I have had the pleasure of working with Josh as my trainer and he is great. Not only is he friendly and so easy to talk to, he understands my limitations and works with me. Moreover, Josh is helpful - he explains what each exercise is working on , he will adjust the routine to fit my needs and he has helped me with problems I was having at the moment by showing me a technique that helps. I have been a member here for 17 years. The facility itself is good and has everything you would expect. My problem is with the LA fitness policy. They open the gym and I do not want to go due to COVID. I went to freeze my account and it cost $10/mo not to go!Really? I can get a membership down the road for the freeze price. So I go to cancel my membership and you can't do it online. You have to sign a form and hand deliver or mail to them. So I did. Next day I get an email that says sign up again and we will let u freeze your account for 3 months. Really? Thanks but no thanks Covid will be here for another year? Can you say clueless? It's a nice gym. Not the greatest but not the worst either. I've been coming here on and off for several years now. The staff is friendly, it's not too crowded, you can get a decent workout in with a large variety of machines, and the gym plus bathrooms got remodeled a few years ago so you can tell they care (unfortunately they removed the smoothie bar). However my main complaint is how long it takes them to fix problems. For instance, a few years ago the cable pulley machine was broken for what felt like an eternity before it was finally fixed. Then there was an issue with the lights flickering on and off on the basketball courts for yet another eternity. Now we are up to several of the treadmills skipping and slipping (belt calibration issues perhaps or maybe wear and tear). In addition, the parking lot has been taken apart due to some large depressions in the concrete and it hasn't been put back together for a few months so part of the lot is closed off. If you come early in the morning, the steamroom temperature varies daily. One day it'll be 90F, another it'll be 180F, and another it'll be 130F. There's also the free WiFi which works on some days but not on others. Overall, it's a nice gym but there are inconsistencies and it could be improved. read more

Equipment hasn't been updated in years! The one trainer screams during every set throws weights and doesn't rerack anything. Pure representation of the location and the GM who sits at his desk all day and makes no changes. Lockers are super small, floor usually looks dirty, shower floors are kind of gross... so in a word, "cleanliness" is poor. Clorox and a mop would be a welcome site and smell! this is my home gym. it has been since 2002 (i think) when it opened. i have been to dozens of lafitnesses and their m.o. is to NEVER replace equipment. well in the fall of 2012 this place got new equipment and a new gymnasium floor. it feels feels brand new. i would rather go a few miles out of my way to another newer facility most days but all that has changed. way to go. kudos. right on. solid! word! I love this gym- it is always clean, everyone is super friendly, and I have never had trouble getting a machine. I do notice that it tends to get crowded in the early evening; however, there are a lot of machines to use. The lay-out of the equipment is by muscle group which is very helpful for me! I went into this gym mainly for the pool, as I love to swim, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that a chain fitness center was so well- run. I admit that the initial push for personal training was a bit much and I was not thrilled with the exercises they introduced into a workout, so I passed on training. I would have liked to have a trainer in the beginning to re-introduce some of the machines to me as I worked with weight training in a couple of years. Although the facility looks okay (I like Bally Total Fitness better), the Customer Service and Management is the worse I've ever seen. Have you ever gone through a frustration with Comcast Customer Service? Well, I thought there wouldn't be anything worse than that until I recently went through some issues with LA Fitness in Warrington, PA. Total disrespect with its members. The same members whose make possible for the business to stay afloat. As a business owner myself, I learned very early that our Customers are the most important thing to care for if you want to be successful. Treat them well, respect them and give them attention. They will soon bring other customers to your door. You do otherwise, you'll feel the pain of not only losing a Customer but potentially, many others. Statistics say, every customer can potentially bring other 2 to 3 new customers to visit your business if they are happy but also prevent about 5 to 7 to even give you a try. That's why I'm writing this review during my working hours, just to express my frustration. I recently joined the club and at the time everything seemed okay to me, The Personal Trainer Director (if it can be called this way) seemed to know what he was talking about until I realize days later, that he was totally unprepared to signup new members. I brought the issue to his attention and I was told he would take care of that by contacting management. This happened 3 times. Since I never heard from anybody, I decided to contact management myself. We'll he wasn't at the club at the time, I asked the attendant to give him a message. 2 days later, I still didn't hear back. I called again, another 2 days and no response. I called for the 3rd time and was put straight to his voice mail, message and again no call back. Called again, and left another message expressing all my frustration about not getting a call back. I finally received an apologetic call back next day morning. After discussing the issues, I was promised a call back at the end of the day. Guess what? Never happened and I was already expecting that. I still tried to call a couple more times trying to resolve things peacefully, but no answer. I also contacted the Corporate Office - Member Services in California. Yes, they also promised me a call back with a resolution. It's been over a week now and I still didn't receive a call back. They believe, ignoring the issue will make it go away. They should know better. We're in the age of Social Media. It's not going away and I'll make sure it won't anytime soon. The Better Business Bureau will also be notified. Even though I would love to, I was told by my Attorney not to mention any names on this review. If these guys consider themselves managers of anything, they should go back to school. Ignoring me, was the worse thing they could have ever done. With all being said, due to all frustrations I've been through, I DO NOT recommend LA Fitness, Warrington, PA in any way. There are definitely better options out there. Bally Total Fitness and Planet Fitness are one of them. Good Luck. read more

