This location needs to do a lot of cleaning house. They need either new management and definitely new hires. On Sunday May 25th they never showed up to open the gym at 8 am. There were tons of people standing outside waiting and unfortunately I stayed there until 9:30 am and nobody ever showed up to open the gym. I mean this is absolutely ridiculous! Came for a hopeful great workout session, but left 10 minutes later, cancelling my membership. Only at LA Fitness Katy - Cinco Ranch! My wife and I had (until few hours ago) a family plan since June 2024. We have a son who is in College and lives in another state, so we decided to add a Guest privilege to our plan and pay an additional $20/month, even if he would use a couple of times in the summer. As they assign the guest to one of us in the system, his guest privilege was linked to my wife's name. However, when he is in the Summer or other holidays and would go with him the front deck would quickly check that the guest was exactly the same and that I was also a member and would let him in. Then we got to today: my son and I were excited to get back to gym as he came home for the Summer, but for my surprise and totally differently from the other visits the attendant say we did not have any guest privileges in our account. I reminded them we pay that additional monthly fee and that my son went there multiple times with me (not with my wife) without any issues. Even so, they were insensitive and then we asked them to check my wife's account, and they finally found the guest privilege, but that my son would still not come in, as he was linked to my wife's name. I've reinforced that the guest was the same person and that I was also a member in the family plan. Then the manager came in and the hopes increased: I was wrong. After explaining all of that again, the manager suggested I transfer the guest privilege from my wife's account to mine (despite both of us being in the same family plan) and that the guest fees would be transferred from my wife's account to mine and I immediately agreed. However, to do the change, they required me to pay $27.50 for an upgrade and the manager could not waive that. At this point, with such ridiculous situation I've tried a last time to explain: my wife and I were in the same family plan, my son was the paid guest on the account and that I was not bringing a new guest and that he entered the gym with me multiple times before and if he could get in with me since I would not agree to pay an upgrade fee that was totally unfair and unnecessary. Eventually, tired and perplex with such non-sense situation and total lack of flexibility of the manager I ended up cancelling the membership right there. It is really unfortunate to see how LA Fitness can treat a customer that it is with them for more than a year and have so unprepared management, zero consideration with customers as well as the lack of consistency on how they handle their family plans. What a disappointment, LA Fitness! You could do differently and much better! read more

Great gym space! There is no lack of cardio machines and the best part is that they are new and have tvs to keep you in the zone or distracted from all the hard work you're putting in hahaha Very clean premises! *Cycle class is inspiring here. The instructor keeps your breathing right and encourages you through the ride by making sure you focus on your intent. read more

My fiancé and I have been coming here for over a year and are about to leave. Just finishing out my current year. This place is so mismanaged. Equipment is either broken or never put away after use. Management could care as less and just sits at the front desk doing nothing. Teens constantly gather to either TikTok and look at themselves in the mirror, all the while holding up all the machines from people who actually want to work out. The only good thing I can see is that the owner doesn't prey on all the women like pervert which is better than a precious gym I went too. Imagine paying $200 a month for a personal trainer and showing up TWICE to find that your trainer never shows up to your scheduled appointments. Imagine being told by the new replacement trainer at your second appointment with them that you'd never be able to accomplish your goals because they themselves are incapable of accomplishing said goals. Then imagine THAT trainer disappears from the schedule and there's no new trainer available for at least 2 weeks. All of this happened to us AFTER being promised by the PT Manager that there were 5am appointments (not a SINGLE trainer offered 5am appts) and that there would be regular tracking of BMI/Weight/goals (which also never happened after our initial trial appointment). And THEN, when I sincerely/calmly reached out to the club owner explaining everything that had happened, they unapologetically tell me that we're basically SOL. Even though we've been consistently let down by their personal training program, our only option is to pay $400 to buy our way out of their one-sided contract. One-sided meaning that only one side has to hold up their end of the deal. And to take it a step further, when providing written notification of membership cancellation, they proceeded to tell us that they can't accept that. Instead we were expected to let them waste even more of our time than they already had to go down there and cancel in person. But then they eventually backtracked and told us there is actually a way to do it through our online account. So, they lie to get you to buy into their program and then try to get you to jump through hoops to cancel when you realize it's nothing like they made it out to be. Overall, we didn't have any problems with the facility/gym membership itself, but we refuse to put anymore of our money into this place. read more

Popped in to take a quick look around. Was curtly told you need an escort. Didn't have that kind of time to be told "this is treadmill people walk/run on it". So I opted to leave. Upon the literal seconds within the facility it's VERY small and over crowded. Finally the staff person at the front desk is just unfriendly. read more

