Our food came out late, I would say we waited for at least 20 minutes almost 30 minutes and it was just us and another family so I dont know what happened there. The tortillas were stale. Then when we were ready to leave and get the check everyone disappeared to the back. It was about 8:20pm so they were going to close in about 40 minutes so my husband went to go look for our server and you could see her and the other server and two cooks in the back making drinks. The friendly hostess greeted me as soon as I walked in and took my to a table. My waiter brought me water soon after along with chips & salsa. As I looked over the menu I realized many of the other patrons were regulars. I loved hearing the friendly banter between customers and staff. I ordered the carne asada street tacos which are served with refried beans, rice and a guac salad. One thing I really liked is the onion and cilantro are on a separate plate so I could control how much went on each taco. The carne was delicious!! I could eat a plate full of that steak by itself. Everything was delicious and I have added La Hacienda to my places to visit when I'm back in the area.

The taco was a little bland, but that can be remedied with a dousing of salsa or hot sauce. The Texas enchilada was pretty danged good. We're Texas expats, and used to the cheese enchiladas with chili that are ubiquitous in Austin. It doesn't rise to the benchmark of Maudie's in Austin, but I've had worse enchiladas in Texas. Service was excellent. There's a decent amount of parking in Rosie's lot, but it's pretty tight; I imagine it's a bit of trouble on peak evenings. Next time we're in the Florence area, I expect we'll be back.

Shoals Shack was my personal choice, and I think I out bought the rest of our crew compared to the restaurant they chose. ;) it was so good! This is a small building on the outskirts of Florence. There's a little parking lot but it's carryout only. I was able to place my order online about 20 minutes before we got there. It was easy and you can even make modifications to your order, which is great! The website said my food wouldn't be ready till 1:45 (I think I ordered ~1:15 or so) but we pulled up at about 1:35 and it was waiting for me! I walked right up to the window and a friendly employee asked if I had an online order. I agreed and confirmed my name and the food was mine! Easy peasy and it was still super hot and not at all soggy. I ordered the Bella burger, which is a burger with mushrooms, Swiss, garlic mayo, and fried onion strings, though I asked for no onion strings on mine. I got a side of French fries and a cup of ranch for dipping. My order was made correctly. The fries were pretty basic but good -- hot, crispy, adequately salted. The ranch was delicious ranch and perfect for dipping. Unfortunately one of my fries did have a small, straight, dark hair attached to it. I'm not wildly squeamish about these sorts of things and it was sort of sitting by itself not touching other fries anyway, so I just chunked it and went about my business. This is really my only complaint for the whole experience. That burger...wow. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked, juicy, a little unctuous but not too much. Soft bun, not soggy, right amount of melt on the cheese, meaty mushrooms in the perfect proportion. And lastly, the garlic mayo really pulled it all together. It was creamy, not overly garlicky, and spread just enough to get a little bit in every bite. I will be hard-pressed not to return here when I'm next in the area. Truly, an awesome burger!
