Horrible experience for a 4 star rated place. Slow service, bad food. Yucky margarita. The margarita tasted like one out of those bucket margaritas. I ordered a chile Relleno with rice and beans and my hub ordered the enchiladas combo with shredded beef. My Chile Relleno was cold in the middle and they brought his enchiladas with greasy ground beef instead of shredded. Not our kind of place at all. Not going back. read more

When we spied La Herradura, we noticed the parking lot was nearly full - with local cars. Good sign. Once inside, this place is clearly a favorite, not just of Hispanics but everyone. Families with children, seniors, a cross section of the town. We were there early Saturday evening, and we were lucky to get a seat after a 10" wait. Reservations seems wise, it's not a big place and it's busy full. To top it off, there was live music! The food was classic Mexican food, not spicy, served fresh and hot. Fresh tortilla chips and salsa arrived. We ordered senior plates, chicken burrito and chicken enchilada, served with rice and beans ($8.95), which were more than ample. Good service. We topped it off with sopapillas, dribbled with chocolate sauce and honey, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, tastefully served. We highly recommend this place. read more

Great place! We found this while visiting the area. The wait staff was very attentive. Very affordable and they give you plenty of food. The Grilled Chicken Salad was just right and flavorful. Service is great. This place is pretty good. In Socal its a 3.5 only because they are up against the best!. In Sheridan, it's 4.5. I have eaten here a few times. It is the best Mexican in town. Big portions. Ask for the "real" hot sauce. They water down the standard table sauce. read more

We always have great food here, service is fast and friendly. They often have a live cantante (singer and guitar player), they are very pleasant, not loud or over bearing. This place isn't fancy or anything, just go for some good food and margaritas. The spicy salsa here is my favorite. read more

I ordered a large combo platter of chile relleno, tamale, burrito, rice and beans. You can select up to three (full sized!) items, and there were plenty to select from. My favorite was pretty much everything except the burrito was ok. I ate through about half the plate and got so full off it I saved the rest for later. The flavors are so unique that you know it is freshly made. I could taste the fat, in a good way, in the tamale, and oregano in the salsa and sauce. The staff was welcoming and it was quite full of people enjoying their food on a rainy day. There was a small wait even though the restaurant was full to the gills. The only thing I regret is that when I logged into Yelp, the health score as displayed on Yelp wasn't great. read more

I was eager to get anything other than Cuban food and steaks while in Sheridan, WY visiting from Tampa. This place was a gem! Had wonderful service and drinks, and the staff were knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food (especially since I have a food allergy). In fact, it was the best Mexican food I've had in ages! Came here at the recommendation of our hotel front desk and was pleasantly surprised - the food here is authentic and flavorful. The place was very busy on a Monday night, so that should be an indication of its popularity! I see some other reviewers mentioning speed of service, and I would agree - things were "on pace" until the end when we waited 20min+ for our check, which isn't the end of the world but it was late and we were ready to go back to the hotel after a long day. Wow! Authentic Mexican food in Sheridan! Who knew?! This morning I decided to try a different breakfast of chile relleno with a shredded beef tamale ... I was not disappointed!! The chile relleno had a light, fluffy batter & was oozing cheese all over my plate! The tamale was packed full of tender, shredded beef and the masa was so soft and flavorful! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, too! No complaints! This my favorite Mexican restaurant! No need to go back to CA...ever! read more
