I recently visited LA Fitness Tinley Park as part of preparations for an upcoming launch. Unfortunately, we weren't able to accomplish the work we had planned because we couldn't access the areas we needed during our visit. We were informed that the necessary keys were unavailable at the time, which prevented us from completing our preparation. While that was disappointing, I hope processes can be put in place to ensure access is available for scheduled launch and project teams in the future. Better coordination would help avoid delays and allow everyone to make the most of their time on-site. I appreciate the staff who tried to assist us and hope the next visit goes much more smoothly.Be back mid July! read more

DISRESPECTFUL STAFF the gym has many different workout rooms and more of a variety of work outs to choose from. but the staff... I normally go with my friend thru his pass but I created my 3Day Pass. I went & the lady at the desk was nice & took me to their little office era where another younger girl was. she begin activating it and asking questions "do you have current gym now" i do not. not since December then she said " so you don't have any goal or plans you just plan on coming in for 3 days that's it ? " that right there... was out of pocket & unnecessary. the way she word it & the faces she made was very disrespectful and not appropriate for customers. that was NOT A FRIENDLY WELCOMING. then ended it off with a fake smirk. they need better staffing that's not 19-21 read more

Change the hours of operation. Why in the world do y'all close at 9:00pm on a Friday night and 7:00pm on Saturday/Sunday? That's terrible for someone like me who gets off work late and want to go to the gym to get a lift in. That's terrible and your customers think so too. read more

The pool is always cold Very very cold! I called early in the day asking them to heat the pool. I was told 1) last week the heater was broken (no one mentioned that to us when we were freezing). 2) The pool will be heated since we had a class this morning. Called them at 1:00 pm. Used to have a membership but canceled it and recently reopened account and right off the bat I'm noticing huge things that simply shouldn't be... 1st off the place is filthy, half the lobby area lockers broken and they are no longer heating the pool. With all honesty this place should in no way be A SIGNATURE club. It's horrible. read more

I've been a member of this club for 3+ years and never had a problem until the recent change in management. The general manager spent over 15 minutes chatting with a female customer but couldn't seem to give the time of day to other members. the club is consistently out of order and the workers have been extremely unprofessional. read more

Update 5/20/22: so I wrote this review 16 days ago and mentioned I mailed in my cancelation form as instructed. I have yet to receive an email saying it's been canceled. They're probably gonna say they never received it then charge us again. I will try to cancel in person. If you're looking for a gym that has cardio machines, weight machines and other equipment, this place has it. However, if all you need is cardio and weight machines, I say save your money and go to a Planet Fitness. Cheaper and has the same equipment. Place is OK, nothing special but my real complaint is the staff and their personal training program. Before I go on, I will say that the trainers were all fine. Kept us working hard but the people running this place is why I give it a one star. My husband and I started going here in October 2021. We got caught in being sold a trainer program and thought it should be fine. We needed to learn different workouts so having someone give us knowledge benefited us. From October 2021 - early January 2021, everything was fine. We did our training every week and we were improving and learning a lot from her. Then she told us she was leaving, which to me is fine. People come and go. We heard NOTHING from the gym on what their plans were to get us back on track. We kept asking to see someone but they said they were gonna call us back. No calls. Finally in mid February, we got a new trainer. He was great too. Taught us good form and everything. Then suddenly he left without a word. Again, no one from the gym contacted us. We had to again keep asking to talk to someone. We pretended we wanted to talk about membership and we spoke to someone before telling them it was about training. That's when we finally got to talk to someone. He told us the same old story of them having another trainer on the way. At this point we didn't care anymore. We canceled the training program and had to pay half of the remaining sessions we had on the contract. We just needed to finish off the month. After two sessions with the new trainer, we get a message from him that he has something personal happen and he won't be able to make sessions until further notice. No word from the gym on how they'll handle our remaining sessions. As of today, we still have 13 sessions left. Between 6 months, we had 3 trainers and over 2 months worth of sessions. What a joke of a program. I printed out the form to cancel my membership and will be mailing it out. I will stay away from LA Fitness and any of their subsidiaries. read more

