I am not a Nordstrom Rack shopper. I could count on one hand how many times I have been in one prior to this one opening. But now that this one is within walking distance of my house I have probably been there close to 10x. Pros about this store. It is clean (probably because it is brand new) is usually neat (doesn't have the unkempt look Ross, Burlington or TJ Maxx has), staff are friendly, it is well stocked. Cons: it seems more expensive than other Nordstrom Rack's I have been to. Maybe it is just the types of items I am looking at, maybe it is inflation but the deals they have did not seem to be that great. I have found better deals online. It is nice to go there to see something in person then come home and order if from another place for less money. One thing I thought was weird about this store (not sure if it is all Nordstrom Racks or just this one due to being new) but they had a pair of Uggs in store that were 99.98. Online on their own Nordstrom Rack website they were 79.98 and I asked if they could price match their own website and they said no. So I had to go home and order them and luckily since it is the holiday season I got free shipping (free shipping online is usually if you spend $89 or more) I will keep popping in here from time to time (get my husband's Jack Black here, as Ulta in the same shopping plaza doesn't carry the size product he uses) and I love all the Tony Moly stuff by the registers is half what it is anywhere else (lotion tubes) as it makes great stocking stuffers and kidlet loves the squish mallow Tony Moly lip glosses. read more

Not a pleasant experience. The manager on duty came across as snarky and unprofessional. Around 4/11 at 4:30 PM, I witnessed her being rude to another customer who was trying to make a return. She told the customer to go to Mission Valley instead and stated that she herself was the manager when asked to speak to one. The customer was understandably upset. Seeing this interaction while waiting in line made me feel unwelcome as well. Later, that same manager was taking photos on her phone, though it wasn't clear why. This isn't the first time I've observed this kind of behavior at this location--I've witnessed similar rudeness twice now. Even though it wasn't directed at me, it still left a bad impression. They could really benefit from better customer service training, especially at the management level. read more

I've been shopping at Nordstrom Rack for years and have never returned or exchanged anything before. This was the first time I had a problem, and the way it was handled was extremely disappointing. I purchased a pair of boots for around $100. After wearing them, they caused severe pain in my foot to the point where I could barely continue walking. I called customer service and was told to contact the store directly. When I went to this Clairmont location, the employee I spoke with was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in helping. He didn't even look at the boots, ask any questions, or try to understand the issue. He simply acted like he didn't care and offered no solution. I called again afterward and was left on hold for nearly 15 minutes, only to be told there was nothing they could do. No effort was made to help a long-time customer who had a legitimate issue with a product. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I simply expected basic customer service and some willingness to help. Unfortunately, this location provided neither. Very disappointing experience. read more

This is a decent location. The store is clean, there is plenty of parking, and it's in a good shopping center. I'm disappointed with the overall selection. There aren't very many purses or wallet and the clothing prices are still too expensive for me. I do like the shoe selection, that seems to be the bright spot. I personally prefer the other location. read more

I like visiting this mall. There is a Krispy Kreme and a Main Chick Hot Chicken here. Now there is a Nordstrom Rack. I visited for the grand pre-opening party. They served sparkling water, cookies, and pretzels. Sparkling water was cold, bubbly, and refreshing. I noticed they have Ray Ban sunglasses but no Wayfarers. They also had Hoka but only the Arahi 6. I liked the candle selection. Store is nice and clean. There is a good selection at below list price. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I've found overpriced goods that wouldn't sell at a regular Nordstrom's. Bought 3 different brand heavy duty iPhone charging cables recently, and one after another failed after only a couple of months. Too many to be a coincidence! I've stuck with Nordstrom because they have integrity. Apparently, this only applies to the full blown stores. It's obvious to me that a Nordstrom buyer thought he had a great deal from a supplier. He didn't. What he got were batches of defective goods at a big discount. The problem is that knowingly stocking these shoddy goods undermines Nordstrom's hard earned reputation for quality goods at premium prices backed by class "A" customer service. I no longer trust Nordstrom after patronizing the main stores. I've bought expensive shoes and suits there for 40+ years. "Hello" Amazon! Customer Service had an opportunity to resolve this issue at The Rack in Clairmont and they failed. Very un Nordstrom like in my opinion. read more

