Have been looking for a new Mexican go to and belief I found it! I've only been a couple of times but the food is excellent. Prices are good, food is of high quality. Burritos are a nice size and their homemade guacamole is a must. My only con is their small parking lot. At times it's hard to find parking. I plan on making this go to Mexican spot for take out! read more

I have only ordered breakfast from here and their Omelette Mexicana is delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. I get an omelette with a side of rice, beans and potatoes plus 5 corn tortillas and a medium horchata for under $14. Can't beat that price, especially today. We had a wonderful time at Taqueria El Grande. The food was great, the quality was good, prices were reasonable, and service was quick and polite. I tried the Al Pastor tacos which were amazing. My daughter had rice and a quesadilla. We also tried the chicken enchiladas. Everything was great. The chips and salsa were fresh, the salsa was both temperature and spicy hot! Parking lot was a little cozy and the restaurant is tucked away to the side of the building next to a used appliance store. The interior leans towards the "no frills" type (paper towel rolls instead of napkins) but once the food and conversation get going we didn't notice. Staff is very friendly. Food is good but it doesn't stand out from other places in the area. I'll continue to go when I'm in the area because it's good food at reasonable prices. They used to upcharge for credit cards so I make sure I have cash although last week there was nothing posted about any additional charges. Great find for authentic Mexican food, at least as authentic as you can get. It's located in an unassuming strip mall in Brookfield and looks like a pretty crummy place from the outside. Taqueria El Grande is much better than it appears though. Lots of great drinks and food. Prices are pretty cheap for the big portions. A small place inside but there's still plenty of room it appears. It wasn't busy when we came in. The location is kind of far from most stuff so that keeps it not that busy it seems. Anyway we got drinks and food. Pina coladas were advertised on the wall, so we each got one. It's about $6 for a pretty big glass. What a value. As for the food, it has about what you expect. Lots of burritos and tacos. Each of us got the Vegetariano Burrito. It's about $7 and these were humongous. We were quite pleased with the big portions. Big ass burritos. These had beans, lettuce, and tomatoes. Came with spicy ass salsa. The other menu items include more authentic meaty selections such as tongue. Has lots of authentic Mexican flavors to choose from. It has a big selection of drinks including alcoholic such as margaritas and pina coladas and there's burritos, empanadas, and tacos. Went here a few days ago with my boys after school. It was a little busy but service was good. One of my boys ordered a burrito and the other had three tacos. I ordered a chicken chimichanga. Mine was just OK. The chicken was in tiny bits, so they fell out when cutting into the chimichanga. I would not order that again and the tacos looked the best and the burrito just a burrito. This is a great little spot. Had their pozole verde and it was delish, you know how some places have flavorless Pozole well this one had flavor and was spicy-just how I like my pozole. Cozy neighborhood taqueria. Friendly staff with fast and attentive service. Parking may je a little limited. Beforw we realized it we had ordered the identical meals. Two steak taco dinners. Tacos were delicious and fresh off the flat top grill with onions and cilantro. I usually prefer my taco steak rough-chopped, but these had a finer chop. And I liked it! Generous meat proportions which were lightly seasoned. Came with delicious home made refried beans and lightly seasoned rice. Everything needed a lught sprinkle of salt, butbI absolutely prefer this than over seasoned food. If this review ended here, I'd give El Grande 4-stars, but you already know I gave it 5-stars. So what took it over the top? The SALSAS! El Grande offers 3 salsas at the table. All three pack some heat - medium-hot heat. All three are absolutely DELICISIOSO! There's a warm red-brown salsa which arrives with the homemade chips (also yummy). Then two which came toothed table with the tacos - rojo and verde. El Grande's salsas are outstanding! These salsas take the tacos over the top. The folks at the next table ordered pozole, and if the fact that the lady finished every drop is any indication, I will be having that next time! I've lived in the area for about 5 years and Taqueria El Grande recently opened up and my wife and I decided to give it a try. We really enjoyed the food! The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is friendly also. I've tried their torta de asada and their tacos de asada as well and they're some of the best in the area. I really enjoyed their salsas also. We're glad we finally found a place that serves authentic Mexican food with a great taste. Parking is a little tight in the parking lot but otherwise everything we've tried has been great. Keep up the great work! read more

If I could give negative stars-I would after tonight! Went to dine in and waited 30+ minutes for our food! We saw/heard other people come in and place their pickup orders, others that came in after us dining in received their orders too. When we brought it to the waitress attention, we told her to let the owner know our concern-is all, since he is the cook. Next, we hear the owner tell her to tell us he fills the small orders first, so we have to wait- the waitress replied in agreement- so they basically talked about us loud enough for us to hear! We understand how busy it can get but the manner in which our concern was handled leaves a lot to be desired-the owner was not professional on how he handled our concern. We used to love coming her once per week, but this was the last time we got food at this place-so disappointed! read more

So...my son ordered some tacos etc...over the weekend and when we opened up the bag...there was food missing (a steak taco) we called them immediately and when he got back there to pick up the taco they made him pay again!!! They thought we were lying! That is very bad business... why would we lie and say we had one taco missing? Instead something worth more. We were not being dishonest and he paid for it again! Anyway, I would have told them I was not going to pay for it and walked out without the taco... Delicious. This tiny spot in lovely Brookfield is a little tough to get in to because the parking lot is always packed, but it's a good problem to have. There is street parking just to the east on Park, if the lot is too full or intimidating. These friendly folks are very busy, but they help people who come to the counter to order or pick up a phone order efficiently, and in both English and Spanish. If you need to wait for your order, there are seats at the small bar where you can have a quick drink or a cup of soup. Small tables, but the place is always packed. They've got excellent tacos, meals, and they serve breakfast, too! read more

This little spot is delicious. Service was friendly and fast. I got a liver dish that's not commonly seen in Mexican restaurants and oh my was I impressed! My friend got a vegetarian burrito that was just ok, it would be great if they offered Chile relleno for the vegetarians. Otherwise no complaints!
