I specifically joined this LA fitness because of their Pilates reformer classes! I've been a member since January of this year and can say that I absolutely LOVE the classes. There is a wide range of instructors, but my faves are Anthony, Rena, and Eunice. I used to be a member of another Pilates studio, and the classes here have gone above and beyond that. Overall, I highly recommend taking a reformer Pilates class here. While I haven't used the other resources at the gym, they seem to have a good amount of cardio machines and weights, a basketball court, pool and sauna. read more

Whole situation was because after I was told by LA fitness when I got injured. my membership was freezed/canceled still had charges from the bank and I reported cancelled. Turned out they had two accounts of me. This is my updated review "I just learned that 'Christian' is the General Manager of this location. Honestly, as amusing as is this, explained a lot. As a small business owner, this entire situation is mind-blowing to me. Mistakes happen in every business. Billing errors happen. Miscommunication happens. What should never happen is a manager speaking to a customer with disrespect, constantly interrupting them, blaming them, and refusing to take accountability. If one of my employees treated a customer the way I was treated, they would be facing serious consequences immediately. Not because a mistake was made, but because of the attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for the customer experience. What I experienced felt less like customer service and more like a membership collection machine. I called because I was physically injured and unable to use the gym. I was told by another employee that I was not being charged anything and that everything was fine. Based on that information, I believed the issue had been resolved. Months later, I discovered I had continued to be charged. Instead of taking responsibility for the misinformation, I was blamed for not checking my bank account often enough. The most shocking part was being told that I should have been checking my bank account every day. As a single mother running a business seven days a week, I found that response insulting, dismissive, and completely disconnected from reality. One bad employee can hurt a business. A General Manager can define it. I hope the Regional Manager reads this review because this isn't just about a billing dispute. It's about how customers are treated. accountability was nonexistent, empathy was nonexistent, and the focus seemed to be on collecting fees rather than resolving a legitimate concern. I genuinely liked this gym and intended to return once my shoulder recovered. Instead, I canceled my membership and will never return. Christian didn't just lose a customer--he permanently changed my opinion of this location and the LA Fitness brand. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about my experience with LA Fitness in Chino." I suffered a serious shoulder injury and have been going through physical therapy. Since I was physically unable to use the gym, I called to freeze or cancel my membership. The employee who answered looked up my information and told me I wasn't being charged anything and that everything was fine. Based on that information, I believed the issue had been handled. They had two accounts of me based on where I lived and the number I changed. No further questions or concerns. Months later, I discovered I had continued to be charged approximately $40 per month. As a single mother working seven days a week, I don't review every transaction every day, and I trusted the information provided by LA Fitness staff. Afterward, Christian called me to discuss the account. Instead of listening to what had happened, he repeatedly interrupted me, spoke over me, very rudely and said it's illegal if I record. I didn't. and became argumentative. The conversation felt more focused on defending the charges and convincing me to keep paying than understanding why I had originally called to freeze my membership due to a legitimate injury. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of accountability. I was given incorrect information by LA Fitness, continued to be charged, and was then blamed for not catching it sooner. When I asked Christian what he would do if he were in my situation, he told me he would check his bank account every day. That response was dismissive, unrealistic, and unhelpful. I never asked for anything unreasonable. I wasn't trying to avoid paying. I simply wanted to temporarily freeze my membership while recovering from a serious shoulder injury. Instead, I received misinformation, continued billing, and poor customer service. LA Fitness may have a good gym, but customer service matters too. Also anyone knows how to deal with this situation let me know. This Christian had promised me a $40 refund and then he took it back. If I want to freeze I have to pay $10 anyway which was also okay. But his attitude poked me and I feel humiliated so I decided for that I would pay for the fee and walk away forever. Also, this is the gym that's in for your money. Please be careful. read more

