    MANGONADA
    Alexis B.

Ice cream. Paletas. And a wonderful thing called a Mangonada. We just moved to Nashville - about a mile from Nolensville Road - and so we've been exploring some of the food options in that area! And La Michoacana Golden was a treat! My fiance tried some of the chocolate flan ice cream (which he liked) and an orea paleta (which he loved). They have a TON of flavors of ice cream - from your more sorbet options (mango, tamarind) to creamy options (rum and raisin, cheesecake) to very unique options that I can't wait to try (tequila?)! They have a great variety of paleta options as well! And I tried a Mangonada - layers of sorbet, chamoy sauce, chili powder, and fresh squeezed lemon juice. And a tamarind candy on top. I got a medium - which allows you to choose three flavors of sorbet; I went with mango, pineapple, and tamarind. There were four or five other flavors as well (including guava, which I wanted, but wasn't quite frozen enough yet). Next time I'm doing guava and mango. Chamoy sauce is a pickled fruit sauce spiced with chiles, fyi. It was great - sweet, sour, spicy, salty. And it reminded me of home - I just moved to Nashville from Texas and I'm teensy bit homesick for somethings (many of which I'm finding on Nolensville Road). La Michoacana Golden is a family spot - while we were there, several moms and kids came in for paletas or ice cream. The women behind the counter were friendly, and the service was fast! The menu is in Spanish and English. And there is plenty of seating, and a ton of parking in the lot in front of the shopping center. I can tell that La Michoacana Golden is going to be a treat throughout the hot Tennessee summer! I can't imagine I'll make it longer than a week before going back!

Don't be fooled by the bland looking outside of this store. When you go inside, there is a colorful rainbow of images of ice cream/paletas on the counters and on the walls next to the tables. They offer fruit-based and creamy-based paletas (Mexican popsicles) that are works of art. It is the first thing you can see in the freezers when you walk in. The way the pieces of fruit were laid out in some of the popsicles stood out to me and showed that the employees really value presentation of their products. La Michoacana Golden also sells various Mexican drinks and food items, but my parents and I primarily came here for the ice cream! The employees didn't mind letting my parents and me try multiple flavors of ice cream. They not only have typical flavors you can find at other ice cream shops, but more exotic flavors worth a taste such as mamey or gansito. In their oreo ice cream and ice creams with cakes, there was A LOT of oreos and cake pieces present. This place does not skimp out on giving you bang for your buck. I got gansito. The ice cream was yellow and tasted kind of like a buttery cream. My favorite part of it was the pieces of chocolate covered vanilla cake and swirls of berry spread throughout. This added a nice spongy texture to the smooth ice cream. I subtracted 1 star from this review bc there were 3 employees present when we walked in, but no one said hi or asked us if we wanted to try ice cream until 2 minutes later. We were the only ones in at the time. Additionally the gansito ice cream, while delicious, was a little too sweet for my palate. Lastly, my mom's coconut ice cream was kind of melting when it was scooped out, so it was too soft.

Perfect way to balance out the Nashville heat (from both the weather and allll zee hot chicken)! When you first walk into the large storefront, you're welcomed with a whole array of popsicles, ice cream, sorbet, and horchata. I had mangonada for the first time here and am adamant to include this in my normal diet. It was the perfect blend of sweet, salty, spicy, and sour. And it's good for you, right? Can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Nashville!

Best mangonadas! Available in a cup or popsicle form. I like their banana+nutella popsicles too. There's a wide variety of ice cream flavors including some tropical fruit flavors. Don't know what flavor you will like or want? No worries! They offer samples. You can taste all the flavors you like before making the purchase. The Guava has fruit chunks in it! Guanabana/Soursop & Mamey are a few other tropical fruits they have available. Don't want a scoop? They have popsicles too. Want the popsicles dipped in chocolate? Sure thing! They have salty snacks too! Hot Cheetos with nacho cheese mixed in it (Cheetos con Queso). Dorilocos (Nacho Doritos with avocado+more) and Elotes (corn on the cob with toppings) are just a few to be named. This place is AMAZING! Coming from LA, I've missed the small Mexican fruit stands that you can find throughout the city. Popsicles, ice cream, yogurt drinks, cut fruit - everything looked amazing. We had a fruit/yogurt parfait that was incredible, and the sorbet with chile sauce. Selection is giant and, and prices aren't cheap, but definitely reasonable. I can't wait to come back and try new things!

