We were greeted with a smile upon entry. After being sat, I asked what their top sellers were. The lovely host pointed us towards the birria which is exactly what I ordered. My boyfriend got the 4 tacos (lengua, pollo, bistec, and pork). The food was so good although the oil my tacos were cooked in tasted a little old. I masked that taste once I dipped them in the consomé, drizzled them in the salsa, and spritzed them with lime. That's the reason for the deduction in stars. My horchata was also really good. Boyfriend liked his sweet tea- said it tasted homemade. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant and the Univision playing on the TV. Love my little taco spot in Kenner. I used to visit a lot when I lived close and decided to stop in while in the area shopping. I had their delicious street tacos, a variety that included steak, pork, chicken, and beef tongue. They're always sweet and friendly and the service is amazing! read more

I have no idea how I ended up at this place. It's almost at the end of Williams blvd by the casino. You could drive right past it. We walked in and my fiancé was horrified. The menu is in Spanish only! I'm fluent so I described the menu to her. We had some beef and chicken tacos and 2 of the 1/2 liter Mexican cokes with sugar as opposed to corn syrup. I am going with 4 stars based on the entire meal because all in all the food was good. The flautas were crispy and tasty. The chicken fajitas were good but only came with 2 tortillas whereas usually you get three. So if you get fajitas remember to order extras. They would have totally scored qa 5 out of 5 stars....but I ordered the chicken chimichanga extra crispy (something I do regularly to see if they can cook to order) and it came out limp and boring. That being said it was still tasty...but thereis just something about a crispy yummy chimichanga that just makes the experience "just right" and they missed the mark. Had a great experience. The service was super friendly and welcoming. I was just picking up some lunch, so I walked in and ordered and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. I got the chicken enchiladas plate with the salsa verde and the rice and beans, and I enjoyed everything thoroughly. The chicken in the enchiladas was flavorful and worked really well the the tortillas, salsa, and the toppings of lettuce and creamy sauce. And it was definitely a good size portion and came out to be just over 10 buck. I saw another reviewer saying that the rice and beans were a little plain which is not completely inaccurate, but I am just generally a big fan of rice and retried beans so I didn't have any problems there. The Carne Asada was incredible, tender, and flavorful. The guacamole was out of this world. The torta ranchero was the best torta I've tried in a while. To the owners of Taqueria Mi Rancho, I hope this message finds you well. On June 14th, 2021, a few of my friends and I were on vacation in New Orleans and we decided to stop for lunch at your restaurant. We wanted something quick so we decided to try the new Barria tacos. All restaurants should state whether or not their food contains peanuts or any type of nut sauce or mixture. There was nowhere in the restaurant or on the menu that stated the barria taco sauce was a nut sauce. Therefore, I ordered that as a meal and immediately knew something was wrong. I immediately started to feel my throat itch and close up. I didn't think much of my reaction until I went back to our hotel to go to sleep. When I woke up, I was swollen with hives and blisters all over my body to the point where I could not even move. I did not understand the reaction I was having until after I had left the restaurant. I ended up figuring out that the sauce was a nut-based sauce. I have never had that bad of an experience at a restaurant ever in my life. I would have been understanding if there was information listed about the nutrition/ingredients in the food but there was not. For future reference or just a piece of advice, I would suggest that you make sure that you make available all information for all foods, including sauces so that this doesn't happen again to another innocent individual like myself. Overall the environment was very welcoming, the establishment was clean and the staff was very respectful. This message is not in any way shape or form to get any of the staff in trouble or to offend you all, I just want to make sure that you're aware of the things that occur in your place of business. The Mexican food here is very authentic. I grew up in California and its been so hard to find good Mexican food that doesn't taste like it came out of a box. We had queso with homemade chips, the burrito with both beef and pork and added sour cream, and the homemade tamales.... The burrito was so good we ordered another one to take home. My friend and I ordered the Bistec Ranchero torta, three tacos de tripa (bien dorada), and a barbacoa taco, carne asada taco and carnitas taco. I loved the salsa they have, the creamy green, spicy salsa that I usually prefer on my tacos! The torta was wow, so amazinggggg! It was huge!
