Traveled all the way from Miami for the best bagels in ny. I wish I bought a dozen back but didn't have room in my suitcase . The egg bagel with lox and all the fixings was perfect. Crispy on the outside soft and chewy on the inside. Perfect. A must. Quick service. No frills ambiance. You feel transported to simpler times here. Loved every second of it.

This big boy weighs 7.55oz!! That's 2.5oz larger than its competitors! Each bagel is $1.45. I came in at 7am and there were no lines. The bagel itself was a bit of a letdown. The first untoasted bite proved that the bagel was dense, but it doesn't have an airy bite. The bagel is generously topped with seasoning but not quite salty enough. Due to its hefty size, the inside was really dry. Not the worst bagel and not the best bagel I've had. Definitely worth the price considering its size.

Good coffee. I stop here to pick up breakfast. I was staying in the neighborhood for a few days and chose this spot. Breakfast was a typical fast moving New York classic. Live, love and laugh -Sha

Beautiful and tasty egg everything bagel with lox spread!

I've actually never dined in here (have always taken orders to go), nor have I ordered the coffee, pastries, or any extras. This review is specifically for the bagels and spreads. This place is really AWESOME! With the many bagel places here in Astoria, it's very easy to feel overwhelmed with all of the available choices. Well, look no further! Bagels and Brew has what I think are the perfect bagels with cream cheese spreads that actually taste like cream cheese. I know that probably sounds weird, but the cream cheese tastes very fresh when compared to other places in the neighborhood, right? Or am I the only one who feels that way? It's so hard to explain. Anyway, along with the awesome bagels and spreads, the service is also quite good. Quick, efficient. I'm almost never in there for longer than just a few minutes. The guy who works the register is very friendly and pleasant. Bagels and Brew is actually a little bit of a trek from my apartment over here on 30th Ave, but that's more than fine with me. I don't mind walking about 20 minutes to get an amazing bagel. That's how good these are!

This is my go-to seamless delivery option for my morning breakfast. Usually I go to another spot for takeout if I'm out and about, but when I want to order breakfast in bed or it's too cold to go out - I go straight here without even questioning other options. They have a pretty large selection of items - I usually go with a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a bagel. The bagels overall are maybe a 3.5 compared to other bagels, but I'm more of a breakfast sandwich person anyways. If I want just a bagel with spread I'd go to my takeout spot. The delivery is also on point and in the year and a half I've been ordering from this place, it's never been more than 40 mins and no issues. A great place to add to your seamless queue.

I literally order from this place almost every single Saturday and Sunday. My day doesn't start till I've had a breakfast from B&B! Their sandwiches, whether you're feeling an egg or cc bagel, are always full and filling. They are also extremely neat and I love a neat sandwich. Their delivery is extremely quick and efficient. I may or may not live one block away but doesn't matter. They are great!!!

Burnt inside and out. It went straight in the trash. Shame on you.

Best Momos around!…read more If the title doesn't tell you everything, this review will. I found out about this place months ago and it was finally time to give it a try. My spouse and I are always down to find good momos, and this being close by and Tibetan cuisine, it was definitely a must. Ambience: It seats a decent crowd. It has nice Tibetan artwork and you feel the warmth from the owners. It's cozy and it felt great. Service: Top notch. I don't say this lightly. The server sat us down and was just so joyful. Her smile and demeanor made you feel welcomed. Brought us water and asked the usual and offered to explain any dishes. Now we are onto the good -- might I say great -- part. THE FOOD. We didn't order momos on our first visit. Food: My wife got the Himalayan Rice set (chicken) and I got the Rildok. We also got the Shabhaley -- from the description I thought it was literal meat. The Shabhaley, to put it, looks like an empanada. It was far from it in the best possible way. The pastry was crisp but soft and the beef filling was divine! Seasoned with so much flavor and it was paired with a beautiful sauce. The Rildok was exquisite. In my opinion -- I even told one of the servers, whom I now know is one of the owners, that the flavor profile reminded me of a cheeseburger, and it's my favorite new dish. The Himalayan Rice set was awesome. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The tingmo (like a bread) was soft and delicious, paired well with the chicken. The dal reminded me of my own homeland's dal. We've now been back here multiple times. My goal is to try the entire menu. The vegetable khoty momo was surprisingly my favorite, and I'm someone who loves meat. I've now had all the flavors and preparations of the momos, and you can't go wrong! This place is a gem. Their quality of food is top notch, and their actual aunties are in the back making this with so much love. I want everyone to try it. The owner and his staff are amazing and welcoming. They remembered me from my second visit, and that speaks volumes. They're all down to earth and it shows. The passion they have for their food and their kindness shines through. Parking: Can be rough depending on time of day.

The momos took a while but the curry was out quickly. Both were so flavorful! The sauce that came with the kothey momo cut perfectly through the mild chicken filling. It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

Me and my girl was looking for a coffee shop that was laptop friendly and closed late since we came after work. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve any alcoholic beverages as I saw a lot of good reviews on that portion. We came, we sat down on a Saturday night. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It took a really long time for them to serve me my iced strawberry matcha drink. And even longer for the food. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. I went again by myself the next day to see if it was better service and it was pretty packed. There was actually 3-4 people at the front but even then it was so hard to get someone to take my order, ask for napkins, for the check, etc. While there was no time limit on Saturday, there was a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes on Sunday. would I go again? Maybe, but it's def veering towards the no side.
