Went here today for lunch. There were three of us. I wonder if they add the tip for three people. The bill for shrimp ceviche and one mojito was 43$ plus tip. I unfortunately left the copy of the bill. Thr ceviche was 20$, the drink was 13$. How could 33$ jump to 43$? I think the tip was added and I did not notice, so I paid an extra tip. I was at a nearby event catered by La Lupita so I didn't eat at their place but I can review their food. The mole chicken is superb, beans, rice are good, pork and chicken better than okay. Salsa and elote are very good. They used attractive Mexican ceramics for service and had more than adequate serving help. Hi everyone well tho was the second time we come here and service was good friendly. Clean place also food was decent I ordered a huarache de asada and it was good just missing sour cream so Lupita if you see this add some sour cream for more taste. My wife had the flight pozoles and she said the best one is the white flavored one out of the 3 green and red also the red a bit salty the green tasted like way to much chile morron something like that. The horchata was way to sweat so might want to add a bit of water and it will fix that. But I do recommend you guys to come and try it out for your self read more

Got the mini fajitas lunch special (one beef and one chicken). The portion size was reasonable. The meat was very tender but over-seasoned in my opinion. The tortillas were homemade but very cold. The agua de tamarindo was not very flavorful or sweet. The complimentary chips and salsa were yummy. It was busier than expected- the food did not take long to come out once ordered, but to order and cash out, it did take a while. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and is very colorful. I would come back to try more of their lunch specials or specialty cocktails. read more

Great local place in Berwyn! I've been here a few times and it has always been a good experience. Every time I look at the pictures I've taken here, my mouth gets watery and I get hungry all over again. I do like their drinks, in cool cups and taste flavorful. I usually do not like mole at restaurants but this time made me fall in love and actually experiment cooking it at home. If you have not been to La Lupita, I highly recommend giving it a go. Even if you went out of your way. Service was pretty normal and I have no complaints on that end. The music was good and kept the vibes going the entire time. The food and service were good/decent no doubt. We were just there for 5 de Mayo at lunchtime and everything went well until we got the bill. We were a little bit disappointed, I ordered a cecina dinner and I asked the waiter for some limes and sour cream. He repeated my order and he again mentioned a side of sour cream right? which we know they usually charge extra and we're ok with it. However, the sour cream side order was so small and they charged $1.50 which we think is a little steep since is not like ordering an avocado. On top of that, the icing on the cake, they also charged us $1.00 for the limes. Which by the way, they weren't many and it's not even listed on their menu as an extra item. The questions is, what kind of Mexican restaurant charges for limes my friends? Here's picture of our bill as reference so they don't get you by surprise and if you're looking to get limes for your tacos or any other traditional meal, think twice because you'll get charged...Happy 5 de Mayo and just because of that, they lost our business and we'll will not be visiting them again. We have been here twice and absolutely love it - we live in Hyde Park and happily make the drive out of the city because this place is top priority The colors, patterns, and furnishing are all in a very bright, homey style that invites and welcomes you. On weekends, you might even have live music. The food is incredible. We've had the queso fundido, pozole, enchiladas verdes de pollo, picaditas, mole, birragon, y mojarra frita de las casa (blue gill). Every single plate was incredible. We've also gotten several of the margaritas & the margarita flight. I can't recommend it enough for quality, authentic Mexican food. First time here, the food was on, my dish came with black beans that were spoiled. Service on, the waitress brought us shots of tequila at the end once we mentioned the beans situation. They have a male server who is the freaking best! I should know his name! All I know is that he's from Texas. His service is the best! Very polite and helpful when it comes to questions and ordering. The food- No manches! The food is amazing! I've had the pozole Trio, the menudo, the enmoladas and more! Out of the three pozole options, I would say the pozole verde is my fave! Pozole comes with all sorts of toppings that give it that extra awesomeness! Aguas- I've had their agua de horchata y agua de Jamaica! They're not so sweet like many places. The steak dinner was so greasy and gave my husband diarrhea. The taste was mediocre. The pozole was so disappointing! The meat was fatty and the grease was sitting on top. I really don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from. La Lupita is always a good time in my book. Some of my go to meals from here are the green pozole and the barrigón. I came with my family the other day for their first time and they also loved it. We shared a couple appetizers pictures (sorry forgot the name) but they were delicious.