This place desperately needs an expansion and rehaul. It's way overcrowded, but even without that, it would be a really middling gym. There's only two flat benches, one squat rack, and no deadlift platforms. There's also very few cable machines, missing dumbbells, and lots of machines with the added weight stack broken. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this gym truly deserves one! It's easily one of the best gyms I've ever been to. I'm all about positive energy, and this place has it in abundance. I always meet great people here, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which speaks volumes about the leadership. A special shout-out to the manager, Erick for making me feel at home the moment I walked in - he really sets the tone for the whole experience. I usually feel intimidated at gyms, but not here! The only thing I'd suggest improving is the smoothie bar. It's a bit inconsistent. I went by today at 12pm, and it was still closed, even though it was supposed to open at 10am. When I first came in, I was greeted by Brandon who gave excellent customer service very welcoming, professional, and ready to help me get signed up. The front desk staff were also great and created a positive first impression. Unfortunately, when I went to finalize my sign-up, Brandon was not available and I ended up working with Eric (the manager). Because the membership option I was interested in was just $10 over my budget, I expected a little more understanding and positive communication. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive, and the mannerisms left me with a bad impression. It was enough for me to choose not to sign up at this location and head to the Norco LA Fitness instead. I share this not to tear down, but to highlight an opportunity for growth in how conversations around pricing and budgets are handled. The right approach could turn a "not today" into a future member. This facility opens at 5 AM and their parking lot is completely dark. An extreme danger and risk hazard due to all the cracks and dips in their parking lot, which can easily cause somebody to trip and fall and get injured. Not to mention the risk to our vehicles being burglarized. I mentioned it to the employee sitting at the desk, who stated they would informed the manager and nothing has been done. read more

This is my gym and for the most part it's great. Robin and the older gentleman, who I believe might have been the manager, helped me sign up for Pilates and were very kind and helpful. For the most part, no complaints... except maybe the soap in the bathroom could smell better. However, today I experienced an issue with machine etiquette. A woman occupied the leg extension machine for about 45 minutes. When I politely asked how many sets she had left, she responded, "Oh me? Don't worry about it." I went to the front desk to let them know the machine was being monopolized during a busy time, but all that was said was, "Oh, so sorry." The gym is a place to work out and share equipment, and LA Fitness encourages members to be mindful of their time on machines, especially during peak hours. I would have appreciated staff support in reinforcing this basic gym etiquette so everyone can have a fair workout experience. read more

Horrible child care. Mary lets the children cry. She's too tired and lazy to do her job. When you leave your child to go work out, you want peace of mind that they're going to be taken care of. But Mary is OK with sitting at the computer the whole time while the kids are in distress. I understand you can't pick up the child. But you can at least walk them over to a toy and talk to them. Try to play with them and comfort them. Mary can't be bothered, do yourself a favor and find a different gym if you have children. read more

Be warned! LA Fitness is currently being sued by the FTC because they systematically try to stop people from cancelling their memberships by making it as inconvenient and convoluted as possible. Employees are trained to tell you they cannot cancel your membership for you (even though they can) and that you need to come back at specific hours to speak to a manager. You can't cancel online, by email, by phone, etc, even after your contract is up. They will keep auto-charging you, and taking your money. Google the lawsuit before you sign up for any location of this gym or any of its affiliates! read more

The front desk service and the manager at this gym really disappointed me -- the service was extremely poor! My wife is a member, and I was just 2 minutes late. Since she was in a yoga class and couldn't hear my call, I asked the front desk to help call her out to confirm that we have a membership. But they refused, saying it wasn't their job, and that my wife herself had to come to the entrance to see me. I waited for 20 minutes, and when I couldn't wait any longer, I registered online for a free pass trial just to get inside to call my wife. But after checking my ID, they said no, because I had previously registered as a member and therefore wasn't eligible for a free pass trial. Even though they could verify that my wife is indeed a member, they still wouldn't let me in, nor would they help me call her. I was honestly speechless. The front desk staff -- with blonde hair, eating while talking to me -- just told me, "I'm not going to help you call someone, that's not our job!" My goodness, when they sold us the membership, they promised excellent service, but after we signed up, there was none at all. They wouldn't even help me call someone who was just 20 meters away. I truly can't imagine how they treat their customers. On top of that, they even canceled my wife's membership card -- which is great, I suppose, so I don't have to go through the trouble of canceling it myself. read more

