This place is amazing. I visited 3 years ago and have not stopped thinking of it since. The food is absolutely amazing. Tuna carpaccio is 11/10. Super fresh and flavorful. Shrimp pasta was a very flavorful Alfredo with shrimp cooked to perfection. The oyster Rockefeller were amazing and my mom and I don't care for oysters at all. We ordered 2 orders! The wait staff is so attentive and sweet. Additionally, the ambiance was very lovely. Music curation was perfect and the sound and temperature were perfect- a note my mom wanted to me mention since she's very particular about both!
This little diamond in the rough offered the best casual seafood meal in the entire Cabo/SJD region. It was the final meal we chose on our last day in town, and we all agreed it was the surprise standout restaurant conveniently located in a little shopping center just outside of the hotel zone. There was surfing on the TV in this very spacious and open dining room - it had a very casual dining vibe, but the dishes were on par with places that look much fancier in and around town. Dad wasn't feeling great, but we convinced him to come out for the last night -- he was so glad he decided to come with us, and the food here brought him life! My favorite beverage of the entire trip was the coconut/horchata here. I've had great horchata before, and I love coconut, so it is no wonder I loved their combination of the two! The smoked tuna appetizer was also something that surprised us all - generous in portion and completely unique to anything else we've ever had. The seafood soup was akin to the flavor in a seafood pan roast and was generously full of fresh pieces of fish, shrimp, and octopus. I was very pleased with the Chilean Seabass mom and I both ordered. It was so fresh, flaky, and came in a garlic chili oil sauce that I sopped every bit of rice up with. The service here was great, and we made a reservation just to be on the safe side. It wasn't busy on a weeknight, but they are open pretty late - I imagine once word gets out, this place is going to be very busy! It is certainly worth the short trek over from where the hotels are. We walked back after a very satisfying meal. I cannot recommend this place enough. Had we discovered it earlier I would probably have eaten here every day.
I decided to venture outside the hotel I was staying at to enjoy some local cuisine. Located in a shopping plaza, La Marea is wonderful option. The prices are reasonable. The food, fantastic! The drinks, well-made! We only had seafood dishes and both the tuna and the Totoaba were fresh, well seasoned and cooked well! The portion sizes were appreciated too. You get chips and salsa on the house to start and it was delicious. Check-in on Yelp and the table gets ONE free glass of Santos cocktail, which is so refreshing! Unfortunately, only one person on the table can redeem the free cocktail. It is a casual dining spot so you don't have to overdress. It is worth trying if you are in the area.
I really enjoyed this restaurant! It was so much cheaper than those in town and had excellent food. It was a short walk up the street from where we stayed and wasn't busy at all. The octopus ajillo tacos were insanely good! The best I've had. My friends also got a large fillet of sea bass. The price for that was really good for the size. Would definitely come back again. Very friendly and safe location.

This place is cute upon arrival, a mural of a map along with a comfy tan leather couch and cute décor. I ordered the "Shipowner's Eggs" Scrambled eggs with green tomato cilantro sauce and tuna chorizo served with refried beans. It was delicious along with my free mezcal berry cocktail. My husband ordered the "Chilaquiles Del Diego" Crunchy baked tortilla strips, cooked in red sauce with cilantro, cream and panela cheese with pork beans made in house. He loved it so much he devoured every single bite. Thank you, Marilyn for a great recommendation!
We stopped by this place for lunch. It is in a little shopping center with some other restaurants. Immediately greeted upon entry. Staff was incredibly nice, and attentive. We ordered a couple drinks and browsed through the menu. My Cadillac margarita was just OK. We Decided to split the deep fried tuna and "Mexico's best nachos", which we added steak to. Food was a little slow, but not too bad. The view and ambiance made the wait worth it. They also serve super salty chips and a small scoop of pico while you wait. (More pico please). Food arrived. Nachos looked "saucy" and the fried tuna looked like bits of Spam. I was dying to try the tuna and found myself very underwhelmed. Dry. Chewy. Think it was just bits of fish that couldn't be used elsewhere, so they toss it in a fryer and call it an appetizer. The nachos? Well, they claim to have Mexico's best nachos. It's a good thing they didn't say worlds best, cuz every country would sue them. I guess you can say anything in mexico. The steak was delicious. No doubt. The guac was good too. But the whole plate was a glop of cheese underneath. They were good nachos, but I have had better in Mexico. Overall, this was 3.5 stars. But it just isn't 4 stars. I'd come back, but I'm not in a rush to.
I went here for breakfast, and the beef machaca was excellent. The portions of tortillas beans cheese meat and roasted peppers were perfect.
My wife and I found this spot many years ago while visiting San Jose Del Cabo and it is still there! Brought the family for breakfast this last trip and it was delicious. They also have a good selection of some local Tequila's which is a plus.
It's all about choices. Garlic octopus wow. Fried octopus fair. Big salads. Soup could have more zest. Great chips. The other pastas looked super. I thing they could've gone spicier but cater to tourists. They were clean. Also watched bartender inspect wine glasses before use! Don't see that much. Kudos.
We come to La Marea every time we visit Los Cabos and this is our forth time enjoying a great meal at this restaurant. The restaurant is modern, clean and air conditioned!! I always enjoy their excellent signature cocktail, Santos. My wife had the Seafood Pasta with Tomato sauce which had excellent flavor with very fresh and meaty shrimps and octopus. I had the Grilled Octopus which was slightly on the rubbery side for my taste, but it was still very flavorful. I will sure to visit La Marea again when I return to Los Cabos next time.