This place took my breath AWAY!!! One of the best ice creams I have ever had. There are 50+ flavors of ice cream sticks to choose from and all of them looked so delicious. Parking is plentiful and they're about $4 a piece. I will definitely be returning!

    Vaso de elote
    Leslie R.

I came here on a Sunday around 2 pm think I was going to be full of people. It was empty. I ordered a mangonada, pistachio ice cream, and a vaso de elote. The man that took our order was nice. The taste though .... I was not the best to be honest it taste like leftovers to be honest. The ice cream tasted like when you leave ice in your fridge without a lid on it it just tasted not good. The elote was not good ether it tasted like if they put some lime in the corn and was dry. I don't know if it was that today was not their day. The tables were also dirty it wasn't anything to bad. I'll probably go next time to see if it better.

Mango con chile paletas. Delicious anytime of year. Except Tuesday's when they are closed

So glad to see more places like this opening up in Nashville. So many flavors and snacks, and almost anything con chile.

Love it! Coming back!!!!! Great service and variety!

Their ice creams are creamy and naturally flavored. I have tried the Brambleberry Crunch, which is one of my favorites. Their Darkest Chocolate ice cream is also delicious and decadent. But the Hibiscus Chili was the most underrated flavor. I think it deserves a lot more hype. The ice cream shop at this location can get very busy, but the service is extremely quick. The team at Jeni's is always patient with me, even when I am confused with all their range of flavors. I particularly love how the shop smells of baked waffle cones.

The crew behind the counter operates with the high-speed efficiency of a pit crew, yet somehow maintains the absolute patience of saints while you undergo an existential crisis deciding on flavors. My personal blueprint for success was all about contrast. I engineered a double-scoop masterpiece: a heavy, deeply decadent, unapologetic chocolate base, perfectly countered by a lighter, delicate second scoop to balance the universe. It was an elite flavor pivot. Delicious doesn't even cover it. Meanwhile, my wife absolutely devoured her fruit-forward flavors with a speed that felt slightly competitive. Total sensory overload in the best way possible. I'm giving this place a flawless five stars, mostly because I have to, but also because I am currently stalking the freezer aisle of my local Publix like a person possessed, trying to hunt down pints to replicate this high until I can get back to Nashville. Do your tastebuds a favor. Just get in line.

Should have eaten upstairs. The wait for ordering was not long which is a plus. However I feel their ordering system could be a little more streamlined, there are a lot of clicks for each item. I am used to SS in Chicago and it's the same there too. I ordered nothing crazy, a cheeseburger with added pickles and some fries, and an Arnold Palmer (50/50 lemonade and tea). We waited at our table and eventually got the text our food was ready but it took over 10 minutes after that to come out. At one point they tried to bring us someone else's food and they seemed very confused about it when we said that wasn't my order. I confirmed before we left that we didn't make a mistake while ordering so it wasn't something we did. When the food did come out it had clearly been sitting for some time. The bun had not been fully cut in half and this was not even visible inside the wrapping. It was crumpled up in a cold soggy mess at the bottom of the wrapping and was inedible. I essentially ate a naked burger. The cheese had solidified and was not at all melted showing how long the food was sitting. The fries were thankfully not cold but lukewarm at best. And to top it off my drink was incorrect, it tasted and looked like strawberry lemonade. I ended up throwing much of the meal in the trash. The person delivering the food should have noticed this was not up to par and sent it back. The cleanliness was also not up to the standard I expect at SS but considering their location and time of day I would give them a pass. Would not recommend coming here after hours.