They're very expensive. They're cleaner than 24 hour fitness and that's the only thing I like about them. They rent a lane to a swim school that causes the pool to be overly crowded . I hate that. I froze my account. The people think they own the court end in basketball and see doing drills when I try and shoot around. That's bs crap . I'm glad I froze the account . La and 24 hour both suck . I've been a member for over 10 years and now have to share the dressing room, jacuzzi, showers, and pool with unsupervised children because they host a swimming class. They are jumping, splashing and blocking adults that are trying to do laps. I no longer have privacy when dressing or showering. I brought the matter up to the person at check in and he told me, "unfortunately, yes, I'm sorry but, they do have access all around the pool area, showers and dressing rooms. For the most part I like this gym, it's my home gym. I'm not one to write bad reviews either. The reason why I'm putting a one star is because of the horrendous experience I just had with the employee named James. I just wanted to come in and do my cardio but he pulled me over to the office claiming he was just going to check my BMI and fat percentage, which comes with the membership. When I asked if it would take long he said no. But it turned in a sales pitch for a personal trainer and once I realized I said I wasn't interested. But he pushed it over and over. I probably said no 15-20 times and he kept pushing it. And when I said I wanted to just come in and do my cardio and I don't appreciate him pushing this on me after I said no so many times he said that with all due respect I have free will??? He's the one that pulled me over and made me think it would be a quick fitness check. He kept pushing after I said no MULTIPLE TIMES. And then when I voice my frustration he turns the blame around on me?? That's straight up predatory behavior and so incredibly disrespectful. Literally the worst customer service I've ever received. He should've just said thank you for your time and let me go to my workout after I said no, but I literally had to storm out and leave. He is seriously making me consider switching locations or just cancelling my membership altogether. read more

CAUTION: LA Fitness in Chino Hills is a great place to work out,,,if you love to be on your CELL PHONE THE ENTIRE WORKOUT. Not sure what's worse, the Grandma and Grandpa sitting at a machine for 15 minutes,,,,,1 minute for their FOUR rep set and then another 14 minutes trying to see their screen thru 3/4" glasses. Or the 18-28 year old playing video games and texting 30 minutes out of their abysmal 35 minute workout. Try going early when the dinosaurs and young snowflakes aren't there to get a better workout. Only go from 4pm-8pm if you enjoy "Look at me, I'm here" egomaniac types. Other than that, at least they have a sauna, but tell "certain" people, in America, we wear clothes in the sauna.... read more

I absolutely love this gym. I've been coming here for the past seven years and have always had a great experience. I do wish they would go back to opening at 4 a.m., which they stopped after COVID. Overall, the staff is excellent. I've seen some mixed reviews about them, but I've personally never had a bad experience with any staff member. The same goes for the patrons. Over the years, I've seen different people come and go, as well as a core group of regulars. As Chino and Chino Hills have grown, the gym has gotten more crowded, but it's still manageable. Summer tends to be busier with high school students on break, but I usually go at 5 a.m. or 8 a.m. At 5 a.m., it's pretty open, while at 8 a.m. it's a bit more crowded but still not bad. Evenings are busier than I prefer, but I never have issues with parking. The one thing I think needs attention is the snack bar. Before COVID, they had vending machines, and the snack bar was always open, but now I never see anyone there. Besides that, the gym is great--super diverse with people from all walks of life and of all ages. Some patrons don't rack their weights, but that's not a reflection of the gym or its staff. The staff is friendly here at this gym. I go in the morning when they open and it is so extremely frustrating because 9 times out of 10 I want to use a flat bench to use the dumbbells, but every single bench is taken and the people are just sitting their scrolling on their phones, looking at themselves in the mirror with dumbbells on their lap or talking to friends. I rarely see people working out with intensity and pushing themselves which is how I like to workout. Other times people put all of their stuff down on the flat benches to own it and then don't even use the bench and they do standup exercises. It's really amazing the lack of gym etiquette and I blame this on the staff as they should put signs up and educate the members. And it's not just the dumbbell flat benches, the same thing happens with the squat racks and leg presses. The other day, I was waiting to use the leg press at 5:30 am and I swear the two people using the machines had their legs up ready to start the set but were frozen and it seemed like they were both asleep. One girl was doing a 4 rep set like every 10 minutes. I joined here to use the free weights but have pretty much given up on having intense strong workouts because of this issue so I mainly workout at the LA Fitness near my work instead as there is definitely better gym etiquette in there in the weight room and the weight room is bigger as well. It seems if they had a bigger weight room at this gym, there would not be this problem. The other problem is their sauna. It is not even hot. I can't even sweat in there. It is probably a very easy fix as well like a thermostat or heating element issues. I can probably diagnose it in 5 minutes and install the new part(s) in another 5 minutes. read more

