A recommendation from a local in Barcelona and it was a great one. We were told to have the tasting menu and it didn't disappoint. I didn't get a chance to go over the regular menu so I can't quite say what was on it.
It's one of those neighborhood restaurants that you walk by with seating on the sidewalk. A local known spot for resident but. But once inside, it a cute restaurant. Not big but has that homey feel. Like I mentioned, we had reservations for the tasting menu. Since it was in Spanish, I was able to understand some of the dishes but the others were a surprise once we received it. Also, wine was accompanied with the menu.
Started off with some olives. Plain and simple yet so tasty. Once the dishes started rolling it, you couldn't wait to see what was next. Halfway through the meal, lemon sorbet was brought out to cleanse our pallet for the second part. Each dishes that came out was amazing. Seared ahi tuna, octopus, duck liver with fig spread, scallops with caramelized onions, fried prawns, steak, croquettes... Dessert was also served, a plate of different cakes and pastries. I don't know how the dishes are chosen but they all seem to go well with one another.
All in all, this place was amazing. Downfall, there was a guy that would go from one table to another to talk to the guest. Im assuming the locals but not once did he come over to check up on us to see how it was going and if we like our meal. It could be the owner. Guess he didn't want to intrude on the tourist. Anyways, food was great. read more