I've been a member here for about a year now. In the past year it went from mediocre to disgusting. Today 11/29/23 was the final straw for me to decide to cancel my membership. This place is disgusting every single day, I don't think it gets cleaned. Ever. But today was special as there were two bottles full of pee in the sauna. The staff sits around on their phones not doing a thing. In the past year I've walked in well over 50 times without even having to scan my membership. Come on people this place has become completely disgusting. I've been coming here for over 10 years and it has turned to crap. Two clubs in the area closed and we unfortunately picked up those memberships. Weights all over the floor, these stupid wipes (no more paper towels) tossed everywhere and nobody at the front desk does anything but sit on their cell phones. A manager or GM needs to changes things as we are losing the members that kept me coming back. I can not believe the board of health has not shut the place down. I just got a membership 2 days ago and did the 2 day trial before that everything was good until I bought the membership of course... they are always out of wipes and this location is DIRTY !!! Women's bathroom/ Locker room is disgusting! I asked the front desk lady for some wipes and she said they were OUT!!! How are you out of wipes and it's been 2 DAYS! That is a health hazard. For how much you pay for this membership you shouldn't have to purchase your own Clorox wipes! read more

This is a dirty and stinking foul-smelling gym. The bathrooms aren't cleaned at all and the floors are soaked in urine used toilet paper etc. The lockers smell too there's nothing good to say about this gym that used to be one of the best. I guess that the corporation is closing out the few remaining gyms. read more

This place is a dump, honest to god. I'm currently writing this as I'm sitting in the sauna with garbage all over the floor. The bathroom and locker room also have paper towels all on the floor and just messy. Weights are never correctly placed back, even in the morning, I was the first customer in I walk to the free weights and they are just scattered everywhere. If you ever think about getting a membership here, please think twice seriously. I can bet you there are tons of better options than this place. A desk worker walked up to me as I'm fixing my headphones to listen to my music, to tell me to turn it down with an attitude. I wasn't aware it was playing out loud, it disconnected from my headphones. When I heard it, he touched me and told me turn it off. They do not live up to their word. I was offered a free two month trial after a friend of mine took out a two month paid membership and when my first month lapsed I came into the gym and was asked to speak to the new GM. After waiting over 20 minutes for the GM to see me I left. He had no intention of seeing me or extending the offer as promised by the prior GM (last month) as he knew I was waiting and purposefully had me wait. I was informed by the woman at the front desk as I left that the former GM who offered it to me recently left and shouldn't have offered me that offer. My friend was there at the time the offer was extended as a courtesy to entice him to extend his membership after his two month paid membership and can collaborate my claims. Needless to say after speaking to my friend he will NOT be renewing his membership and will take his business elsewhere. You can see they aren't able to keep GM's at the local level which says a lot...so if turnover is that rampant and more importantly they don't honor their word you can't trust them. Trust is a huge issue. With so many gym options available and supposedly the financial investment they made into this location you wouldn't think they'd want to dick around potential and future patrons. Untrustworthy and bad business model. Not overly impressed with this facility either. read more

Usually I love this gym and location. First time being back since COVID and you would think that the world was back to normal. Very little safety precautions are being taken. The person at the front took my temp from two feet away, which cannot be accurate, they aren't enforcing Masks while working out inside, the equipment in the free weight area is not 6 feet away from each other. I had the hardest time finding sanitizer, which should be more accessible than usual I would think. I will be thinking again before going back purely for my own safety and the safety of the community. read more

Had an absolutely phenomenal experience a this gym. I went to Tinley Park and they helped resolve an issue I had gotten into an a different LA fitness. They have a very knowledgeable staff. Very professional and helpful. Staff went above and beyond to instill what LA fitness staff is really about. They answered all my questions. They also gave me all of my paperwork and informed me of every step I was taking when I was signing up. They were not sneaky and sly. They were up front about all costs and fees. I would highly recommend this gym. It was clean and upgraded. Looking forward to interacting with the staff since I am now a member. Thank you Tinley Park for all your help. :) read more

I've been a 5 day a week average attending member here since 2009 in Tinley Park. This gym is know for constantly having multiple machines & other exercise equipment. Lots of interchangeable barbell connections seems to disappear & never get replaced. Toilets & sinks are always broken with no posted signs. Soap or paper towels are frequently gone. Things never seem to get fixed. Especially workout machines do NOT get fixed for a few months. Staff is aware & never seem to care. The staff is another major issue, which I won't get into besides there should be a full house clean out. THIS GYM NEEDS A FRESH START!!! read more

