Taco Tuesday in Alabama and I had no idea where to go. La Hacienda was about 6 minutes from my hotel so I gave them a try for lunch. The friendly hostess greeted me as soon as I walked in and took my to a table. My waiter brought me water soon after along with chips & salsa. As I looked over the menu I realized many of the other patrons were regulars. I loved hearing the friendly banter between customers and staff. I ordered the carne asada street tacos which are served with refried beans, rice and a guac salad. One thing I really liked is the onion and cilantro are on a separate plate so I could control how much went on each taco. The carne was delicious!! I could eat a plate full of that steak by itself. Everything was delicious and I have added La Hacienda to my places to visit when I'm back in the area. read more

Went to this restaurant while I was in town and it was great. We went on a Friday night and although they were busy, we were seated immediately. The food is reasonably priced and has a good authentic taste. The free chips and salsa were tasty. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and shrimp quesadillas. Both were good and had good portion sizes. The only improvement is that they probably needed more help as the server took a while to get our order and really didn't check on us. read more

I enjoyed my visit to La Hacienda, the service staff were very attentive and kind the ambiance was beautiful lots of hand painted burials and scenes on the walls and in the tables, the food was incredibly good I'll definitely be back i unfortunately didn't take any photos of the food this time but the next time I come back I'll take photos. read more

Incredible Enchiladas, got the Enchiladas Rojas with beef and the cheese dip. Fantastic all round. The cheese dip is essentially just Queso Blanco but i think thats what they call it in Alabama. The margaritas didn't have enough tequila even after asking for a heavier pour.overall wonderful experience. read more

I will not be ordering from la hacienda in the future. They are constantly leaving stuff out.. and when you call to tell them they have the audacity to imply that you are lying about what they left out! I do not lie! I have no reason to and they won't be getting my business in the future. Who knows if they tamper with food if they suspect you're lying? It's ridiculous. All I asked for was for mixed fajitas chicken and steak.. with no lettuce or sour cream and pico and guacamole on the side. The no lettuce/no sour cream was so I could save my rice and beans that are left in the fridge without it getting nasty with lettuce and it obviously confused them because then they leave the whole thing out. It's one thing to leave something out, it's a whole other ballgame to accuse a regular customer that they are lying instead of apologizing for YOUR mistake and making it right. read more

Had my birthday dinner at LaHa because I was craving Mexican. They are doing a great job with COVID restrictions. Food was delicious, margarita was potent, service was speedy and excellent. I just have one comment about dessert. We ordered sopapillas, which are supposed to be puffy fried dough. What we had were bunuelos, which are crispy fried chips. Both are served with cinnamon and honey, but if you're going to call it a sopapilla, please don't serve me a bunuelo. I know the difference. Hugo is always friendly, and always drops by the table to make sure everything is top notch. The same servers are there, and they remember you and greet you by name. Great choices on the menu. Well... honestly, not much more to say other than there was a roach in the beef nachos. We let our server know about it and he took asked if we wanted something else brought out. We said no. The manager came out and said that the business next door was renovating and that's where the roach came from. I have a hard time believing that. The rich was dead and clocked. Since moving to Florence, AL but from Austin, TX this was the first Mexican restaurant I came to. I can already tell they do things completely different down here than in Mexican restaurants I've been to in Austin. The meal was good though. I ordered beef enchiladas and in Texas you don't have to ask for rice and beans. It automatically comes with the meal. Here you have to tell them you want it and it's a separate charge. Or find something on the menu that comes with rice and beans. All the menus I have seen they don't have an enchilada section. They have a few enchilada selections but no section. I didn't care much for the service which is typical in Mexican restaurants and it's getting old. Every time I go to Mexican restaurants you are given sub par service and some of the wait staff are downright rude to you. I told the waiter I wanted Chile con carne as a topping on my enchiladas and he didn't even know what that was. He just seemed dumb founded. I thought wait a minute you are Mexican and don't even know what chile con carne is? Anyway I explained what it was and he said they don't do that. They only do red or green sauce. OK I chose red which is considered ranchera sauce. My boyfriend ordered the beef and chicken fajita burrito. When our meals came it looked good but I noticed no rice and beans with mine. Flagged the waiter down and asked him about it and all he said with a smirk was well if you want that I can bring it. Not telling me there would be a charge for rice and beans. He was bad with refills also. I shouldn't have to flag people down to ask them for refills on salsa or drinks. Speaking of salsa theirs was sub par. It was more tomato based. Had no spices and didn't even seem like it had onions or cilantro in it. Definitely was disappointed with that. I wouldn't mind going back and giving them another try though. This is probably the first decent Mexican food I'll be able to find in the hick state of Alabama. read more

If I could give it a zero I would. Absolutely disgusting and the service was lazy and horrible. The server was too lazy to write down the order, repeating it 3 times at the table (when he did this I knew it would get screwed up and I should have called him out for being lazy) and of course got it wrong with half the order coming out and us having to wait on the other half. The soft tacos both ground beef and chicken and you could tell the meat was sitting in the back in a warming tray all night and the chicken tasted like it was microwave boil in bag. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Florence. I like to go for Saturday or Sunday lunch and have the lunch buffet. It is awesome. They have great margaritas also ! Service is always top notch. And pretty much any dish you order will be filling. You will not leave hungry. That's why they are always busy and crowded from time to time. If you are hungry this is the place to go and definitely not city hardware where they have shrunken their food portions. read more
