    Cardio area

Your normal, run of the mill big box gym. We were members here 10 years ago and just rejoined due to kids club and proximity. The gym has NOT changed since we were members. Same equipment, layout, flooring and even music. Staff is all different, some friendly, some have zero cares or welcoming. They have 1 large room for group fitness classes, an upstairs cardio area with treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers and rowers, a small cycle room, functional training area, lots of machine and free weights. The gym is a little outdated in my opinion. The floor in the training area is cracking, mats are ripped and ragid, balls are filthy from stains. They're still playing Chris daughtery and Neo music from the early 2000's. Our main draw here was the kids club offering. Kids club staff are super sweet. Two lovely ladies with a little playground, blocks, a car and bouncers for littles. We've been there with 5 kids and as many as 12. (Kids club is extra to your regular membership) Overall, it gets the job done. If you don't need kids club or group training classes, I'd say a $9.99 gym will do the trick. They do have personal trainers here that have always been very welcoming and kind.

It's okay, the equipment is somewhat out of date and worn, the shop doesn't have everything I want so I'm going to have to check out other shops to see if I can put together a complete gym

Annnd just in case you didn't know, I'm not a fan I've driving in traffic! You can tell that every coach at OBF enjoy their jobs. They take their time to not only guide you through each workout but they go out of their way to make sure each individual is comfortable doing each exercise correctly. If need be, a different movement or lift can be subbed in. Hitting a PR and cheering you on to work harder is just as important as scaling when you need to OR slowing up the pace. They have Crossfit classes that include weightlifting lifts and various high intensity (HIT) workouts. There are also bootcamp classes to get your heart racing. Either (or both) classes are sure to keep you moving and shaking. Note : There are various classes in the a.m. and p.m. for both Crossfit and boot camp. There are showers upstairs if you need, great perk if you need to get to work after. Also, the parking lot is located within a shopping plaza with plenty of spaces. Added bonus: The staff and members are amazing! Everyone is super nice and fun. We not only help each other out, we crack jokes and plan social events. We are one giant team of friends cheering each other on in and outside of the gym. That makes all the gasping for air and sweating 1000 times more enjoyable!

There is plenty of parking with a little overflow parking area that I've had to use a couple times. They have a recovery zone with 3 or 4 hydromassage beds. They limit the time to 10 minutes. There is also a tanning bed. What they don't offer is childcare. I feel they could've designed the space a bit differently to add the childcare. They have many different types of machines, some more popular than others, of course. Wipe stations are everywhere which is convenient. They have a 2nd floor with treadmills, bikes and the group fitness studio. It has stairs and a single person open air lift elevator to help disabled members upstairs. Although, when I was experiencing mobility issues, when they first opened, they only had a couple people up front who knew how to use it. I had to call someone up front from my cell phone when I was ready to come back down. It isn't set up to let you go up and down on your own, which is very inconvenient and inconsiderate to someone with disabilities. They really should redesign the elevator to a closed elevator and allow members independent access to it like they have at other locations.

It expresses regret about the other person's feelings rather than taking responsibility for the action that caused them. They have the rudest staff. Unethical business practices. What I love about this YMCA location is that there is ample equipment and I am able to get a productive workout complete. So far all machines that I have used are in great working condition. Other members too are able to get their workout done with ease unlike other locations where people are on their phone, taking up the machines and not actually using them efficiently. My only one complaint is that I have unable to use the sauna due to it being out of order. Hopefully, they're able to repair it soon. I have also heard and read in other reviews that it is frequently being repaired. Hopefully that gets resolved soon.

First, I do want to say the staff were absolutely lovely. We arrived before everything was already set up, and they let my two young children help with scattering some of the eggs beforehand, which was a really kind and memorable touch. They were also great about sharing information on other programs, including a YMCA date night service where parents can drop off their kids while they enjoy dinner and a movie, which honestly sounds like something we might try in the future. The setup itself was a classic "scatter and go" format, with plastic eggs spread across a field and kids released at the same time. While exciting, it always makes things pretty chaotic, and our two-year-old ended up with candy like hard Jolly Ranchers and gum, which aren't really appropriate for toddlers and felt like a bit of a miss given the age range advertised for the section we were told to participate in. For future events, it would be great if the eggs in the under-3 section were filled only with toddler-appropriate items to help avoid potential choking hazards and make the experience more enjoyable, and less stressful, for parents of little ones. The bigger issue, though, was the "golden egg" system. The idea is great, special eggs with prizes inside, but in practice it created some awkward dynamics. We saw families staking out golden eggs ahead of time, including one instance where a parent encouraged their child to literally sit with their hand on an egg before the event started. I'm not here to judge anyone, but it did take away from the fairness and fun of the hunt. A simple fix would be to go more "Willy Wonka" style next time, hide the golden prize as a surprise inside regular eggs rather than making them visible targets. That would keep the excitement while making things feel a lot more equitable for all kids. Overall, a fun event with great staff and good energy, but a few thoughtful tweaks could make it much more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.

I signed up for a "Legs" class. There wasn't an explanation as to how the class worked, but the instructor did walk through how to do the exercises at the 5 different stations. Once the timer started, I was able to ask how the class worked. It's kind of set up like F45 where you start at a station, stay there for an amount of time (for this class it was 8 minutes), and then go to the next station. They had the monitors set up at each station to remind you of the exercises. (This class was weights, not cardio like F45, so don't be scared if you hate cardio.) Once we were off, we were pretty much on our own until the final 10 seconds of each station. That being said, I definitely wouldn't call this a beginner class. The class is as hard as you make it because you pick your tempo and weights, but if you have never lifted before, I wouldn't start here. This class is best for people who already have some knowledge of form and what their starting weight should be to avoid injuries. They do have a lot of heavy plates and dumbbells, a turf space, sand bags, and wall balls. It looks like they'd be a great Hyrox gym, but I didn't see any Hyrox classes on the website.
