Wow. Quality sure went downhill fast. Today I had the worst sandwich of my life. She definitely went cheap with the tiny amount of meat she put in the sandwich. This was the driest grossest bun I've ever had the displeasure of eating. My sandwich had mayo and mustard, yet, still tasted as dry as the Sahara desert. Disappointing. What a waste of money. Will never return. Bosa Foods may be further away..but at least they give you quality, quantity and better pricing. read more

I've lived 5mins away for over 5yrs and for some reason never thought to go here for a sandwich. Glad I did today and I am sure glad that they have great customer service. This morning I walked in in a rush and not reading all of the details on their wall. I arrived at 9am and their sandwiches are served 10am to 3pm. Fortunately they were kind enough to make two paninis for me: The Veggie special and the Turkey and Cappicolo. The Veggie - Cheese (I think it was mozzarella), roasted peppers, and I'm pretty sure there were some artichoke hearts. Overall this was a fantastic sandwich that I'll probably be getting again tomorrow. No joke. Turkey and Cappicolo - My friend enjoyed it. She didn't want to share so that's always a good sign. I originally found this place when making a gift of "exotic" shaving creams for a friend but it has continued on as a favorite. It has been renovated since a fire so go see it while it is 'sparkly'. Because it is a specialty store, I try to have in mind what I want to buy ahead of time to avoid impulse-buy shock at the register. The deli case is amazing. The fresh cheeses and meats are great, as are the prepared pasta's. If it is around lunch, get a sandwich and soup to go. Pick up some grilled eggplant and roasted peppers to kick up your sandwiches during the week. When Superstore is out, I use the deli to source my San Pelligrino soda's. You can even buy them by the pallet here. Aranciata (orange) used to be my preferred flavor but now I am head over heels for the blood orange. The Italian cookies, breads and assortments are fun and so are the staff who can sometimes even be a little saucy. read more

Kinda stumbled upon this as I had thought it'll be a place for me to work and eat, but it's your typical authentic Italian grocery store, with a bunch of table at the front to enjoy their fresh big-size panninis, but alas, I ordered their veal schnitzel. Easy repeat next time: just the right amount of sauce, and amazing bread, fresh and light. They also offer catering in the area. There used to be an Italian deli right by Lougheed Mall, and unfortunately that closed down ages ago, and since then, I haven't really noticed any delis around here until this one. (to be fair, I haven't actively searched..). Anyhow, we had a nice chat with the owner, and he only took over the business 6 months ago back in March. There's a range of authentic Italian goods in the store, including fresh meats, olives and cheeses (no produce), and a counter where you can order sandwiches / paninis from. A panini costs around 5.50 / 6, and a 12" sub costs 7.50/8. I didn't have a chance to try it, but it was massive, and I think you can double the meat as well for an extra charge. They also cater as well, so skip the Safeway/subway sandwiches! We split the veal panini, though I really liked the toasted foccacia that it was served on. Although there's a variety of dry pastas, there are a bunch of FRESH items in the fridge at the back (I'm pretty sure all made in-store): pasta sheets in the fridge, fresh pizza dough (both in batches and rolled out), sauces, cannelloni, spaghetti, lasagne, etc. Next time I'm feeling the need for some good Italian food, I know where I'm going! Price-wise: to be honest, I'm not sure how it compares with the stores on Hastings and in other areas, but a bonus is that you don't have to drive all the way out there if you live in this area. I did buy a few things that were on sale (no, they weren't close to expiring): 1L olive oil for $7.50, balsamic for $2, and Italian wafers for $4. read more

I have passed this place more times than I can count, and finally I decided to go in. It makes me sad that I have not tried this place sooner. It is a deli and grocery store, but it does serve a small selection of sandwiches. The prices are incredibly reasonable, and for a 12in sandwich that I shared with my husband, it only cost us $10 total. We tried their prosciutto sandwich, and their fresh bread was delicious! The sandwich was a little dry and could have used mayo, but I must say that other than that small detail, it was fresh and simple. The lady working there was incredibly welcoming. It is hard not to shop around at their interesting selection of meats, their freezers full of ready to cook meals, and isles filled with Italian staples. It was so hard not to impulse buy. I definitely want to go back and try more stuff from there. read more

I've eaten here once before, several years ago and remember it being decent. Drove by today and decided to give it another try. I shared a prosciutto and bocconcini sub with my wife. I found the fresh ingredients to be very tasty. The prosciutto was very tasty. Bocconcini is already mild but I found theirs to be even milder than I'm used to so that it didn't add much to the sandwich. I would have liked the sandwich to be "wetter". More condiments, whether it be mayo, mustard or something else. The woman taking our order and making our sandwich was very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely come back again. read more

My turkey turkey sandwhich (forgot the name) was delicious until halfway through. The sauce was quite thick and rich that's all - I just like to finish a meal when I am hungry instead of saving it for later. This place also carries a pretty exotic drink called calypso that's quite refreshing. If I am ever near by, if not for the sandwich, I'll be sure to grab that drink! read more

It's nice to find a store nearby the carries Italian grocery items. Their isn't a large selection but enough that you can find what you are looking for. They also sell sandwiches. I tried a turkey panini which was good but nothing special. The price for the panini was more than reasonable. The service was excellent. read more

Ordered two large lasagna's and paid top dollar. The layering of the lasagna was only filled up half way up the pan, and of course after it was cooked it shrunk even more. It was an embarrassment to serve to my guests. Way to heavy on the salt, that's all I could taste. Super disappointed. read more

Sunday Nov 4 2012 I shop here every 2 weeks stocking up on my Italian favourites and drop by occasionally for ingredients for my Italian dishes. I went in this Sunday to purchase 2 slices of Prosciutto and 2 slices of Swiss cheese for a recipe I was making. I have never in my life had such bad customer service and to boot from the owner herself. She said to me that there was a 100 gram minimum for the Prosciutto and cheese. I replied I don't need 100 grams and she just stood until I said forget it and left. If she is so miserable perhaps she should sell her business. She has lost my business and I will tell everyone not to shop there. I am married to an Italian who has been in Canada for 8 years now a he even said what kind of Italian is she, no smile, miserable face and an attitude. With customer service like this I am so surprised she even has any business I will go to Hastings Street to make my purchases from real friendly Italians who appreciate your business read more
