    We felt extremely comfortable with Vanessa ever since our first phone consultation. Due to Covid, we did not meet until our wedding day but had no doubt that her and her team would deliver! Vanessa is so easy to talk to and understood our floral vibe, all while giving options and suggestions to keep us within budget. We would choose La Flor over and over again without hesitation!

    Vanessa and her team were PHENOMENAL! From the get-go Vanessa was a stellar communicator and and she was so helpful in giving me ideas/helping me to envision the layout for my wedding ceremony/reception! I'm not someone who knows that much about flowers so it was incredibly helpful having her talk me through ideas/do a walk through of the space with us! I basically told her our color scheme and Vanessa just ran with it! Our wedding was on 12/29/19 at Waimea Valley and seriously Vanessa and her team knocked it out of the park! Everything was just STUNNING! From our arch, to the hakus and bouquets, to the table arrangements, hanging greenery chandelier and special hair pieces for me/our moms- it was all utterly gorgeous and so thoughtfully done! Vanessa and her team did it all - including just cheering us on and making us feel so special! As someone who doesn't care that much about flowers, the florals were one of my favorite parts of our wedding because of the AMAZING job that Vanessa did! I am so grateful to her and her team and would 10000% recommend Vanessa as your florist for any event ! I would love to work with her again in the future and just am SO grateful to her for making our wedding so special and beautiful!! Love you Vanessa! Mahalo for all that you do!!

    Love Note from the BRIDE: Nick and I planned a destination wedding for 115 of our closest friends and family. While I was hoping for sunshine, planning for a possible light sprinkle... what I, our guests, and our vendors did not plan or expect.. was for-- was a MONSOON on our wedding day! I don't mean to say it just rained... I mean, it literally POURED. There were even flash flood warnings! Every single guest and vendor was drenched from head to toe. They say rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, and ours started this day with our vendors. Vanessa and the entire La Flor team, I don't even know where to start, except by saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! You worked in the rain to set up our beautiful altar, and YOU MADE ALL OF MY FLOWER DREAMS COME TRUE!! From the moment I met Vanessa, we instantly clicked, and I knew she was going to be the only person I would trust to bring my flower vision to life, AND SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I sent her my Pinterest and inspiration, we discussed flowers, colors, and my overall vision for the space, and I left it up to her creative mind to do the rest! She worked with my wedding planner Carly through the finances and smaller details, but I honestly have no words to express just how THANKFUL I am to have met her!! And a HUGE shoutout to Leila @Kualoa Ranch who referred me to her! WHAT A BLESSING! Because our venue was remote, the first time I would see everything, including the altar, my bouquet and my flower crown, was at the venue... and OMG, I was speechless. I was in love and over the moon with EVERYTHING her and her team touched!!! The monstera leafs, the large dahlias, and of course, THE KING PROTEAS, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES!! I was practically in tears with how overjoyed I was. FLOWERS MAKE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE on a wedding day!!! My bouquet was so perfectly unique and beautiful. It was wrapped in ribbon and it was romantic and bold all in one. I was SO excited post-ceremony to switch from my veil to my FLOWER CROWN which matched my bouquet perfectly!! It was absolutely stunning. I felt like a queen all night!! Overall, from initial reach out and partnership with our wedding planner Carly, to planning, prep, execution and even follow up afterwards, our experience with Vanessa and the La Flor Team, was EXCEPTIONAL! I would 100% recommend!!! My only regret, is not being able to bring ALL of my florals back to the mainland with me. I had to leave them on Oahu, and that was heartbreaking!! VANESSA WE LOVE YOU!!!! Love Note from the Groom: Vanessa did such an amazing job on everything! The flowers on the arch were arranged and designed so perfectly, the bouquet literally made my wife cry when she saw it, and all the floral decorations on the tables and around the tent were gorgeous. We even added two last minute groomsmen and Vanessa made two new PERFECT boutonnières in literally 5 minutes flat. I was so impressed with her preparedness and flexibility, not to mention how accurately she captured my wife's vision. AMAZING!