Kimberly B.'s review is pretty spot on, except I don't know anything about the preying on women comment. That aside, the place isn't filthy, but it's not clean in my opinion. The only cleaning I've ever seen out in the exercise area is mopping the floors. I've never seen them wipe down equipment, benches, dumbbells, anything. Staff sits at the front desk and listens for the beep when you check in. They barely look up from their phones and never walk the facility to make sure equipment isn't being misused or weights are being returned to their proper place. If you're an adult who wants to work out, this is not your spot. If you're a teenager who wants to hang out and make videos, this is your spot. read more

After more than a year and a half of going to this location, if I could give this place zero stars, I would and only after one horrible encounter with 'Matthew B.', who manages the personal training. After trying to force my husband and I to sign up for an 'onboarding' session (sales pitch for PT), he was extremely rude and starting cussing at us, told us we 'looked like we needed help', and said that I needed to 'prepare my body for a baby'. During the discussion, he also talked down and was extremely rude to his female staff, which is extremely uncalled for and disappointing. In addition, he called COVID-19 'fake' and discounted it, which is extremely dangerous misinformation. He claims to be a nutritionist, but he doesn't even have a degree. I would never, ever want to spend my money with a misogynistic human like him. It's really upsetting after I had only positive experiences here until this encounter - my husband and I will absolutely be canceling our membership and going elsewhere. I hope this review helps others avoid his hurtful and unnecessary lashing out, as you can read from many other reviews referencing his name. Someone stole my wallet. After I finished my workout, I went back to my locker to retrieve my keys and wallet. My keys were in there but my wallet was missing! Luckily I have an AirTag in my wallet, I used the Find My app and tracked it to someone else's locker and found it. All of my cash was gone. LA Fitness suggests that you should buy a padlock, although most of their members don't use them, but that doesn't mean that you should go to this place. The facility is ridden with grunge, and people with no gym etiquette. There have been countless times that I have seen people leave their equipment dirty and full of sweat. My worst experience with a member was when they were using 5 different weights at the same time, and there's only so much to go around. It's the other members that make the experience unbearable, I'll soon me switching my gym to Cinco Fit. read more

Facility is nice. "Lead Trainer" Matt is not. Seems to be a pretty cheery guy when he's talking to the women he trains or his bros. Pretty condescending and careless attitude for a "lead". Everyone else there is nice and courteous. Not sure how someone like that gets a "lead" position in a customer service based industry. I've had an LA Fitness membership for about 3 years and I just recently moved out to the Katy-Fulshear around about 6 months ago. I was seriously disappointed that the closest LA Fitness, when I initially made the move, was about 35 minutes away. Due to this issue, I was planning on cancelling my membership. A month passed and all of a sudden a large building started to develop. To my surprise, it was an LA Fitness! My girlfriend and I were ecstatic! Fast forward 6 months to this day and it is finally open! I've only been once (today), but this facility is fantastic! The equipment is all brand new and the staff seem friendly, as do the individuals at the gym. I can finally get back on track with my gym routine! Definitely take advantage of their free trial pass and see if it's right for you! The only issue I could see for some people is the fact that there isn't a basketball court, but if you don't plan on needing one, this location has all the equipment you need to get a fantastic workout in! read more

