I hadn't been, but looked like it would be a good place based on the description and reviews. My aunt loved it, and boasted about her amazing finds! Great pieces and and prices. A few weeks later for Mother's Day, my mom gifted me the cutest bag that she had picked up on that visit with her sister. And she talked about Trish like she was a friend. I had the rest of the day to myself, so decided to go check it out for myself. And oh my goodness, was I thrilled that I did! I found two jackets (one vintage, and the other the cutest designer puffer), a handful of tops (casual and sporty), a romper, earrings and more! The service was outstanding. She was kind, fun, and not pushy at all. I could see why my mom spoke of her so highly. We talked trends and had a few laughs while I shopped and tried things on. Omg, I am a person who likes to shop and make decisions without the help of salespeople... this is the first time ever the woman running the store made me feel this way about that. She is amazing. So kind and warm, zero pressure, she makes you feel like this is already your closet. She will also let you wander by yourself too. I was looking for a dress for my birthday, and just by seeing what I was choosing, she went around the store and brought me 5 more choices that I loved! Like a personal shopper/stylist. She delights in seeing them on and she gets to know each piece intimately!! I ultimately chose one for $30, and it's just so cheap to pay for an experience like that. A couple days ago, a friend recommended Looks Better On Me and I filed it away in my brain. Well, yesterday I was meeting someone @ Terra restaurant nearby, and had some extra time beforehand, so I decided to stop and check it out ... I was very pleasantly surprised. Great quality and reasonable prices. I'm not fond of shopping for used clothing. I don't mind acquiring used clothing, but *shopping* for it is usually a chore. But this was a different experience. The store has a boutique feel - everything was clean and well organized, and not cluttery at all. Lots of windows makes the interior bright and cheery. The owner Trish was super friendly and not pushy at all. Another customer had a few blouses she was contemplating buying, and she was asking Trish's advice ... Trish said about a couple items "I'd have to see them on you first". I bought a pair of Levi 517's in near perfect condition for $8! And as a bonus the length is perfect so I don't have to have them hemmed. Buying them slightly used is better than new since I *know* they fit and don't have to worry about shrinkage. Cute little consignment store. Located in the same plaza as DZ Akins, the parking lot gets busy but people are constantly coming in and out so it won't take long to find a spot. They had a great Labor Day Sale going on this weekend. They had some racks outside their store with $2 items. The two ladies who worked there were very nice and friendly and great about informing customers of the daily promotion. They have several high-end items in glass cases. The had some great deals going on depending on the color of the price tags. I like how they had a good amount of inventory but not overwhelming. It makes it easier to comb through all the racks. read more

Found LBOM on accident on my way to a dr apt. The place is packed with tons of clothes and even had a few racks outside. The vibe of this place is definitely older, but they did still have a few fun younger pieces and even a few vintage pieces. Even though they weren't buying they looked at the pieces I brought in and when I picked out a few pieces took a few in exchange for credit. I went in looking for a dress for a wedding and was very politely greeted upon entering! I told them why I was there, how I don't like shopping or even know what exactly I was looking for. A younger girl, who was in training, helped lead me to the section where she thought I'd be able to find something. She did in fact help me with several different choices, styles, colors, etc. At this time the owner handed me some selections too, said just take your time, try things on and we'll give you our honest opinion...I told them what my self conscious concerns were. They were respectful, honest and so extremely helpful! They helped find accessories for a couple outfits so I could get a better idea of how it could look. I ended up buying 3 dresses, 2 sweaters and a pair of shoes! Brand named outfits, great condition and very reasonably priced! They asked if I was military or a student for additional discounts. I highly recommend this place for the quality of clothes and accessories, the selection, price and most importantly, the quality of service! Parking is a bit tough as it's in a small complex with a well known restaurant but don't let that deter you from stopping in! Definitely worth the 20 minute drive for me! read more

I'm always greeted warmly, even though I never bought anything. Until last week, that is! I found two summer tops and a summer suit, plus a semi-formal dress, all for less than $50! Trish's selection of consignment items is nice for this 50-year old with moderate taste in clothing. No hoochie-mama club-wear here. She has some lovely formal and dresses if you need something special for a military ball, prom, or summer wedding. Her shoe selection is great too; it's a pity that I never have any occasion to wear heels or I'd have bought several pairs. I love this place!! My husband is originally from la Mesa and we now live in Oregon. We try to visit at least once a year. About five years ago we were on a visit to DZ Akins (my husbands favorite Jewish deli) and we noticed "looks better on me" across the parking lot. We decided to check it out. I am so glad we did! This place is a treasure trove of high end gently used designer clothing. I found a beautiful white leather Harley Davidson jacket that would easily sell for $500 or more for a very low price!! Every time I wear it gets compliments. I also found several other pieces by steve madden, jimmy choo, guess, dooney & burk and many other brands of clothing, hand bags and shoes Needless to say everytime we come back to San Diego this is a required stop for me as is DZ Akins for my husband. They always have an excellent selection and the prices are unbelievable. The lovely lady who owns the shop is super helpful and very friendly and patient.we love her. If you're ever in San Diego.
