The original La Foret in Burnaby is just a few minutes away from us and we're more than happy to support a local business that's thriving and expanding to other cities. Similar to the Burnaby location, this has a mix of high ceilings, wood and metal, and lots of plants and greenery. Coffee and pastries were lovely (as expected) and we were able to find a table quickly. Parking isn't as limited as the one in Burnaby so that's a plus. read more

I got the their Snow Velvet Matcha (Iced only). It's made of organic matcha, milk, and pistachio tiramisu cream. The drink was beautifully presented. If you don't mix the drink well then the matcha can be quite bitter. I also got their ruby berry cookie, which has ruby chocolate in it and it was so good. I visited La foret for gathering with friend. The ambience was so nice and cozy, I really like their cafe design and decor. They offer different type of bread, cakes and drinks. What I got - Tiramisu roll cake and Matcha with cream form. Matcha with cream form was so good! I will try this item again! Matcha flavor was strong and sweetness was just right, cream form on the top was so delicious! Tiramisu roll cake had a lot of cream filling. Sponge cake was good. It was a very decent item. La Forêt is a beautifully designed café that nailed both atmosphere and food quality. Upon entering, you'll be welcomed with an 'oasis in the city' vibes. The space is open, calming, and surrounded by greens/natural elements -- ideal for a relaxed brunch or catching up on work. We ordered the spanish latte, caramel macchiato, spaghettini amatriciana, and waffle & chicken -- all were surprisingly excellent. We heard they were popular for their pastries and dessert, but the entrées were actually good too! From the crispy fried chicken with the fluffy waffle (black because of the squid-ink?), to their perfectly cooked spaghettini -- we initially thought the pricing was on the higher end, but with the quantity and QUALITY, it was definitely worth it! We thought each dish is enough for two people to share. Staff were efficient and attentive. Service was reasonable. Easily one of my now go-to spots in Coquitlam. The VIBES! If you've been to their other location by Metrotown, then you know what I'm talking about. The interior feels cozy and you know you want to just relax and take your time. Parking. Very little parking up front, but they have a few spots in the back and a lot more on the street in the back as well. Do not park in the area where there are signs that say 'DO NOT PARK'. Respect other buisness, friends. When you walk in you're greeted with delicious baked goods in cases and pre-wrapped in individual bags. Grab a tray and pick what you like. If you want a meal from the kitchen, check out the menu and order accordingly. At the Austin location they have brunch items like eggs benedict and chicken and waffles, pastas, soup and salads. Once they give you a buzzer, take a seat and wait. If you have a larger party then you can drag tables and chairs together. We ordered: Spanish Latte (iced) $6.30 Mocha (iced) 6.30 Chicken and Waffles $21.99 We also got a bunch of buns to eat later ranging around $5 each. The coffee is delightful, honestly can't go wrong. But if you need more sugar or honey they have a station set up on the side for utensils, ketchup, hot sauce, and sweeteners. Fried Chicken was great, and with the syrup it worked. The black waffle was dense and flavourless. Would not order again. Do go and enjoy the vibes. Grab a coffee or tea and just relax, or bring your work with you and use the free wifi. read more

I live really close to this location as was super excited when I found it it's opening in Coquitlam as I've always wanted to try La Foret. Finally got to this weekend with my friend. Food was super delicious. So many options to choose from for the food, drinks and all the dessert selection they had too. They do take reservations which is nice but it's not a place where you sit down and someone comes to take your order at the table. You have to order first at the counter and then go to a table. Small round tables. They give you a number when you order. Our food was brought to our table but we were also told the number we were given would buzz when the food was ready. I will also say that if you are driving, parking in their parking lot is the greatest as they only have very few spots at this location - street parking on the back might be a better idea or take transit if you can I love how the place was decorated. Finally got around to visiting the Austin location of La Foret. Parking was very difficult because they have two tiny parking lots (one in front and one in back) and it's definitely not big enough for the amount of people inside. I even visited on a weekday and it was all full. The inside was also very crowded and full. It's also unfortunate because sound carries super well and it gets very loud inside since it's just one big giant open space. It was a bit disappointing for a cafe experience. Everything else was on par with my visits previously to the other locations. The space was nicely decorated with lots of plants. The food and coffee were both good and the service was fast. Not sure I'll visit again just due to preference for other cafes in the area. read more

I was invited here for a business meeting and it didn't disappoint. This restaurant styled cafe bakery pleases my aesthetic mind so much as it incorporates a natural feel with all the greenery, wooden table sets and stone walls. They have a huge arrangement of croissants, cookies and baked goods to select from while you're waiting in line prior to ordering. The service was excellent, the cashier gave great suggestions when it came to what to order and others were helpful when needing anything. This location has a large seating area. Ambiance is modern and airy. Coffee was great. Unfortunately, their baked goods selection was lacking at 8 pm. Service was efficient. I only wish they opened a bit later in the evening until 10 pm so I can catch up with friends a bit longer. They currently close at 9 pm daily. read more

Great service but very crowded and noisy. Hard to hear your companion. Enjoyed the yummy matcha latte with oat milk and condensed milk. Nice service when staff deliver it to your trackable table. Found street parking but I don't know how people are supposed to come here otherwise with only 12ish parking spots unless they walk in. The service here is excellent, the raspberry mojito summer drink was tasty. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. A little bit slim on parking outside with only 4 stalls out front, 6 stalls off of Ridgeway and strict signs about not parking in the closed down McDonalds lot. There is street parking behind the establishment. I highly recommend taking Ridgeway Ave to get to La Foret. The kitchen is just average especially for the price. Both dishes were quite average. Try around back ot come by bus. Next Door McDonalds is putting up signs, saying NO Le FORET parking. WILL TOW. 4 washroom/toilets. Small, single toilet each, cramped. No entrance from back door in this branch. Staff adequate, though untrained at old Burnaby branch. Menu same as Burnaby, being handed out on paper this week. Maybe 140 seats, in 60 tables. Arrangement may change or not. The "This is a table for 4" tent cards on tables are being widely ignored as seating for 2 against back wall.. Longish line from front door to Concierge desk this week. They will learn. You might try other restos/cafes along Austin St. (only 2 blocks long) such as Coffee Vanilla Cafe, Ray's etc. Starbucks (in Safeway), etc. read more

Food is spectacular! Coffee is pretty good. But I do have one big gripe! The acoustics are terrible. it's so loud and echoes. Interesting as it calls itself "La Foret" you would expect it to be a calm soothing place for a coffee. But certainly not! Please do something about the acoustics.
