety tables. Small but clean bathrooms. Good food, just don't go on live music nights and you'll be fine. read more

We live close by and enjoy coming here & getting take out too. The music can get a bit loud, when they have someone playing since it is a small place, but the food is great and the people are very nice.The guacamole, Fajiatas, taco bowl and chicken chimichanga are among our favorites. read more

I don't know why this place is not reviewed often but I live this restaurant. They have excellent service, great live music, food is yummy. Their decor is very colorful and ambience is nice. This place is a little far from my place but I go and eat here as much as possible. They helped me celebrate my friends birthday, it was supposed to be a surprise and they did a great job helping me celebrate it. Love this restaurant!! read more

I'm struggling with my fourth star that I'm going to give this review. We came to this place a year or so ago and it was totally different. There is some crazy mural on the back wall, service wasn't great and the food was kind of bland. Oh yeah, the margaritas were tiny as well. So what's the point of coming to a Mexican restaurant if you can't have either a.) Have some tasty Mexican food? or b.) Have a nice margarita drink? That's right, there is no reason. However, La Fiesta must be under new management these days. The service is generally better. The food, as mentioned in other reviews, is better than amigos, but isn't the best ever. For a local Mexican joint for Lakesite, I'll be coming here more often. One thing that we always get now is the house guacamole dish. It is to die for. Sometimes we will just go order margaritas and eat the guacamole with chips and that is just fine. The margaritas have gotten a lot better, and you can order them by the pitcher which will save you a buck or two. The food is not overly seasoned or overly spicy. Likewise it is not especially bland. We like to meet our friends here for drinks or just for a quiet dinner. Occasionally will have live music on the deck and it's nice to sit out watch the sunset, and listen to live music with friends. Oh, and the reason I was struggling with that for star, is this most recent visit I think we got the newest staff member. After we got our food, we never saw her again. That was a shame, because we are good tippers, especially when we get taken care of. read more

This is a restaurant which is close to us and because of the proximity have eaten there numerous times. In addition, we ordered take-out from there almost every week. The food is fair but the service poor. They get something about the order wrong 90% of the time. It is hard to eat a fajita when they leave out the tortillas for example. When I tell them about the mistakes, they act like they could care less. They have never apologized once for the mistakes. We have decided that it is preferable to make a longer drive to a better restaurant where the staff cares about service than to waste our money at La Fiesta anymore. read more