My favorite has to be the tuna tartare. This is definitely a must! Nothing is ever bad here and we have almost tried the entire menu. The seafood is incredibly fresh and the seasoning is extremely flavorful without being salty. I recommend getting the pepino juice as well! The flan was okay but not amazing. It wasn't to sweet which is always a plus. If you are ever traveling to Cabo make the trip to La Marea!! You will not be disappointed!

Came here on a Wednesday night at 830pm. We were the only people in the restaurant. The service as AMAZING. They were all sooo nice. It was 4 of us. Ordering was a little challenging not speaking Spanish very well but we managed. We ordered the Tuna carpaccio, the "LA MAREA "SPECIAL ceviche and a Caesar salad to start. All excellent. Then we each ordered tacos. Pastor, octopus, and shrimp. All was excellent. We also got mojitos which our server had never made before but she did a great job. All the workers were very friendly. Shout out to our server Joanne. This place was highly recommended by our concierge Edgar at the Hyatt. He raved over this place. We all enjoyed it. read more
Came here wanting seafood but didn't realize they served breakfast until 12pm... Which was my mistake, but apparently they didn't see most of their menu until 12:30. We ordered a few breakfast items and waited until 12:30 to order the things we wanted. I ordered the governor tacos and my friend ordered the seafood pasta. We also had the ceviche. It was okay. Everything I had here was fairly mid. The tacos were not my favorite... So much that I didn't even eat it. The server was nice but didn't speak English so I had trouble communicating with her (but not her fault since I'm the one in Mexico!) - so not as tourist friendly as some of the places in town center or by the resorts. read more

Great food and the service was good as well. Really wanted some authentic Mexican fare and some good seafood. Starter with the Blond Chile's stuffed with smoked Tuna which was great, then ordered the Garlic Octopus which was amazing. Though this restaurant isn't exactly in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, I would still say that it's worthy of a visit. Take note to use the yelp check in for a free cocktail that has mezcal and tamarind which may sound like an odd combination but is actually very good. To start we ordered the ceviche. First, the portions. WOW it is gigantic. And yes, it's super fresh and delicious with a generous amount of avocado and the works. For our entrees I had the octopus with garlic and my friend had the sesame crusted tuna. Both of them were super good and I can't say anything bad about either of them. So why four instead of five stars? Simply because of the price point- it was a little hefty but I would still say La Marea is worthy of a try if you happen to be in that area of Cabo. read more

This spot is AWESOME! The atmosphere is so cool and modern. So luxurious. The attention to detail on everything is amazing. We went with s group of 7 and we ended up sharing everything family style, which I don't believe is how they expect the food to be served, but they did served it just like we asked! We started with some sushi rolls, nigiri, the lobster flat bread, and the burrata. Then we shared the rib eye and they sliced it up for us to share with the lobster risotto and asparagus. It was absolutely perfect! If you're looking for a great dinner with a cool atmosphere, go to Marea. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars because I absolutely love their tuna tartar and tajin tortilla chips! They also have beautiful decor and huge tvs. They also make cucumber margaritas which was refreshing and unique from any other place we went to during our trip. The service was quick and friendly. The tortilla chips were crazily addicting especially with their touch of tajin sprinkled all over. We wanted to pack some to go! Their tuna tartar ceviche was to die for! We cleaned the plate! The tuna was fresh and the mango with avocado complimented it very well. Their fish tacos weren't the best we've had. They were dry and they put so many fish fillets, it was hard to eat as a street taco. Nonetheless, I would love to come back here just for their tortilla chips, tuna tartar, and their cucumber margaritas! read more

Amazing dinner. The octopus appetizer was so good even our kids enjoyed it. The tuna tartar was delicious. My wife ordered the Camarones a la Diabla & I ordered the Camarones en Ajo. We traded dishes because my wife was not Mexican enough to handle the heat, lol. I loved both dishes. The kids loved the octopus & shrimp pasta. My oldest son had the sliced tuna plate & said it was the best he's had. The cocktails were delicious & strong... Tamarindo Margarita was awesome. We will be back for sure. read more