This causes an issue for me in the morning when I workout before work and I have to wait for others to get out of the shower. I've been a member here since 2008. I joined strictly because of the water aerobics program. Recently, the club changed the days of the week the classes were held on with absolutely no prior notice or explanation. Consequently, people showed up for classes that were not held and lane swimmers showed up to swim only to find out there was now a class on Mon or Weds evening when it had been Tues and Thursday. This shows a complete disregard for their clientele. The pool smells old and mildewed. The shower room is disgusting as is the hot tub. With Huntingdon Valley LA Fitness so close, one could attend water aerobic classes any evening (with the exception of Friday). Now, its Monday and/or Wednesday and that's it. PLEASE CHANGE BACK TO TUES. / THURS.!!! I will say the new manager is trying to be more helpful and has made sure the pool water temp is above freezing now, so that is progress. Also, the calibre of most of the instructors for the water aerobics classes that I have seen are not very good. Only have seen one or two that actually enjoyed the class and only one who actually gets in the water. The others are too busy preening or gabbing or whatnot. read more

I joined LA fitness about 3 months ago. Overall, I find the facility pretty good. The staff, especially Jason, are very nice. Everyone always greets you with a smile. I do have a couple of gripes: LA Fitness needs to offer some personal training to its members without costing an arm and a leg. All the other gyms I visited design a program for the members and make sure that the members know how to properly use all the equipment. I was offered one "free" personal training session upon enrollment. I was given a choice as to which part of my body I wanted to work and then spent about 30 minutes with a trainer on this area of my body. I was then taken back to his desk where I was presented with a very oushy sales pitch to enroll in the personal training program. Unfortunately I just can't afford an additional $129 down payment and then at least 40 dollars more per month, so know more personal training for me. As a middle aged woman returning back to a fitness program, I would definately benefit from some type of plan put together for me to ensure that I working out safely and appropriately. Instead, I feel that I am constantly being watched by the personal training sales staff and approached constantly about buying the personal training program. It makes me feel very self-conscious on the floor. The other issue I have is with the number of ellipticals. In the evening and on the weekends, there is always a wait for an elliptical. I suggest getting rid of the row of stair climbers (or at least most of them) that are always empty and replacing them with more ellipticals. Finally, the pool area needs to be updated. The showers are gross and the hot tub is absolutely disgusting at times. I have seen gray slime floating on top of it and once there was a really foul smell coming from it. Other than that, I enjoy my time at LA Fitness. read more

However, the lead trainer, Ryan, lies to get contracts signed. They also do not have many hours available after a regular work day even though you will be assured that they do. Ryan will promise to be available and then not return calls or texts. Do NOT sign up for training or believe anything Ryan tells you. These three stars are for the gym....not because they don't have all the facilities required for training and fitness, but because the place seems to be mismanaged. The place is not really, for all intensive purposes, an old establishment but they seem to be letting it go to the dogs. The granite sink in the locker room is split in pieces and just hanging off the wall for months. The sauna has been "out of order" for over a month as well and there's many other things. This is a nice gym with pretty new high quality equipment. It's a shame if it continues to go to waste. read more

I've been going to LA fitness for over 8 years, I've been to quite a few locations. This gym is the close to my house and work. They are always cleaning the place, she's not too bad on the eyes either. Gripes are the constant stream of new hires they have, they never last too long. They make them walk around and talk to you while your working out. Often handing you a free two week membership for a friend or trying to sell you training sessions. The locker room needs a make over, they had carpet and they switched to tile... it's not an upgrade. The lockers, equipment, carpets, walls, juice bar, basketball and hand ball courts could all use a little help. It's just showing its age, there is a new planet fitness near by. That club is dirt cheap, but doesn't offer as much and lacks the full time cleaning staff a gym requires. To their credit they offer some kind of free training program and all their equipment is top shelf and new. I skipped a year and went there, the first year they opened I got a $99 yr offer. I went back to LA, buy 3 or 4 years at a shot for decent price. Since they have so many locations, LA is pretty good deal. read more

I have been a member of this location since it opened. I have gone to other LA Fitness's in Bucks and Montgomery Counties and have found that the Warrington location has the best janitorial service. From the glass on the front doors to the floor and mirrors in the Pilates room to the bathrooms. Kudos to the manager that runs this place. read more