FIND ANOTHER GYM!!!! Edwin is the worst gym manager I've encountered. Terrible management! My sister signed up about a month prior and wanted to bring me as a guest but couldn't with the type of account she had. So she either had to upgrade or add on a family member that wouldn't have to pay an extra sign-up fee. The manager, Edwin, who creates the accounts and deals with finances HIGHLY recommended that she add me on as a family member to help save costs. We sat down, he added me into the system super quick and done. NOW, two months later, a 50$ charge was sent to my sister for my account as the annual fee. This was NEVER communicated to me as an added family member account NOR did I sign any kind of paperwork acknowledging that I understood the terms and conditions. We went in today to try to talk to him and get refunded for this amount and he was EXTREMELY rude. Like probably the worst management I've ever seen or dealt with. He was not apologetic at all and said it was my sisters responsibility to tell me what was all in the contract even though she signed up A MONTH BEFORE ME. Also, he claimed "this is why I don't like family accounts because people forget" when 1. He encouraged us to do the family account and set it up for us and 2. I never signed anything or was told by him that I would be coughing up an additional 50 dollars two months later. Completely unfair to expect customers under a family plan to just know these things. It is not our job to inform one another, it is his job and he should have told me all that I would be paying when he talked us into that account. On top of that, he was completely unprofessional with how he spoke and handled the matter and was disgustingly rude. He basically said "screw you, it was your fault that I didn't tell you or make you sign off on these terms and conditions. Good luck calling corporate." Absolutely absurd!!! Edwin took advantage of us and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and as a manager dealing with customers. We pay the gym so you get paid buddy so you should probably take better care of your customers and accept responsibility when something was your fault. On top of it all, he was not wearing a mask the whole time. Go somewhere where management actually cares and wants to help you when there was fault on their behalf. Equipment takes months to repair, for example the leg curling machine. There's only 2 and it's one of the lost used machines and one of them has been down for over a month. I have called twice to get a issue resolved, was told the issue would be resolved over the phone. When I called today to speak with the manager she said I had to come in for the issue to be resolved. No one at this gym is on the same page, the employees are obviously not properly trained if they told me it could be handled over the phone and the manager is insisting I come in even due to Covid going on. The manager was short with me on the phone, her name is Jessica, she was very unhelpful. She took no responsibility for her team telling me I could solve my issue over the phone. I'm trying to cancel my wife's membership as we haven't gone to LAFitness for a couple of months now because of COVID-19 but have been unsucessful. They don't have any way to cancel the membership online, no fax number to fax in the cancellation form, and when you call in to cancel you get put on hold until their system disconnects you!! I have belong to this club for one year. The management is lacking as the fans are turned off most of the time and the front desk people don't know how to turn them back on. Groups of teenagers come to hang out and have no respect for the people actually working out. going to look for a new gym even though this one is so close to my house. The place is OK. Equipment once broken takes forever to get fixed. Limited TV channel selections while using the equipment. Except Fox news channels which are ALWAYS available, there are no other network news channels except ABC. CNN is available some day but it is constantly being censored on other days when there are a lot of news activities. I know we do not come here to watch TV, but having something to watch makes the workout session faster and more pleasant. LA Fitness owner's political party should not be allowed to control what news channels the customers can watch. read more

Buyer beware! I joined La Fitness with good intentions. After much much marketing and encouragement from the personal training team I signed up. I was promised the world to sign-up only to be greeted with hostility and yelling from Matt the lead trainer. Reached out to the corporate office who needless to say was minimally supportive. Despite the fact that the incident was witnessed; and I didn't complete my sessions because of it, it's a battle to get reimbursed! Based on the reviews here, his behavior was known to management, but I guess that's not important. The classes were good, hence the reason for the 2 stars; but stay clear of the personal training program! read more

This location is a joke. I signed up a year ago for a regular membership, HIIT class and personal training, I couldn't attend all my personal training classes but they keep saying that if I have an active membership with them I could just save the sessions for any other time. I lost my job and when I signed up they explained that if I could not pay for the personal training session I could freeze them for 3 to 6 months, I tried that and the first time I went to talk to someone they said I had to do it before my billing date, second time I went to freeze it they told me they don't offer that option anymore. I ended up paying the WHOLE year of personal training sessions just to don't waste my money. I went today AGAIN to talk to Matt (who is in charge of the personal training department) to ask him if I needed to cancel the personal training sessions just in case it renew itself (like the membership), and he just freaked out, he barely let me talk and explain myself, he started to yelled at my like crazy telling me he was trying to help me and that I needed an extension and I will only pay $40 a month, which I said like 5 times that I don't want to pay even if that means I have to lose the sessions that I paid already. I don't know what is wrong with this guy, but I'm sure they need to hire professional people who can handle customers asking a SIMPLE question, literally everybody inside the gym was looking at him yelling at 2 young girls, I'm done with these unprofessional people. read more

This is an extraordinary facility with top of the line equipment, the staff is kind and helpful and the overall atmospheres is good vibes!

If your an adult and want to work out, forget coming here. This La Fitness in Richmond at 1093 & 1463 is absolutely terrible. First, it's filthy. None of the staff clean, they do nothing. Second, this place is a day care center after 2:30 when the kids get out of school. You'll have 4-6 kids from ages 14-18 taking turns on one machine all on there phones surfing the net, cutting up and playing grab ass. People here just come to meet up there friends, talk, take selfies and look at themselves in the mirrors all the while taking up benches, machines and workout stations while not using them. Nobody re-racks there weights. They just leave the machines loaded and walk away. Oh, and these kids are nasty too. I've been there 6 months (signed up for 6 month) and I've not seen one of these a-holes clean a machine after. When you ask the managers to enforce the phone policy or ask people to rack there weights they just say we're sorry but we can't tell people what to do with there phones or make them re- rack there weights. Then they ask you "would you like me to cancel your membership "? It's infuriating to work out here. Terrible environment so move on, find another gym if your an adult that wants to work out. This place sucks, sorry I ever joined it and presently looking for another gym with rules and enforce basic gym edicate. read more
