My son said they were great. Took a few weeks to find the fix but once they found it they were able to get the camera in mint condition.

I came in genuinely looking for camera recommendations and hoping to support a small business by shopping in person rather than online. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Instead of being helpful, the woman assisting me came off as passive-aggressive and told me I should "do my research" before coming in. If I already knew exactly what I needed, I wouldn't have come in asking for advice. I wanted to support local, but customer service like this makes it easy to take my money elsewhere. I found out about LaGrange Camera through Canon's website. I had been trying to get a Canon RF lens since the day it was announced and was one of the first to be on a waiting list at one of the big online stores but never was able to get one. I contacted Heather at LaGrange Camera and within 2 weeks I had the lens in my hands. She was able to work with her Canon representative and acquire one of the very few available in the US for me. While I was there she was also able to get my old Leica camera fixed. Great little store with great customer service. Same pricing as the large online stores and Canon direct. Wide selection of lenses and supplies on hand but mostly Canon and Nikon. I use a modern Sony mirrorless but I'm giving them 5 stars for service! I bought a used canon 50mm f1.8 manual focus lens from them and an adapter online, been having loads of fun with it. Price was fair and shop explained in depth what the lenses are capable of. So, I am new at this professional camera thing. I took a class which was supposed to help me understand the whole concept of appeture, F-stop and ISO. Well, i stopped in today. I kept swearing that w There was something wrong w/ my camera. I brought it in, explained "the problem" and the young guy took the time to explain how and why there was nothing wrong with it. Had I taken the camera to Best Buy I would have paid at least $160 ( like I had done before). Then after I was told there was nothing wrong w/ my camera I wanted to get it cleaned. Once again the young guy took the time to check it out, he told me there was nothing to clean. Came in today to buy film supplies for school. I never got the guys name, but he was super helpful. I'm pretty knowledgeable in digital photography, but not film. So I came in to buy a 35mm film camera, film, photo paper, and negative sheets. This guy helped me pick out everything. I showed him the syllabus and he grabbed everything I needed. I even got a student discount! I'll be coming back here to buy more film and other supplies. Very nice people working here, and I spent less here than I would have online. read more

LG camera has a knowledgeable smart staff who can solve all your camera needs. I've been patronizing them for years and I trust their work. Recently Heather helped me crop and print a large photo for my Mom's funeral. It turned out beautiful! And when my husband went to pick it up there was no charge. Me: "Yeah, I uh need a new lens for my camera" CSL: "sure what kind of camera and what kind of lens do you need?" Me: "for a canon ti4 rebel. I need a lens my friend was telling me about. Wizards live in them, and your pictures are awesome" CSL: *blink blink* "oh yes! Hey _______! Run downstairs and get a "nifty fifty" ( i can't remember the guys name that she told to go downstairs) The above is pretty much verbatim how the conversation went. One of the owners who was in managed to translate my complete ignorance of lenses into exactly what I intended to purchase today. (I'm not a photographer, I don't even play one on TV, but I have a DSLR that I love to play around with) I am bringing my broken lens and my dad's broken camera into them ASAP. I went to La Grange Photo in early December looking to get a print of a panorama as a gift for framing. What I found was a busy and helpful small business. Staff took the time to acknowledge those of us waiting while providing undivided attention to the customer up front. Someone was getting holiday card photos, another person was getting a quote on a camera repair and consulting about the merits of doing so. I was helped and the turnaround was reasonable- in fact it was ready early! While I could have had this done online, I was grateful to do it in person, as I had questions about size ratio, and being math challenged I could have wasted a lot of time and money elsewhere and been disappointed. I stopped in looking for a specific camera model. I walked into a world of awesomeness. I went in and asked about the model I had researched and Heather greeted me with a smile. And after I explained I was new to photography and what I would be using the camera for she told me she didn't have that model but recommended a similar model and at a cheaper cost and just as capable of doing what I want with it. Instead of doing what many places do, "I don't have that one but this one is similar and newer". And then she spent over an hour giving a full explanation on the camera. I brought a camera here in Sept after thinking I had done my homework. Heather educated me much quicker and more thoroughly in a few minutes than the hours online I spent trying to compare different makers and types of cameras. She also took time to show me everything a novice needs to know before walking out with a new dslr. The price matched online and big box stores but you can't get the knowledge and experience anywhere but in this independent professional store. This past weekend, my camera wasn't firing. I looked in the manual and tried a few things but it didn't help. I called Heather and she offered some suggestions to try and it worked! If it hadn't, she offered to take a look if I brought it in. I reviewed DSLR cameras online but still had questions about what would be the best camera for my needs. I went to LaGrange camera after calling them to see if they had the camera I was looking for in stock. I'm so glad I went! Heather at LaGrange Camera had the camera set aside for me. She took it out and showed me the features that made the model different from the other models. The BEST thing was that she showed me EVERYTHING about how to use it. I left LaGrange Camera knowing how to care for and use the camera and start taking pictures immediately. If I have questions, she said I could stop by. The tutorial I got on the spot was huge to me since I haven't had a DSLR camera (I had a SLR). The camera was the same price as it was on Amazon and at Costco. Customer service makes a difference and you will find it here. It's now my camera store. I plan to get a DSLR for my daughter and I will get it here. That way I know she will be more likely to use it because she will have someone that can tell her all about film speed and aperture and how use the camera.