This LA Fitness is the best in the area, hands down! The facility is the neatest and cleanest of all the clubs in the area. The Big Bald Manager and the Shorter Dark Haired manager create an at home environment with members, making everyone feel welcome and part of the family. They take pride in the facility by going around and cleaning up the place, and replacing the weights some people leave on the equipment. In recent months, I've been going to some of the other LA Fitness in the area based on the proximity to my daily work schedule. I realize this is one of the older facilities in the area, but there needs to be some serious upgrading. It doesn't even compare to the Oxford Valley, Montgomeryville, or Ft. washington locations. The TV's are old tubes and you can't plug into the sound via your headphones. Ideally, they would be upgraded to flatscreens, and ESPN be shown on some of the TV's. Not everyone wants to watch Bravo in the morning. ESPN is one of the few things you can watch without sound while on the cardio equipment. The treadmills could use an upgrade as well. Weights are weights, and I'm fine with all of that equipment. The locker room could use an upgrade, and maybe the addition of a steamroom, like some of the other locations. As far as the staff goes, I've found everyone to be very friendly and accommodating. Just feel like the main issue is an overall upgrade and ESPN, especially in the mornings. read more

I think one of the pictures posted is the actual LA Fitness. I have been at this gym for about 4-5 years, mostly due to convenience. The most recent manager Jason seems nice. Not so for of most of the staff otherwise. Most of the front desk girls only seem to be there to flirt, and only greet guests when management is in their presence. Equipment is limited. They could use another leg press, only one does not suffice noting the range of weights people use. It is not always conducive to working in with people. They should also probably fork out the money for the dumbells from 130-150 lbs as the space where they belong is empty and waiting for them. For starters the machines both cardio and weight machines are old and outdated. The place is dirty and the staff is poorly trained and mismanaged. I use this gym as my main gym but do use other La Fitness clubs that are so much better. The manager behind the desk is so unfriendly where every other club has friendly outgoing people to greet the members. What happened to fitness instructors? Never at La fitness I feel bad for people who come in not knowing what they need to do. The trainers get paid so little they won't help nor should they for no pay. I have been going to the Body Works & Abs classes everyday for over a month now. I LOVE the Kim & Debra! I have to say the floor is slippery at times and the free weights need to be put into another type of holder, the one it is in is old and the weights are always mixed up! I did try some of the machines and a bunch of them are rusty and the televisions are outdated, as well as some of the equipment. When I had my free personal trainer for one hour after joining he was very attentive. After the work out , we sat at his desk and he really tried to push me into signing a contract for a trainer, I told him I could not afford this since I have been out of work. He asked me if I got unemployment!! Really not very professional at all. And also when I asked him about the classes he did not think they really did anything. Now if I see him at the gym he does not even say hello. The girls at the front desk are very friendly. I know this gym is 10 years old and have seen the LA just built at Grant Ave, since my husband works for the company who did the electrical. The best thing about this fitness club are the classes. Kristin is one of the many amazing instructors who teached Boot camp and Body Works plus Abs. The machines are always clean, as is the bathrooms and showers. My only issues are some of the staff: sometimes the front desk people don't even say hello. The manager, who is a young man, has never smiled or said hello to me in the 3 years that I've been a member. Finally, the some of the women working in the Kids Club play on their cell phones or simply turn the TV on for the kids instead of playing or interacting with them, which is a major negative for me, since I take my kids there. Equipment is old and dirty. Can never find any dumbbells as they are all over the gym and not in place. Membership manager is a absolute jerk thinks he is better than anyone else. Trainers are even a bigger joke. If anyone is certified it's because they got it off the Internet. They never pay attention to their clients and really have no idea what they are doing. People's forms are a disgrace and the trainer does nothing to correct them. All the trainers are ore ore interested in watching girls or their cell phones instead of clients. As someone with a degree in exercise physiology and a trainer and group fitness instructor for over 30 years I find the entire training department a disgrace. Instructors teaching the classes have no idea about safety and it seems like when someone takes a class for a while they are asked to teach here. This is unacceptable. Same with the water instructors. No idea what they are doing. Overall, the club is old, dirty and pretty much a disgrace. You never see anyone cleaning anything in the place, let alone the equipment. It's disgusting. And not just this club. Same thing happens at most la fitness. Disgrace. read more

quit my membership months ago and they will not stop charging me. call a couple times a week always the same answer that manager will call me back but they never do. reason i quit was the girl who watches the daycare was asleep when i went in to get my 3 year old. complained about that while quitting and they acted like they could care less. really bad company. beware all they care about is your money and definitely do not trust them to watch your child while you are working out. not worth the risk. read more