I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. MISTAKE 1 I did sign up. MISTAKE 2 I made an appointment with the trainer for the following day at 9 am, within 2 hours of making that appointment I called back and rescheduled. Apparently that didn't matter as I got a call at 9:01am asking where I was. I was told that the reschedule was not in the books, but he did see my appointment at 7. (so is it in the books or not?) Then because life happens I did need to cancel my appointment at 7 I called and said I would reschedule. The girl told me I could not use the club until I made the appointment. Ok Then a fairly rude message was left on my machine asking about my 7 o'clock appointment. Hmm apparently there is NO communication there!! Then I called back and spoke to the manager Chris. He said he had a great club there, blah, blah, blah I asked if he read the reviews~ HE HUNG UP!! I called back for the corporate number and they gave me a IT support number, apparently they are hiding something! I live and work within walking distance to this club and I really would of liked to use them, very sad at this behavior. The sales people will tell you that they are working on the things listed in the reviews, which I do believe they are trying but you can only do so much. But they will tell you there are camera's in the parking lots; none can be seen and the Tinley Park police do not agree. They said the bathrooms are cleaned twice a day; then admitted that there are few janitorial staff and that they called in the day I was there. They also said that there typical turnover is a few months. Yea I wouldn't think that working for a company like that is very good. MOST ANNOYING SALES STAFF EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went in there on a 3 day guest pass that I had. The annoying sales man was worse than a car salesman. He wanted me to sit at his computer any type my friends' names and phone numbers in, so he could call them and get them to sign up!! Uh, NO! They'll be really mad at me if I do that! He then gave me some really long boring tour, and tried to force personal training on me. Yeah, no. I just wanted to try the gym out. So I'm working out, and he approached me and gave me these cards and told me to have my friends fill them out (their names, addresses, and numbers) and bring them back to him. Yeah, homework? I don't think so! And again, NO he is not going to have my friends info so he can bother them! Well, he did it to me! He kept calling me trying to get me to sign up after the 3 days were over. He wouldn't shut up. So I purposely didn't sign up there, because that place is clearly all about sales and money. Worse than a used car dealership. They make me sick. And I saw an LA Fitness employee in the parking lot at Walmart a couple weeks ago trying to get people to sign up. If he came up to me I was gonna call the cops on him, I swear. read more

I went here 4 times a week for 4 months and most of the staff didn't even bother to give me the time of day and if I asked them a question, they wouldn't give me the time of day. Plus, when I signed up, I paid $40/month but later there was a promotion and they kept saying that they would lower my price and never did it. Frankly, you'd be better off going to Life Time if you can afford it or Charter Fitness if you want something on a budget. read more

I'm visiting Chicago from Los Angeles, our LA Fitness Clubs in LA are nowhere near as nice as the LA Fitness clubs I've seen in the Chicagoland area. I've actually only been to two clubs but both the Alsip and Tinley Park locations have great equipment, facilities were clean, staff friendly and not-smelly locker men's locker room, Big +... The best part of my experience have been the spin classes, I haven't had a bad instructor yet and the instructor on Friday at 9:15AM (Craig Harris) may be one of the best instructors I've ever seen, This guy worked us out for an hour and a half, kept the class involved, entertained, educated, busted-ass, and totally made me want to have my instructors back home learn from this guy. We've got great instructors in LA but Craig is one of a kind and I guarantee you'll never experience as fun of a class until you take this one. Thanks Craig and LA Fitness. Ray Z read more

Great club and the membership manager Hector is an honest and straightforward guy who is happy to work with you in Enrollment. Club is always clean, equipment is available and staff is extremely courteous and friendly. A trainer also approached me about correcting my squat form and, unlike other gyms, was not just trying to get me to buy his services - I can tell it was out of genuine concern for my well-being. I highly recommend this gym to any beginner, intermediate, or advanced Fitness enthusiast! A+++! read more

I have been a member at LA Fitness for about 4 years now, but finally cancelled my membership yesterday. It's a dirty gym, the locker rooms are creepy with a lot of theft reported and the pool is almost always filled with kids swimming lesson classes, so it's unusable when I want to swim. I don't know why I've stayed there so long. I guess you know people who are there, and you just feel comfortable. But they closed the gym yesterday for 6 WEEKS!!! (if they reopen on time) to remodel. Understandable since it's so rundown and icky, but the final straw was when the desk girl said that you have to continue paying the whole time they're closed, because they expect you to find transportation to one of the other locations. I can't do that. I just felt so irritated that I decided to get a membership somewhere else. I'm so happy I did! I won't miss it at all. read more

Craig's Class is challenging but fun and entertaining which makes it seem like you have not just pedaled 24+ miles and burned over 1000+ calories (depends on the person and how hard you push).
