Every time I come down to San Diego to visit my daughter, I usually stop by Westfield UTC. I really like this place because it's clean, nice, and there are a lot of food options, so we can just walk around, relax, do a little shopping, and eat all in one area. There are a few restaurants here that I personally like, especially Din Tai Fung and Haidilao. There's also Starbucks and plenty of other spots depending on what you're in the mood for. The whole area just has a comfortable vibe to it compared to a lot of other malls. Parking has honestly never been too difficult for me either. Even when it gets busy, I can usually still find a spot without too much trouble.

Probably the nicest outdoor mall I have been to! Tranquil, pleasant, beautiful and so many place to sit, relax and soak up the San Diego sunshine and enjoy the breezes. It's get busy, but there are many little enclaves and areas to just be and hang out. I also like the stores and shopping here is a lot of fun! One thing that detracts from the joy of UTC, the paid parking. They charge to enter, grab and ticket and within 59 minutes, you owe them money. This feels like a real money grab. It leaves this consumer with not the best feeling. Yes, the mall is top tier for sure, but charging to enter really does take a joy away from the experience.

You already know! Despite the initially confusing parking and challenges navigating the mall, this remains a top tier destination in San Diego. Plentiful stores of all types and restaurants. A movie theater. Clean and spacious. Can't go wrong coming by, whether it's for a short break or a full day of retail therapy.

This is a small what can I say there's shopping places but they're also as a growing amount of food places and do we really need to have like five different noodle places and 10 different boba places I don't know you design but that seems to be what it is starting to become an also parking you do have to pay now first hour is free and after that you do have to pay I mean it is not like crazy expensive but now you do have to pay for parking this is a sign of the times unfortunately and also bathrooms many places do not have bathrooms but they do have the mall restrooms which are well let's say they could be maintained a little bit better and because of all of these new restaurants being open around them all the food court is also I guess needs a little bit improvements because people are not visiting the food court as much due to the popularity of the new restaurants open in the mall

This is a nice mall. I'm surprised that it was busy. I thought malls were dying out since everything is online these days. I also thought it was weird that they were charging for parking. They have a wide range of restaurants to eat at as well as snacks/desserts. For clothing, they range from economical to luxury brands.

Shopping in La Jolla, San Diego, California... La Jolla, in general, is the fancier part of San Diego. I haven't been to its mall, Westfield UTC, so I was curious. My main goal was to visit the Pop Mart which we don't have in Hawai'i. At first, I was surprised at the ticketed parking. I read quickly that the first 2 hours are free, so I browsed the mall quickly. I don't think I finished, but I got a good overview of the type of shops here... they seem more upscale. The restroom was very beautiful and clean! I was quite happy and satisfied with my visit overall! I also was surprised by the Pop Mart vending machine near the water fountains. Too bad there were no Labubus in it! LOL!

Great mall that offers a premier shopping and dining experience in an open-air setting. The selection of stores is endless, there's something for everyone from luxury brands to essentials and a variety of restaurants, bars and desert shops. One of the perks I love is that there is FREE 2 hour parking which is rare, the mall does get crowded but you usually always find a spot. Great value finds in all the stores and the service is typically very friendly in the stores and out in the open.

I really do like this mall but they need to fix the parking situation. This is the only mall in San Diego that you have to pay for parking. Now they reduced free parking to just one hour when it was at least two before. This is just corporate greed at its best.

The crap that's called UTC. The worst.
    Sara B.

The worst. Literally don't come here. Parking sucks. And tonight of all nights they closed multiple gates with no warning or notice and cars are piled up not moving and can't get out of mall. All this with an hour free parking. At this point everyone will be paying for overstaying the free hour. What a piece of crap!!

Worthy of La Jolla. First time Doc brought me here. Yelp Elite All Star and Prolific Yelper friend Jackie K messaged me that there was a Pop Mart in San Diego. As soon as Doc finished work we headed to this beautiful mall. Impressive with shops, eateries, play area for kiddies, wonderful place for families, couples and friends to enjoy. The four legged family members were out and about- all pedigreeds, no poi dogs(mixed) Super pet friendly outdoor mall. Gotta make a stop here if visiting La Jolla. See the locals and visitors in a trendy, safe mall.

My husband and I specifically went to try the Venchi gelato store, and ended up really enjoying walking about this Westfield. This place has plenty of parking, and even if it was busy, it's hard to imagine you wouldn't be able to find parking. The only downside, if it can be considered one, is that it's not an indoor mall. But it has a lot of stores, and an amazing variety. Like most Westfield malls, it has a nice layout with a high standard of decor. This is actually my favorite Westfield mall. There are high, mid, and "low" end stores. There's literally something for everyone. I had a lot of fun just window shopping and checking out stores like the Popmart, Apple story, etc. Enjoyed just walking around watching people, checking out the koi pond, statues, etc. Even on a Friday night, it wasn't that busy either. I would love to come back some day, just to browse around again and maybe try some of the food options here.

WESTFIELD UTC @ LA JOLLA This is a SPOT you cannot miss, whether you're just travelling or visiting, stop by here for the best foods and shops! Parking is free for the first two hours, you'll receive a ticket so be sure to keep it in order to get out. I really love Westfield UTC, everything is spacious and outside, I really love how all the stores are boutiques, stores that are familiar (apple, pacsun, nordstrom, etc), and also luxury stores! There is also a numerous selection of food and drinks, such as Wushiland for Boba, Bakeries, and numerous of sit down restaurants! Overall, I love this mall and it's so incredible! Definitely recommend stopping by! The selection is fantastic, and the value can be pricey, but it's still affordable!

LA JOLLA VILLAGE SQUARE @ LA JOLLA…read more Parking is honestly the main reason I'm giving this shopping center three stars. The parking lot is one of the worst parts of the experience. I come here pretty often for places like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, and there are also plenty of other great stores and restaurants, including Chipotle, Ralphs, and more. Unfortunately, the parking lot feels poorly designed. The layout is confusing, the turns are very tight, and it can be frustrating to navigate, especially when it's busy. That being said, I really enjoy everything else about this shopping village. It's very UCSD-friendly, so you'll see a lot of students hanging out here throughout the day. The atmosphere is great, everything is very walkable, and I love the palm trees and overall scenery. The area is also kept clean, which makes it an enjoyable place to spend time. The variety of stores is excellent, and it's convenient to be able to shop, grab food, and run errands all in one place. If the parking situation were improved, this would easily be one of my favorite shopping centers in the area. Overall, despite the frustrating parking, I still think it's a great place to visit because of the location, store selection, walkability, and overall atmosphere.

Pros: This is a solid spot for finding discounted name brand items if you are willing to look through the racks. There is a decent variety of clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories, and you can sometimes find really good deals depending on timing. The store is organized by section, which makes it easier to browse compared to some other discount stores. It is also in a large shopping center, so it is convenient to pair with other errands or food stops nearby. Staff are usually helpful when you need assistance with locked items or sizing, and checkout is generally quick even when it is busy. Cons: The biggest issue is inconsistency. Some visits have great finds, while other times the selection feels picked over or limited. It also gets very crowded, especially on weekends or during sales, which can make shopping feel a bit hectic. Parking can also be annoying during peak hours since the plaza is shared with many other stores. Verdict: Overall, this is a reliable place for discounted shopping if you are patient and go at the right time. Weekdays or off peak hours are usually the best for selection and a smoother experience.
