Where can you find a Village that has a great Movie theater complex and the eateries to go along with it.
    Joel C.

What is one of the greatest places that you can see across to the many areas of Point Loma and the Naval Center? Yes, there are many places that have great connections to the many areas of San Diego and those on or near the Point Loma area with the many places of San Diego there are many connections to each other. Travel by Trolley and the many busses you can tell the many areas of La Jolla and the Hillsides are filled with the many large house and the many medical and Research Labs. Yes, the many areas of La Jolla have the many colleges and the Shopping zones which cover from the University Town Center and the many smaller shopping areas. The many areas of La Jolla have one point that has been the center point of the many malls which has been the La Jolla Village Square with the split of the main street that runs down the middle you can get to the banks and the restaurants that are there. Selection of the La Jolla Village Square is the Ralphs Fresh fare Store with one of the best delis and the store that prides itself on the customer service and the large parking lot. The many times that I have visited the Village with the theater you can still get the same prices for the movies they have with the AMC theater group that has opened many locations with the new one at UTC Shopping Mall. There is many a selection of the grocery stores with whole foods markets and the out of state grocers that have custom made dishes and the specialty foods for large groups and those that need vegan foods, and there are those stores that have the specialty foods and the sit-down restaurant it's called a mixed media store for those which are Jewish and preferer the Koecher. With the many locations at the La Jolla Village Center you will find a full-service transit center you can catch the many buses that can take you to the many areas of the City of La Jolla where you can contact the many express busses and the city of Oceanside. With the Two Parts of La Jolla Village, you can walk to either side and still have time to make the movies or to one of the many great restaurants. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, the La Jolla Village Shopping Center is one that has two parts the great eateries and with the AMC theater you can see the many movies and get some playground shopping at Best Buy. With the Trolley at the Nobel Station, you can take the day and go exploring and have your own walk about with the La Jolla area there is so much to explore and the great history to find and learn about. La Jolla Village is one of the best places to chop and get to the theater and have time for lunch.

    Lower (East) Parking Lot

La Jolla Village Square is a rather tired shopping center these days with a good number of vacant stores. It sits on two levels with underground parking, above ground parking lots, and a new parking structure shared with the Nobel Drive San Diego Trolley station. The upper (west) level is dominated by a Ralphs and a Trader Joe's. Parking on this level is rather screwy and tight. The lower (east) level has multiple discount stores Marshalls, Ross, World Market, DSW, and others, along with fast food and casual dining. There's an AMC theater inside on the lower level. Indoor storefronts tend to be personal and professional services, but the indoor part of this center is rather dead. Twenty years ago, this was a bustling place. I hope the Trolley Station can help bring back some life.

I usually leave the car at home and take the Amtrak down to San Diego these days. With the finishing of the northern section of the UC San Diego blue line trolley, I finally get to revisit some of my old stomping grounds in the La Jolla area with relative ease. Back in June, I hopped on the blue line trolley and got off here at the Nobel Drive Station. That afternoon, I visited Chipotle, the AMC La Jolla 12, and Starbucks. It was a nice change of scenery as the downtown area has gotten worse throughout the years.

Finally, something worthwhile coming to LJVS!

La Jolla Village Square was never a good mall, even when they had Tower Records. I'll admit that I used to be a regular at AMC and the Sports City Brewery on the second floor. That was a long time ago, and this place just doesn't do anything for me anymore. Okay, something good. - The view of the Mormon Temple - Ralphs - Urban Plates moving in. Complete insanity. - Parking. - Schlotzsky's? Bahahah There are so many reasons NOT to come to this mall but Urban Plates isn't one of them.

All the decorations in December are blue and white. Both trees are blue and white, presents blue and white. Wall sconce, elevator blue and white. No red or green anywhere. Everything blue and white. Why is that?

Worst.Parking.Ever. Completely blocked me in. (note lane line)
    Heather S.

This shopping center has the WORST parking/parkers I have ever seen. Ever. A few months ago I was completely blocked in by someone who literally parks like an idiot (I'd use a different word, but trying to keep it G-rated). See picture. Today, a woman rear-ended me. When I pulled over to park and look at my bumper she kept on driving. Really? How is that okay? If this shopping center wasn't so conveniently located near where I live I would avoid it like the plague. I recommend parking far away from everyone else and staying away from the main road that runs closest to the stores and restaurants.

    Lena Y.

Basic shopping center with fairly easy parking. The retail stores have average stock, but good to browse.

There's a great range of both high-end (Hermes, Chanel, Tiffany, Carolina Herrera, etc) and affordable (Uniqlo, H&M) shopping along with both expensive and fast-casual dining. I love going to Marugame Udon for lunch and grabbing a quick bite, or Haidilao for hot pot if I want something a little nicer. There's also a VERY popular Din Tai Fung here. In addition, there's a food court with some fast food options, a Shake Shack, etc. It's a beautifully maintained and designed outdoor mall with plenty of space to sit and lots of kiosks where you can get coffee or small treats. Overall it's a phenomenal mall (maybe I'm biased because I haven't had to deal with parking though) and I'll definitely return.

I had a very disappointing experience at this mall because of the customer service at Panini Cafe,…read moreone of the businesses located inside. My pickup order was significantly delayed, but that was not the main issue. Delays happen. The real problem was the way I was treated when I simply asked for an update. One staff member responded by pointing at the monitor and saying, "OK?" in a dismissive and aggressive tone. He did not check on the order, explain anything, apologize, or show basic courtesy. I raised the issue with the manager at Panini Cafe, and she was professional and said she would address it, which I appreciated. However, the staff member himself appeared to avoid the situation and showed no apology, accountability, or remorse. This kind of experience reflects poorly not only on the restaurant but also on the overall customer experience at the mall. When businesses inside a mall treat customers this way, it affects how visitors perceive the entire place. Customers should be able to ask a reasonable question about a delayed order without being treated disrespectfully. I left with a very negative impression and will think twice before returning to this mall for food or pickup orders.

Chipotle and Five Guys ended up being great additions to the center. Roy's was the last "anchor" business to leave the center. It was fairly recent, but I doubt there are plans to replace it. Pros: This is a solid spot for finding discounted name brand items if you are willing to look through the racks. There is a decent variety of clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories, and you can sometimes find really good deals depending on timing. The store is organized by section, which makes it easier to browse compared to some other discount stores. It is also in a large shopping center, so it is convenient to pair with other errands or food stops nearby. Staff are usually helpful when you need assistance with locked items or sizing, and checkout is generally quick even when it is busy. Cons: The biggest issue is inconsistency. Some visits have great finds, while other times the selection feels picked over or limited. It also gets very crowded, especially on weekends or during sales, which can make shopping feel a bit hectic. Parking can also be annoying during peak hours since the plaza is shared with many other stores. Verdict: Overall, this is a reliable place for discounted shopping if you are patient and go at the right time. Weekdays or off peak hours are usually the best for selection and a smoother experience.