So very excited to have a Nordstrom Rack in the neighborhood. I generally shop at Nordstrom or The Rack online but occasionally will venture out to a store, so I'm super excited to have one in the neighborhood. I love the option to ship and pick up in store as well. I wouldn't normally use this option but now that the store is more convenient I've already used it twice! I read another review where someone said they were followed by loss prevention and I have to echo that experience. I was also with my 4 year old so perhaps they seem to follow customers with kids more often? I'm all about security and feel it's needed so I don't mind, but I will say I think I'd turn the focus away from the kids who have supervising parents to other areas. I'll reserve judgement until I visit a few more times but my initial thoughts are that it felt more like a Ross with much higher prices than a Nordstrom Rack to me. I'm willing to pay for nicer brands and a cleaner more organized experience, so if this location can check those boxes I'll be a very happy customer. read more

Well wanted to come here for Grand Opening but did not make it . So today I had a Chance and this is what I Thought . Well first I walk in and was greeted which was nice . Next I walk around and Nordstrom Rack sells lots of big name brand's Clothing and lots of shoes for all occasions !! Well the store is clean and well organized with the prices kind of high still . As I was walking around I noticed that they kind of reminds me of Marshall or Macys but Marshall is less expensive and Nordstrom Rack is well organized and it is located in the Clairemont Square Shopping Center . As for Service it was ok but no one asked me if I needed help but I was just looking anyway . Overall It's a Clothing Store and prices are a bit high still . But I surely can see myself coming back again !! read more

We had a great experience at this Nordstrom Rack. I am not much of a shopper so when my wife bought me a leather jacket that did not fit, we had to return it for a different size and I did not try out the new size which unfortunately did not fit as well and it was past 60 days that I had bought it so I had no receipt and no way to confirm the purchase - only the tags that were removed and the jacket that was worn once. The team at this store - Lesly, Dalia and Erika - were phenomenal. They helped me understand the return policy without sounding or appearing rude or inconsiderate. They further explained that we would need to find the purchase based off the credit card and when that did not show up any result (as it was past 60 days of purchase) - they went over and above to look harder and do a deeper search on their system to finally locate the purchase on the credit card and so confirmed that it was legitimate. I almost left the store feeling so embarrassed that I did not save the receipt but they were very accommodating and made me feel comfortable all the while researching for a solution to my problem. I would honestly walked away without a refund as it was my mistake for not keeping the receipt and not returning the item on time, but I ended up getting a store credit for it so I am more than happy with it. More than the actual issue of return - its the way they handled it and the customer service they provided - that was way above my expectations for any Nordstrom, so the fact that I got the same level at a Nordstrom Rack - speaks for itself. Besides this - the store is clean, well organized and does not feel chaotic like the one in Carmel Mountain area - their selection is vast, prices are reasonable and people are great ! The problem was at the front counter when I made a return. The store was quiet on a week day morning. The item was a black stretch jumpsuit for exercise. I returned it because of the fit. The tags were on the jumpsuit, it was 2 weeks later, and I had the receipt. The clerk scowled and asked if I had worn the item. Yes, to try it on at home. She picked off a few white dog hairs and told me to return clothing clean. I had been treated well at the Carmel Mtn. Branch on a busy day with a line at the counter. Save yourself the headache and go to any other Nordstrom Rack. They do not label things correctly here and then don't honor the price that they incorrectly marked on clothing. Terrible customer service. Tried on jeans today, loved the fit, and then waited in a line to pay, only to be told that they won't honor a price that their team incorrectly marked. The manager even tried saying that the actually price wasn't that bad... Just awful customer service all around. Team needs a lot of training. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I was really excited when Nordstrom Rack opened near me because I used to shop at the Mission Valley location all the time. I've spent over $500 here during previous visits. Today, I went in with my two toddlers, dressed casually in my Sunday lounge clothes, just looking for a few items. However, from the moment I walked in, I was followed by loss prevention. At first, I thought it was just them doing their job, but it became clear that I was being singled out and watched more closely than other customers. It felt like I was being racially profiled for not being dressed up. Maybe if I had worn my nursing attire or something more "polished," I wouldn't have been treated this way. After this uncomfortable experience, I decided to leave with my children and take my business elsewhere. Shame on this store for not understanding how to treat all customers with respect. I really hope they learn from this review and train their staff better on how to blend in with the crowd instead of making customers feel uncomfortable. read more
