Options weren't plentiful, but R Bar-N-Grill stood out because of Friday fish fry options like lake perch and bluegill. I ordered cheese curds as an appetizer and the bluegill with sour cream and chive fries at an upcharge while my brother ordered broccoli cheddar bites as an appetizer with a cheeseburger and regular fries. Both the cheese curds and broccoli cheddar bites were pretty basic, like what you'd get out of a frozen box. The curds had a beer battered flavor, which is nice, but the small potion disappointed me. Even at a reasonable $4.25, I don't think the amount I received was worth it. My brother said his cheeseburger was seasoned well and the bun had a nice toastiness to it, but the cheese wasn't melted and seemed to have a fake quality similar to Kraft Singles. His regular fries were not salted at all. His quote at the end of his meal was "edible, but not favorable." Chive fries are always good, especially with the sour cream sauce to dip them in. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the sour cream sauce with my fries and didn't even realize it until I was almost done. Oh well. The bluegill pieces weren't huge, but I received eight of them and they tasted great, especially after I recently had bluegill elsewhere that wasn't very good. If you like bluegill, I recommend it at R Bar-N-Grill.
