Al Pastor tacos did not disappoint!
    Luke W.

We had a wonderful time at Taqueria El Grande. The food was great, the quality was good, prices were reasonable, and service was quick and polite. I tried the Al Pastor tacos which were amazing. My daughter had rice and a quesadilla. We also tried the chicken enchiladas. Everything was great. The chips and salsa were fresh, the salsa was both temperature and spicy hot! Parking lot was a little cozy and the restaurant is tucked away to the side of the building next to a used appliance store. The interior leans towards the "no frills" type (paper towel rolls instead of napkins) but once the food and conversation get going we didn't notice. Will be back, might be a good take out spot for next time!

    Pina Colada And Vegetariano Burrito

Great find for authentic Mexican food, at least as authentic as you can get. It's located in an unassuming strip mall in Brookfield and looks like a pretty crummy place from the outside. Taqueria El Grande is much better than it appears though. Lots of great drinks and food. Prices are pretty cheap for the big portions. A small place inside but there's still plenty of room it appears. It wasn't busy when we came in. The location is kind of far from most stuff so that keeps it not that busy it seems. Anyway we got drinks and food. Pina coladas were advertised on the wall, so we each got one. It's about $6 for a pretty big glass. What a value. As for the food, it has about what you expect. Lots of burritos and tacos. Each of us got the Vegetariano Burrito. It's about $7 and these were humongous. We were quite pleased with the big portions. Big ass burritos. These had beans, lettuce, and tomatoes. Came with spicy ass salsa. The other menu items include more authentic meaty selections such as tongue. Has lots of authentic Mexican flavors to choose from. It has a big selection of drinks including alcoholic such as margaritas and pina coladas and there's burritos, empanadas, and tacos. The menu has quite a bit of meaty stuff, but there's also some things for vegans and vegetarians.

    Chicken chimichanga without the extras.

Went here a few days ago with my boys after school. It was a little busy but service was good. One of my boys ordered a burrito and the other had three tacos. I ordered a chicken chimichanga. Mine was just OK. The chicken was in tiny bits, so they fell out when cutting into the chimichanga. I would not order that again and the tacos looked the best and the burrito just a burrito. I've had the tacos before and they're very good although fairly expensive. They do bring homemade chips and salsa to the table very good, but the salsa was quite hot

Pozole verde (note: I had asked for more broth-y serve)

This is a great little spot. Had their pozole verde and it was delish, you know how some places have flavorless Pozole well this one had flavor and was spicy-just how I like my pozole. Their service was excellent, place was clean and had a good selection on their menu. I'll be going back to try more dishes.

Cafe de olla. Chilquiles con cesina and torta de milanesa. All very good and authentic. Free chips and salsa.

Delicious REAL Mexican food. Friendly servers. Prices are surprisingly low for the food quality. Love it.

Just ordered the pozole for takeout and it is phenomenal! I will be visiting this restaurant every time I visit Brookfield Zoo.

My dad was down for some tacos so we hit up Taco Azteca before we got to gaming. I actually drove by the place, missing the turn to get there due to the strange parking lot situation. After a loop around the block, we pull in to the shared parking lot and headed inside. My dad was looking at the menu on the drive up and was waffling between a taco salad and a burrito. Once I placed my order for a beef burrito, my dad followed up with the same thing. We tried to find a place to sit but the place isn't too conducive to eating in with the few tables they had were either taken or dirty from the prior visitor. The staff was super nice and friendly in trying to get a table cleaned up for us. We ended up snagging one and were promptly served tortilla chips with some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I'm not big on guac as I find it to taste too similar to pumpkin (everyone I tell this looks at me like I am crazy) but this stuff was delicious and had a nice kick to it. My dad found the sauce in one of the bottles to be spicy as hell and passed on using more of it. I found them to be quite yummy but I love me some heat. We nearly devoured half the chips by the time the food came out. They were that good and the food came out that fast. I'm used to Mexican-sized burritos but these might take the cake. They were MASSIVE. I showed everyone I know and their eyes got huge when they saw how big it was. The fries that came with it were those with the little bits of batter on them and I knew they were going to be good. I knew we were in for a good time. How do you even eat something that big? Very slowly and somewhat messy, that's how. I devoured half my tasty fries to free up space on my plate just in case I made a mess. Luckily, this burrito held itself together rather nicely. The burrito was super tasty but I do feel like maybe a chicken or pork version would've been better. I like beef but wasn't in the mood for it when I ate my burrito. That's on me though for not paying attention when ordering and accidentally getting beef. My dad loved his burrito and was able to put the whole thing down since he didn't eat breakfast. I had breakfast so I was only able to put down a little over half. My bottomless pit of a stomach isn't so bottomless now that I am almost 40 (a week shy of 39 during this visit). Overall, Taco Azteca lived up to the hype and was worth every bite. I really wanted to get some of the guac to go. My only warning is that the parking lot is shared and can be tight as well as the seats inside. This place serves better for carry-out if it's busy like it was when we were there.

This ties into the excellent service, as the food came out relatively quickly. The staff was friendly and engaged in conversation. One standout employee, Jose, continually checked to ensure that we had everything we needed and addressed any issues we had promptly. The ambience was clean, with staff wearing gloves while cooking. They were consistently cleaning, wiping down tables, and sweeping the floors. These are just a few aspects I look for when visiting a restaurant or food establishment.

First things first, I found the burrito was pretty good - barbacoa was 8/10. Everyone else (7 others) thought their food was okay - average of 7/10 across the board. This is what gives me hope. The food is decent and a little more attention to the meal, it would've been great. But where Ino's needs work is in the customer service, ambiance, and price. Honestly, the greeting, ordering, and delivery was just awkward. It wasn't remotely busy, but like a few waters took a long time, they didn't have avocados to make a guac without tomatoes - or at least that's what we were told - and even though the person ringing me up didn't catch that I ordered two fries (which is ok, not a biggie), it was the tone when I asked about them that unnerved me. Like, I don't want free fries or anything, but what's a basket of fries to feed the family of seven that just dropped as much as I just did for a return visit? Again, don't want free stuff, but the attitude meant I wasn't spending another dime on fries. This place has potential. When someone with a smile and an attentive attitude is engaging with customers, when they are stocked properly with avocados at a Mexican restaurant, and when the quality of meals matches the price tag, I'd love to come back. For now, we're grateful for the other places that do 'celiac friendly' well.
