Rude staff, a condescending manager, and a store that smells like mildew -- hard pass. I was quietly on my phone while browsing and got snapped at me, demanding I end my call before they would help me. when I asked why, the manager told me being on my phone in a store is "rude"... Zero customer service skills between the two of them. I would rather spend my money where I am respected. On top of the attitude, the place is musty and damp the moment you walk in, which makes you question the condition of what they're actually selling. Plenty of other thrift stores nearby that treat customers like human beings -- go there instead. I won't be back. read more

Cute little shop on the corner. It has mostly clothing with a small section of kitchen wares, toys, and miscellaneous items. Prices were okay. Service seemed pleasant. Not a big selection as it is a small store. read more

I love this store. They have beautiful clothing that are name brands. Lauren, Chico, Nike, adidas and Jones New York. Some items are new with tags !!! Rare and unique jewelry. A lot of Victoria's Secret items. Even VS bra's in new condition. And a lot of house-wares and collectables. I also donate here when I clean out my closet !!!! A win win for all !!! $ read more

La Mesa thrift shop is small but their prices are very reasonable. Goodwill & other thrift stores in San Diego have ridiculously increased their pricing to that of retail and ebay prices. This thrift shop may not have everything you are looking for but they have some good deals on clothes and books. It is definitely worth a look!! read more

First: to address the previous reviews, while it is not an excuse, none of the staff are paid, They are all volunteers and many have worked there for decades. This is definitely one of those places where you can find hidden gems. Because the staff are elderly and not on the internet you might even find some rare Pyrex or vintage clothing items undervalued. This shop is truly a non-profit. All proceeds go to benefit the people of La Mesa. Give it a look. read more

This is a very clean, organized little Thrift Store at 3rd and Lemon in La Mesa. It is run but a bunch of senior citizen ladies and they seem to only sell stuff in really good condition. I have bought several items here over the years and have never had a problem with anything. They are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive thrift shop but I like to support. them I would go there more often except they close at 3pm and sometimes I don't even leave to run errands till after that. Whenever I do get out the door in time and think of them I try to stop by and see what's new. They only take cash the last I knew. read more

The first thrift store in SanDiego County. Started on a woman's front porch to help the poor. Employees are all volunteers. Proceeds stay in the community. All merchandise is donated. Always some gems. Great housewares, jeans, luggage, shoes etc. some men's items as well as infant and youth clothing. The toy selection is terrific. Records from time to time. Giving it 4 stars because of all the good they do. If you are a small size check out the dollar rack out front. Often brand new jeans/pants out there. read more

Been here a couple of times until I finally found a worthy purchase! The store is very organized and there's so many things to sort through. There's some big name brands that are reasonably priced too. I even managed to score a vintage Dooney and Bourke bag for $37!! What a steal! I was so ecstatic! This shop is small, only 3 small circle racks of clothes and a small selection of knick knacks and home goods. Meh mostly elderly ladies clothes, and some outdated 80s wind breakers. They do have a drop off box for donations which is nice because most shops do not have this. I usually donate to thrift koral but they close so early, so the past few times I have used the drop off box to donate. Maybe now they will have a better selection of clothes ;) read more

Oh my goodness, everyone! This place is wonderful. Just to address the negative reactions first, yes! The store only accepts cash and closes early. Get over it!!! It's a thrift shop. You get great quality clothes for next-to-nothing prices. The general clothes selection is dedicated to older women, but don't be fooled. If you really take your time and look, you will find unbelievable amounts of young, modern clothes and most items are under $5 dollars. I went there to update my wardobe to business causal, and I found about 6 chic blazers/jackets, 1 summer dress, 3 shirts, and two pairs of cute shoes (heels and boots) for less than $50 bucks. Jackpot! Also, the staff are so friendly. Just ask, and they are happy to assist you. read more

This place had a great selection of Halloween stuff and all of it was half off of the marked prices. The women who work in their little bit older and they're very sweet and they're very helpful. They were very nice even though I brought my four children in which I know can be frustrating for some store owners but they were very great with my kids. They actually helps my kids pick some things out and I had a very pleasant experience I definitely will be going back. read more

