I keep trying to give this spot a shot and they continually disappoint. I've got sandwiches here, bagels and wraps. I'll say the wraps are decent and can't complain about them much. The bagels, oh God the bagels. How is it that you can have a bagel that looks light and fluffy but it's so dry and doughy/chewy. I mean you just continually have to chew and chew and chew. Ugh. As well you ask for it to be toasted and buttered and instead of having nice melted butter on it, it's dry as all hell. Just how? If you get a sandwich on a bagel it's the same crappy bagel and usually the deli meat is dry as well, like it's old. They are also expensive for what they serve. The front counter workers are usually nice though. I'm not sure why they have good reviews, must be from the transplants that have moved into Astoria and NY in general and don't know what a real NY bagel should be like. The problem is there really the only bagel spot in this general area, otherwise you have to walk several blocks away or avenues away. read more

This spot is right on the corner. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor is nice because they have heated lamps if you get cold in the winter time. I come here for breakfast every now and then and the food is good, simple and a reasonable price. My usual order is an egg white omelette with home fries or the fruit salad. We call it in so it's ready by the time we get there. It's always fresh. My wife tried the French toast this time around and she said it was delicious. This was such a cute little neighborhood spot. There was plenty of seating both indoors and out and when I visited on a Sunday afternoon, it was quite lively. The food is great but the service is poor. I come here everyday for the same breakfast. My order is a quick one. Nothing fancy. This places services the three people behind me quicker than my order. (full sandwiches, huge salads, smoothies) I never understand. It always tends to happen when I leave a tip. Which is the weirdest thing. I guess the Tip money doesn't mean anything because it never helps me get my breakfast any faster. It not like its busy either. They have screwed up my breakfast order numerous times and yet I've continued to come in and never complained. Today the guy argued with me on the phone when I told him not to put jalapeños on my Mexican wrap. He be became defensive and said "ITS NOT JALAPEÑOS IT'S PICO DE GALLO!!"....uhh no it was a handful of jalapeños i bit into the last time, and never had those on a Mexican wrap before. Normally my go-to for coffee. I also get my sandwiches from here and eat them there. Today I happened to order a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and it was to go. I just got to work and took a bite from my sandwich to discover this horror. I can't go back since I work in the Bronx but this is unacceptable. I wonder if they give people who take sandwiches to go a cheaper or older version of bacon. This bacon was full of fat and no real meat. Holy Mother of deliciousness! I don't know about the entire menu or the actual venue but the grilled chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers is amaze balls! Not the hugest fan of their rolls.....but I did order it in the early afternoon...so maybe they're fresh and awesome in the morning.