Went to this gym today with a friend on guess pass for a Zumba class . Left my ID staff member Eric at the front desk . Upon returning to collect my ID I was abused by staff Eric as to why I'm not singing up today after one visit. He accused me of being a liar infront of other customers and refer to me as you people . The gym is really pretty. But they will lie to you there and they will rip you off. I paid for a training package for six months $194 a month for six months for $194.03 times a month I go I get 24 minutes of training. But it's not really training. She just shows me how to use machines and I was told there was a nutritional benefit with information that will help me lose weight. This is what I received from Joel Carb Sources *Oatmeal *White Rice *Brown Rice *White Potato *Ride Cakes *Quinoa *Ezekiel Bread *Sweet Potatoes *Fruit .100 calorie popcorn That list was the extent of to nutritional training that was included in my $194 a month training sessions. I went in the gym to cancel my training sessions a month ago. They did not cancel them now I'm trying to get my money back and they won't return my phone calls. I have let 3 messages. It's a scam. They are liars and they are high-pressure sales people to get you to buy these training sessions. If you don't need help with training and you just wanna go to use their equipment that's one thing but the employees there are shady and arrogant and pushy, and they lie. Despite COVID this place has been super prepared! Have to give a major shout out to Loren Hall and Sabrina who were extremely helpful in getting our membership situation sorted out. Understandably with the pandemic earlier in the year the gyms were closed but we managed to get our old (ie since 2002!) contract renewed with them. Loren spent an hour with us over the phone helping us contact corporate and it really went to our hearts that he took the time to help us! Totally made us feel like we were people he really cared about and we went from feeling like we'd been left out to dry versus welcomed back like family. If you're reading this Loren, my dad says thank you. Been going to this place my whole life- learned how to swim in this pool! Gave this place 3 stars on a prior review given no wet spa but I have to admit how impressed I am by not only their response to Covid with their new cleanliness but also their customer service. It's changed a lot since 2002 but all for the better- the facility has been renovated multiple times and the only thing I could have to say is it just keeps getting better! The cardio equipment is top of the line as well as the gym equipment. Seeing the cycling room get built was also exciting! The racquetball courts are always squeaky clean and the basketball court although currently closed is extra special to me because that's where my baby brother first beat me in our 1-on-1 games. Definitely encourage any of you out there who are looking to join a gym to try this place out! It gets three stars because it has the workout necessities....In order for it to receive five, would mean they get rid of the useless juice bar that's never open. I came from Chuze fitness and they have their employees running their juice bar which is more convenient for their customers. Probably why they're are the best gym around. It looks pretty all set up And they have fruits and vegetables but no matter if it's the weekend or weekday, they are closed. Just a thought, would probably bring more clientele if people didn't have to leave for a protein shake, and you don't even same RTD's for customers to purchase. read more