I don't have a high expectation of "thrift shops", but when trying to get as much bang for my buck to help a low income sibling out, I am willing to do anything. That said, I am extremely grossed out at this place and at least one of the women who work there. The first thing I experience when walking through the store is the noxious fumes that gag me. It being a thrift store, it didn't surprise me. As I was looking through the clothing rack, I heard a woman sternly informing a patron, "No, you have to give me money." Thinking that the guy was arguing with her, since I couldn't hear him speak, but I could hear her loudly trying to get him to pay for whatever it is he had given her, I ignored it. As I moved closer, I over heard a female say, "Oh. Sorry. My brother is autistic." Rather than say, "Oh, sorry for being so rude." The woman turns to the sister and says, "Well. You need to pay for this because I already rung it up." Clearly the brother/sister/family were not done with their shopping, but the woman insisted that clearing out the transaction was far to complicated. The sister pulls out her card to pay for the 4 Veggie Tales movies that he wanted and the woman snaps at her, "Cash only." The girl calls for her mom to get some cash, but that was enough for me. I figure that since the sister can remain so classy in this interaction, I can too. But inside I was screaming up a storm about the lack of empathy to the younger (19-25 brother). I put back the things that I was going to get for MY brother and immediately came to inform you all, that while you might not have high expectations of thrift stores, this one is definitely not somewhere you want to take children, adults with mental illnesses, or strollers....which I saw on the door walking out. read more

Friendly staff, not a ton of the stuff I am usually in a thrift store for (cameras/electronics/records), but they did have a few items we grabbed and had great prices on what was there. Nice place to check out when you in the area for a nice afternoon hanging out or driven by deals. read more

Probably one of the worst thrift shop experiences I've ever had. The customer service was ATROCIOUS! But hey, every worker has a bad day every now and then, so if it was just the poor customer service, I would have been more understanding. However, after looking through several OVER PRICED items, I decided on purchasing a small book of collectibles from there. The price tag said $10.00 and I was OK with paying that. Then the lady looks at the book, peels off the sticker, and says to me "That's not the right price, I'll give it to you for $95." I couldn't help but chuckle at this poor excuse of a thrift shop, and I left. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

In my attempt of donating an unwanted item, as I came here first ---- for the reason to ask if LM Thrift Shop be interested in the item. But I had no chance to ask. Because the old female, supposedly the owner -- as we never spoke a word to each other: she immediately pre-judged me as a specific solicitation. In that she not wanted me there (as I was reading from her face.) Not wanting me, because of my body profile, etc, (biggotry) A 'thrift shop' is expected to accept all kinds of people. I was reading her face: showing that she not wanting me in her business. That be okay with me; there be other sources that I can offer my unwanted item/s to. Businesses that have tooo much money simply can afford to lose their customers. Sending the(ir) customers elsewhere. read more

On a whim I decided to head off the main street to see what exists south of downtown La Mesa, and found this little thrift store off lemon avenue. It was a fun store to browse and did see a lot of vintage Christmas decor still in packaging. There was also an ok selection of clothes there, but not much. Lots of decent housewares, craft supplies, framed pictures, the sort of thing you'd expect of a Thrift store. It was a small shop with an expected amount of disorganization. While sections were organized well, due to space they had to be spread throughout the store, unlike at Salvation Army or Goodwill where they have designated sections for everything. The older women working the store seemed pleasant but offered up no assistance, not that it was expected or anything as I do like to browse, but would have been appreciated. They had a lot of higher quality items going for very non-thrift prices but they did have a lot of good deals spread throughout. It was a nice little treasure hunt indeed. Before walking in check out the cheap racks of clothes they place out front, sometimes you find a goodie. Their hours are also extremely limited. If they were open until 5 or so and on Sunday they'd make some decent money as the meters are off on Sundays and its free parking everywhere. But they do accept donations and its cash only. Be prepared to bring more than $20 cash here, smaller bills the better. They did have a small lot behind them for parking as well thats alley side. read more