I wasn't going to hire a planner at the risk of spending so much on something I thought I could manage on my own (with some help of the fiancé, of course). I met Teri and Pura at the Wedding Expo at the Convention Center. To be honest, it was because I loved their décor display. After some much needed advice and budget reworking, I decided to splurge some of the wedding cost on a day-of planner and was excited for a consultation with Teri. She was extremely friendly and not the least bit intimidating for someone who has so much on their plate. Teri got back to me immediately with scheduling my consultation, and would reply to my emails within 24-72 hours (which is impressive if you can understand how I was a last minute addition to her extremely busy wedding season schedule!) She was amazing as far as managing my expectations within my budget. Even though I brought a mess of ideas and pre-purchased wedding details like my expensive venue, Teri was extremely cognizant of my budget at all times. She gave me great advice when it came to necessities and "risk versus reward" type details. It sounds silly when deciding what size flowers to use or using a Bluetooth speaker and playlist, but it's a huge deal when someone can save you $500+ just by substituting with simple, yet money saving options! Along with Teri, I have to give a huge commendation to her daughter, Dannah! She was pregnant, busy with her husband shipping out, and a full schedule of June weddings...she managed to do a site visit, organize the small pockets of chaos during my wedding, AND she even did the set up, SERVING OF FOOD, and take down! Honestly, Teri and Dannah were an awesome team and they were above and beyond my expectations. In lieu of describing every detail of my wedding, I can simply put it that Teri and Dannah are extremely efficient at managing their time from busy schedules, to their personal lives and their clients. They worked hard to meet their client's expectations and stayed strict to the "guidelines" they established from the beginning. I highly recommend Julian and Coco for their planning services, and both Teri and Dannah for their work ethic and genuine interest in helping people enjoy a happy and memorable experience.

    *****DO NOT HIRE*****…read more Pura Stephens can talk you up on your consultation call...and that's where it ends. After our talk on the phone, I thought that she was perfect! She agreed to a payment plan of 5 individual payments and since my mother had offered to pay for a coordinator, we made our first payment. Then the silence started. Pura was supposed to have called me the following week to talk over the details, vision, etc. This call didn't take place for a month and only after I told her we wouldn't be making our 2nd payment until she returned our multiple calls. She did return my call and was pleasant and apologetic. Then she didn't call again till the 3rd payment was due. At this time I expressed my frustration and explicitly wrote what I wanted to go over in an email. At this point, we started bi-weekly phone calls...this lasted for 1 call. She didn't call me for our scheduled bi-weekly followup and didn't return emails or calls for a few weeks. When she finally did, she said it was because of a family emergency/ a family member had died. I said I was sorry for her lose, but she should have sent a mass email out to her brides. Again, we had bi-weekly calls. I emailed her questions that I had for vendors and she would forward it to them with the words "See below". The last straw was I had multiple questions in regards to party rentals, it was at least 6 questions. She emailed the vendor and in three short 5 word phrases made 3 changes and forwarded the email to me with the vendor's response. She completely ignored my questions to her and my request to ask the vendor their opinion. I emailed her per the contract - if I wanted to cancel the contract it had to be in writing and with more than 30 days notice. It states "refunds are limited to unearned fees, funds in excess of unused or non-refundable fees and out-of-pocket expenses". My mother - whom the refund needed to go to - contact Pura to setup how some of what we paid would be refunded. Pura proceeded to tell her that she would not refund until she talked to me and blamed the vendors for her lack of communication and progress. Since that call she has not answered my multiple phone calls, voicemails and emails. Only after I hired her did I find out this is her M.O. Apparently 5 phone calls and a few emails = $2000 with Julian and Coco Events. Do Not Hire this company! Stay away!

