Came here on a Sunday afternoon, walked in and seems like the staff is all at the bar, drinking and enjoying themselves without noticing us, went ahead and seated ourselves. Waitress is friendly enough when she comes ask our drinks, but brings us stale old chips ..gross. We give her our order of baleadas, pupusas and gordita. She brings out our food , but no baleadas, instead two orders of pupusas and its the GREASIEST food ive ever received at a restaurant.. Decent prices for bad food . Id recommend any other spanish eats around instead. read more

This food was vile to be frank and the service was even worse. It took the waitress 30 minutes to even take our orders- we were a party of 4- even when there was nobody else in the restaurant. The food took an hour to come- all at different times- and was greasy and slimy; cheap but the kind of food that will land you in the bathroom for hours later. The waitress also didn't check on us one single time after the food arrived and only appeared an hour later to tell us we had to pay the check at the front of the restaurant. Terrible. The food here is very tasty. The street tacos are very similar that the ones I've tried in San Diego CA and Los Angeles. The staff is outstanding and the waitress who served me was very friendly; She makes you feel like if you were home. In my book these guys have 10 stars, too bad the limit is 5 haha. My friends and I decided it would be fun to go to a near by buffet to "feast" for Christmas Eve dinner... well to our surprise the buffet was closed. However, in our adventuring spirit we chose to go to a slightly sketchy, but potentially delicious mexican establishment located using the yelp app. I'll just say our Christmas Eve feast was not a disappointment. I ordered a chicken enchilada plate with 2 additional beef tacos. The red sauce was perfect. The meat could have had more cumin and oregano, but overall this has been the best mexican food I've had since I moved to New Orleans from Florida. It was also a very entertaining experience with spanish music videos in the background. It seemed that we were the only English speakers in the place. I will definitely be back the next time I have an enchilada craving. read more

The first time I stopped here, the food was decent. The service was good, and I liked their chips and salsa. There's a jukebox in the dining area which happened to be blaring salsa music at full blast, loud enough that I was forced to literally yell at my boyfriend to communicate with him. I had cheese enchiladas which were just okay, def greasy. But they came with some kind of potatoes on the side which were really good. We got big portions and it was cheap, fast, and better than Taco Bell. I wouldn't have shrieked in terror if someone suggested going there for dinner a second time, but I definitely would not have driven to Kenner just to go back. However, our second visit was one of The Worst Experiences I Have Had At Any Restaurant Ever, Anywhere, In My Whole Life. Yes, really. We stopped here after leaving the mall down the street and decided to run in for dinner because, well, we really had no idea where else to go. And it was right there. And we were really hungry. So we sat down at a table and looked over the menus. While waiting for our food we gorged on chips and eyeball the Mexican soap opera on the TV. While we're sitting there, bored and starving in that wait which always feels too long when you're really hungry, I looked around the restaurant. It was kind of dark in there, but suddenly my eyes caught on something. It was large and black and it APPEARED TO BE MOVING. ON THE CEILING. ABOVE OUR FUCKING TABLE. Ok, it may have been the next table over. But let me tell you, this THING was in fact one of the biggest roaches I have ever seen. In a restaurant. Where I was about to eat dinner. Prepared in their kitchen. Which I can only assume has many more roaches. We did tell our waitress about the roach. Or rather my boyfriend told her, as I promptly hightailed it out of the restaurant to cower in my car in shock and horror. Her reaction was blasé and unconcerned, and I'm not sure if it had to do with a language barrier or was just that she really didn't see what the big deal was. Saying I do not like bugs is a tremendous understatement. And I would really rather find someone's pubic hair in my food over seeing giant roaches where my food is made, within 10 feet of where I'm sitting. So if the zombie apocalypse happens and this place is the only food source within 100 miles, I will cannibalize my own family before I'll come here again. read more

The food was so good, this is my 2nd time coming here and I love this place. Today we ordered 2 carne asada burritos and my kids had the asada quesadilla for lunch today and everyone was happy and satisfied. The horchata was also very good, this is the best Mexican food we have had since moving to Louisiana from California. We will definitely be back, all my kids kept saying was this is so good lol. Had lunch here a few days ago with some friends since we were all craving mexican! When we walked in Enrique Iglesias was playing on the stereo and I knew I was going to enjoy our meal. Our waitress, Victoria, was very friendly and attentive as well. The food was outstanding. The portions were soo much bigger than what we were expecting. My favorite was the steak quesadillas with some cheddar cheese sauce and guacamole. Will definitely return to enjoy some more legit mexican cuisine. read more

One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the New Orleans area. If you are looking for cheesy monstrosities on flour tortillas this is not your place. However if you are looking for desebrada, cabeza (barbacoa) or lengua tacos on corn tortillas with onion, cilantro and lime, along with menudo, shrimp cocktail, and micheladas, then this is your place. There is often a soccer game or Mexican music videos on the TV. Sometimes there are inebriated old men singing along with the baladas. It's been a while but I think they offer pointy cowboy boots for sale if that gives you an idea of who their target crowd is. I have never had a bad meal there and it's always been an enjoyable experience. read more

I was craving some beef and something cheesy. I saw the sign out front that reads: Authentic Mexican Food. It was 5:30 PM on a Saturday. I was exceedingly disappointed in the food. The complimentary tortilla chips were somewhat greasy, they were served with 3 types of salsa which were ok. I asked for some Caso (cheese) for my chips and it finally came when my entree was served. I have no idea what it actually was because it didn't really look or taste like cheese and it wasn't even warm. The only thing that was served HOT was the tortillas for my fajitas. I'm accustomed to the fajitas being served sizzling hot in a metal plate, this was on a regular plate, and barely warm. And to add to my disappointment, the fountain soda I ordered was flat!! When I was done, the waiter confirmed I was finished and he collected my dishes and walked away, presumably to get the bill. I waited...and waited...and waited. There was no other diners in the restaurant, only a couple customers at the bar, so I walked to the bar to pay for my meal. I reluctantly left better than 20% tip. Never again! read more

I've lived 4 minutes away from this Latino joint for over 20 years and never tried it until this week We were craving Mexican and it was late 9pm on a Sunday night. Luckily we took a chance and were happily pleased. Only 2 other tables were occupied at this late hour. Quickly seated and given menus. Chips and salsa brought out quickly. Green salsa was spicy. Good but spicy. We both ordered the fajitas w chicken, beef and shrimp. Excellent. Tasty and an enormous amount of food! We both had leftovers. Guacamole was on point. Fresh and flavorable. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu. read more

I was hungry and I had just gotten off of I-10 East coming back from Baton Rouge, so I thought I would take a chance on this little restaurant. There were barely any cars in the parking lot, and now I know why. I ordered a couple of pupusas and asked the waitress if there was any type of meat that I could get inside them. She said that I could get some pork. When the pupusas came out they had literally about 1 teaspoon of refried beans on the inside with one teaspoon of cheese. They had absolutely no meat on the inside. I do not think I would have been so pyt off if it weren't for the fact that I know just how incredibly cheap refried beans are. If they weren't going to put any meat on the pupusas, they could have at least put more beans. This place is just trying to skimp on ingredients as much as possible in order to make more money, which is very silly. I would have happily paid $10 for decent pupusas than $5 for the ones that I had in front of me. read more

I ordered from Jalisco via Grub Hub. My food never came. I called the restaurant. The woman who answered snapped at me so rudely ("You know this is a restaurant?! Why would you call and play like that?!") like I couldn't possibly have ordered something, or maybe she thought I was plsying a joke. I contacted Grub Hub and they canceled the order. I wish I could say if the food was good or bad but I can say with certainty the service is awful. read more
