More specialized than the chain stores that usually carry a broad based product selection, these stores are geared more for the local market, not the mass market. They do sale chickens and ducks in season, feed, veterinarian items including the meds and vaccinations, lots of pet supplies, horse tack, cattle items, etc. We went for a specific mouse bait that is very hard to find, chain stores won't carry it anymore. This location had it, and for way less than we could find online or in other coops. Staff was very helpful, young lady's were friendly and social. Store was clean and well kept. We did check the dog and cat foods that we normally purchase, Blue Buffalo brand, they carry it, tho it's a bit more expensive than the box chain stores. Definitely a place to stop for more specialized items.

Great little coop. We used to visit a lot when we lived in the area, came to see if they had…read moresomething specific. The outside still looks the same, very country rustic, old barn. They had taken out the food trays that allowed someone to scoop out bird food, dog food, and other critter foods and pay by the pound. Sad that it's gone. Staff was still very nice and helpful. Place still has the old dusty look. to it. Through another door they have a separate feed area, have many bags of eats for the critters and livestock. There is also a gift shop attached, has some nice and pretty items, some are priced a bit more than I'm comfortable paying, but they are nice.

The cashier told me she'd order some, supplies come in on Tuesday. So I did buy a non familiar brand and would return in a week for my familiar brand. I noticed after I brought the bag home it was full of weevils and when I returned the following week the cashier said she wasn't able to get my normal brand. I'm afraid Waxahachie lost a good feed store, my birds did! 2 visits out of 2 were a bust!

I stopped in here, and whoever the man behind the counter was, was very rude and unhelpful. He refused to sell me their stated minimum order of fertilizer, claiming that it wasn't worth him starting their tractor/loader/whatever for, and that even if it was "worth it", evidently I don't have the right kind of trailer, although they don't have any rules or posted minimums anywhere, I guess they just make it up as they go. He was openly condescending and down talking to me, told me to go to tractor supply instead (lol) and was in general just as belligerent and rude as possible given the nature of the transaction. Anyway, I called probably ten other semi-local fertilizer places, literally all of which were friendlier and more helpful than this one, so I'll just buy from one of those. I hope that whoever that was here, was just having a bad day, it happens to everyone. Also, as a side note, this place looks like a dump. I don't expect much especially given the nature of the business, but this place looks ROUGH if that matters to you. The building and everything there is dingy, battered, etc and theres literally a pile of scrap metal in front of their business. I've been to actual scrap yards that look cleaner and straighter than this store. Not that I'd expect this matters to anyone buying fertilizer, but if it does, go elsewhere. I'd driven past this place before and was very disappointed with my experience there, today.

The pallet of wood in my picture was priced over $200 and the older/brittle logs are priced for $1/log. Unfortunately I don't have a pick up truck for transport and then my husband told me these were not the logs he wanted anyway. Oh! I've bought pest spray from here (yellow top, attaches to your hose) and it works miracles. We ultimately ended up going with a pest service though since we were spending alot to keep them from overtaking our house (this year was worse than normal).

I purchased an alfalfa hay bale and discovered a dead bird inside it. Instead of expressing concern about the product's quality, they reprimanded me when I reported the issue, insisting that the alfalfa was fine and showing little care for the potential risk it posed to my horses. They requested that I bring the bale back but would not issue a refund, even after I provided photographs. Additionally, I overheard one of the women speaking poorly about me to my manager as she walked away. The customer service from those two women left much to be desired and they were nasty, and I believe Russell's should reevaluate their hiring choices. I've been coming here for months and can't believe was treated that way.On a positive note, I want to commend the two gentlemen I encountered. They were genuinely apologetic and demonstrated good customer service despite the unpleasant behavior of the women and got me my refund.
