What a gem I'm already excited to come back!! We were out and about and randomly decided to stop in to check out the Consignment Shack and WOW! They house "East County Vinyl" inside which has such an extensive collection of both new and used vinyls that are all priced SO well - we walked out with 5 used vinyls under $30, SCORE (two of them were priced at just $2)! We've already tried playing all 5 of them and they were in pristine condition. Walked into the back and they have a really nice assortment of furniture, art, books, a small rack of clothing, vintage decor and collection pieces alike, all of which were priced very well!! Even though the clothing rack was small, I found this really cool Padres shirt :) The gentleman working today was also very kind and helpful, he even offered to hold the vinyls we found up at the register so we could continue perusing around the store. The consignment and vintage market, especially in San Diego, marks up prices but the Consignment Shack makes it affordable for all! Can't wait to come back!!! read more

This was a really cool store. I was in the area and decided to stop by. Very glad I did. They have an extremely large vinyl area. It felt like the old school days browsing through old records and finding great deals... unlike other stores where they overcharge. The owner was sweet and very welcoming which was appreciated. I was able to find a few vinyls to add to my slow growing collection. The other side was more of the consignment area, offering a variety of items, from comic books, to vintage Barbie's, to furniture and more. When I make it back to this area, I will definitely stop by again. read more

Awesome place for Vinyl. We spent most of the visit up front looking for albums. The owner was super nice and helpful. We felt like old friends as soon as we walked in. The value for the albums is pretty normal. You can find some deals on certain albums. The rest of the shop has some cool SUP and random thrift shop looking items. Glad I stopped in. This spot has an excellent selection of vinyl records (an entire room dedicated), unfinished furniture (anarondok chairs and benches) and kitsch items. I came across this adorable sake set with a barrel and six glasses, all reminiscent of a German beer stein. Quite unique. It's fairly small overall -- just a few rooms and tightly packed. But they do pack in what they offer. You should plan to take your time to carefully browse. There is a diverse selection of furniture, hand bags, kitchenware, instruments, DVD and VHS (yes, VHS!) and collectables. Vintage and new. Great spot for gift spotting and for home decor. Great place to find some really cool furniture stuff and other Knick knacks you may find interesting. Went there looking for an entertainment center and left with a few more things. They have records too! Check them out and support local businesses. Chill and friendly atmosphere there you can go and just flip thru their LP and 45 record collection for sale she has some good ones. Highly recommended! read more

I came to hopefully sell some records. The lady at the counter asked my asking price and afterwords she questioned if I stole them. Said she didn't need my parents to come to beat her ass. I'm a Latino male that looks like I'm 15 but I'm 21 so yeaaa that's about the whiteness of the people you're going to deal with here. Such a shame too. I used to buy a lot of records here. I love the selections in this place. It was fun to shop there. That's why I give this place two stars instead of one. very unique. Unfortunately, customer service made the experience awkward on several occasions. Both times, the woman inserted herself into a private conversation I was having with my significant other. The first time, I was trying to get him out the door and she says, it doesn't look like he's leaving, does it? Then today, I was waiting in the car for him. I called him several times, and one of the customer service people says to him, she sure is impatient, isn't she? I don't know, I guess she was trying to be friendly or funny, and both of us are very friendly people. That's why I gave her the benefit of the doubt the first time. But it's just inappropriate and nosy. Is she trying to start a fight between us? It was just awkward both times. I always feel like we're being eaves-dropped on in there. If they keep their comments to themselves, and just stick to being friendly, it might be a really nice place to shop, but neither my significant other or I feel comfortable in there anymore. read more

I didn't actually buy anything here, since I was looking for someplace else. But I found a genial group of women hanging out for what looked like a regular gathering and when I asked for directions, the (I assume) owner walked me outside to point me the right way, but first said, "Look at that Moon," which was large in front of us, and reminded me there'd be an eclipse the next night. That's my kind of person: shows you how to get where you're headed, but makes sure you don't miss the Moon. So if you're heading into La Mesa, stop off at the Consignment Shack. I LOVE this place. Kelly is awesome- friendly and funny.. And makes the experience enjoyable. She is not even a tiny bit pushy and does not try to up sell. Both times I've been there I told her what I was looking for (something to use as a tv stand and a colored accent piece) and my price range. She immediately showed me around the store and what items she thought would be best for me and then left me to continue to look around and decide what I want. She always helps me bring my stuff to the car and fit it in- now that's customer service! The store is beautiful also, nicely decorated with their items for sell. (Let's face it- most consignment places look like 20 people emptied out their old storage units and shoved it all into one small store). Overall, I love coming here even if it's just to look around (there isn't any judgment or dirty looks for not purchasing coming from Kelly). read more

I used to live by this place but I never saw it then. I checked it out today . It was big. They had so much stuff. They have alot of furniture so this is a great thrift store for that. It's a nice place but I think alot of the furniture is a bit pricey. Great place to check out for vintage items though. Parking is next to a taco shop. Great little find! I was just driving by the other day and stumbled upon this newly-opened gem. Lots of great and unique furniture pieces and interesting vintage finds. My friend and I restore old furniture (ReFab Furniture) and turn them into bar stations and we are always hunting for the next project so this place is great! I just met my NEW BFF TODAY- shhhhh... don't tell her but we're moving in when she closes up shop tonight. I mean there is simply no reason why you wouldn't - the only thing this place is missing is a reasonably priced kitchen sink (oh wait... I'm sure it's in there too!). But seriously - this place is super cool, fun, and the prices... sheesh... very reasonable. I noticed another "Yelper" wrote "way overpriced" - you must have missed your turn on the way to Goodwill. I just left with a Limoges wash basin (sans pitcher) for .... well I can't tell you but..... I know what its worth and I know what I paid... and someone made off like a bandit ;)... several diecast Tonka trucks for my PeeWee, an antique blown-glass Japanese fishing buoy for my other not-so-PeeWee, and a "Bob the Builder" movie (thrown in for the low cost of love). Although I don't live around the corner- will it be worth a trip back??? HECK YEAH... if for no other reason than to hang out on the sofa in the front room for the day to see what new goodies comes in (that I have to have or I'll simply die). read more

This place was a great find! I went looking for lamps and there was a large selection at very reasonable prices. I ended up buying 3 lamps and a bunch of knick knacks for $16 ! They do discounts on items that have been there more than a month. I'll be coming back here again for sure. read more

I love this place. With the onset of the internet I no longer comb through thrift stores for obscure books I'm looking for or ravens/crows for my collection. Now, when I get a commission check and feel like splurging small-ly on non-needed items, I come here and buy random things that strike my fancy. My favorite dish set was bought here. I got a glass 'bottle" shaped like a male torso full of purple sand (my fav purchase so far and too bad I can't post a pic :-) it's 'unique'). I got a cool chair for my son's apartment - he's in a wheelchair so already has a seat but his guests were complaining..... etc etc! Got a beautiful rocking chair for my nursery here, the price was more than fair and the customer service was incredible. The woman working was very attentive and proactively loaded the chair in my car for me (I'm six months pregnant). She was also kind and patient when dealing with unexpected behavior from the foot traffic outside. I will definitely be coming back! read more