We were looking for companies that were able to offer small wedding ceremony packages. We also wanted to find someone that can help us arrange a small casual reception afterwards, which many companies who specialize in wedding ceremony packages didn't do. So when we found this company, we decided to contact them and see what they can offer. We were initially very excited to learn that this company was able to help us with the reception portion. The owner also seemed very enthusiastic and experienced in the industry. Even though we were envisioning a much smaller and less expensive wedding, the owner managed to convince us to have a bigger and more lavish wedding than we anticipated, because she convinced us that she could "give us our dream wedding" within our limited budget. Slightly skeptical, we asked her if she could give us a predicted budget breakdown to see how she will pull off our wedding within our budget. However, our first mistake was to sign a contract with her before she gave us this budget prediction, because she kept avoiding and delaying to give us this budget breakdown. This went on for months and she kept giving us excuses and avoiding the budget topic whenever we bring it up. If a planner can't even get it together long enough to put together a quote, how is she expected to plan a wedding? Another thing we found odd was that she asked us to give ALL of our wedding money to her so that she can "take care of the payments from her end". Not once have I met a planner that does this. Our second mistake was to follow her venue recommendation, even though we know that this venue is slightly more on the expensive side, not realizing that this will blow our budget. After the venue was booked, that's when everything went downhill, as it turns out that we had to increase our overall wedding budget by 20+% due to many things we weren't made aware of. She also told us all of the sudden that her service fees have not been included in our budget. Shocked and anxious, we asked her how much her service is, because we didn't see any specific number for her fees on her contract. And of course, like the budget, she avoided answering our question about her service fees. By not being upfront about their service fees just shows how unethical their business practice is. Nonetheless, communication with her was a nightmare. As a bride, of course I would have a myriad of questions for her, especially about cost, vendors, and scheduling vendor meetings. 9/10 times none of my emails or texts were answered for weeks at a time. And whenever she reappears again out of the blue, she would never answer any of my questions. Instead she would have some ridiculous excuse on why she ghosted on us and say "I have a lot of information for you. Let's meet up in person next week to discuss". But why are you asking a meeting in person during a pandemic? She would disappear for such long periods of time for various excuses that we had to take initiative and do the majority of the planning process ourselves, which defeats the purpose of having a wedding coordinator in the first place. If you're too busy, at least have the courtesy to let us know rather than ghosting your client. So with all of the drama and frustration that we had to go through in the 4 months working with her, we decided to terminate our contract with her. Take note that we have sent her multiple emails explaining our frustrations with her over the course of two months. But of course, she didn't answer or respond to any of my emails or address any of my concerns or frustrations. When we decided to fire her, we sent her a very long email detailing everything that was frustrating us, from the budget management to her poor communication. And her response? She didn't even apologize or acknowledge any of her mistakes and said something like "Since your wedding is still really far away, I need to work on weddings that would bring me income right now. I have worked very hard on your wedding for the short amount of time we've been working together...". Take note that at this point the only thing she has done for us is booking the venue. And how rude can you be by telling us we're just another unimportant source of income? I'm writing this review on Yelp because she only has very biased reviews on her website and nowhere else. Skip the headache and go with other companies if you don't want to go through the same thing that I did. TL;DR: claims she's experienced and organized but the complete opposite, VERY slow to no communication, mysterious service fee (read: shady business practices), didn't honor our budget, won't apologize or acknowledge mistakes, an expert at excuses & avoiding our questions

It was an amazing and beautiful wedding on the beach with an awesome reception to follow. Food was delicious. Due to Covid, it was just immediate family and every comment was about how amazingly beautiful it was. Kelli was very helpful, patient and full of wonderful ideas. We're glad we found her and Pastor Mark. Would definitely recommend Tide the Knot.

Dania (Head Coordinator) and Jenna (my Wedding Coordinator) we're very attentive to my needs and wants in such a short amount of time, especially during COVID! Dania would reach out to me every month, and she would let me know the updates and regulations in Hawaii. Plans kept changing whether we needed to postpone our wedding date or elope. Luckily, around April-May 2021, rules were slowly being lifted and we ended up keeping our original wedding date! They really helped us out a lot, even on the small details! They're so fun and laid back and that's what I really love about them. My husband and I really enjoyed our wedding and we appreciate Dania's and Jenna's help! I forgot Jenna's assistant's name, but she was a big help as well! I love their hospitality I would recommend them to any family members or close friends that are thinking of getting married in Oahu. From start to finish, Tessa and her team made our wedding unforgettable. It's been seven months since our big day (February 23, 2025), and my wife, myself, our friends, and family still talk about it constantly. We laughed, cried, ate, drank, danced, socialized, and snapped countless photos. Most importantly, we were able to relax and truly enjoy ourselves. Fred and Kate Events had everything under control. The only thing we had to focus on was getting married--which is exactly how it should be. Tessa is phenomenal, and her staff is top-tier: professional, attentive, and kind.
