This is a small grocery store with a lot of South American products to be found! There is a huge butcher in the back with a variety of meats that looked to be in good shape and priced very reasonably. This appeared to be a top notch meat market and it was very clean! The seafood selection was a little odd by having random produce and I think a can of beer in the cooler on top of the product, I don't know what that was about. The prices were mostly cheap and the selection was great with nuts, sweets and legumes to choose from, as well as peppers if your palate can handle it! You'll find your candies and Jarritos here too. The produce looked good, especially the veggies, and it was interesting to see aloe vera and cactus (nopal) sold here. We got tamarind and mangoes and were pleased with both. For a smaller selection, I was fairly impressed with how fresh it seemed. Though I didn't see a bakery per se, there are two large cabinets of baked goods and pan dulce. It appears these are made fresh daily as I saw the cabinets being filled from trays of fresh made bread and sweets in the morning. This was great to see and I keep eyeing them, but haven't tried them yet. Part of me feels like I would be cheating on Lucy's Bakery, but I must say they are tempting! There are two registers up front by the entrance that seem to stay quite busy in the afternoon. There was only one manned when we visited in the morning. All product is checked out here and if you are interested in the taqueria you actually have to place your order at the register, get a ticket and take it to the taqueria- a bit confusing! The taqueria is up front and to the left when you enter. We tried them both on Saturday morning and on Sunday afternoon, and to be honest, they seem a bit inconsistent. They also seemed overpriced. That's okay, it's just an offering of the store, as opposed to it's own destination. The tacos are $1.99 each and they don't charge differently for corn or flour, which is actually quite nice. In the morning we got a fajita and potato which seemed to have shredded asada mixed in. The potato was cooked well and tasted good. The fajita was extremely chewy and not very flavorful, I wouldn't order it again. The carnitas were greasy and a bit chewy, but there was a lot of good flavor and it was the best one I tasted. They were generously filled though, which is an important note to the price point. They came plain and there is a salsa bar with cilantro, limes, several salsas, onions, etc. to dress your tacos yourself. We got the pupusas for $2.50 and out of a total of 4, they were cooked 3 different ways. The first visit was great and different than others we have tried. They only had cheese and were fried, quite good! The second visit we got a burnt one and an undercooked one. What a disappointment and certainly overpriced for what we got. We will be sticking with Guatelinda Café for our future pupusa cravings. The grocery store was varied and had some fantastic deals. We did find some imported coffee that was expired, but that was the only product we found that was. There was a variety of Agua Fresca that was clearly made from scratch that was self service. They weren't labeled, so I'm not positive of the exact offerings. Just another thing no one else in town has! You really need to know your Spanish to shop here. Though some signs have an English translation below, don't count on it. Most items weren't even labeled or priced in the store, the coolers or the taqueria. The exception is the meat market seemed to have consistent signs with the product and price on it. Very few employees speak English so be prepared. The people were nice and were actively cleaning between customers. This place is definitly worth checking out!

If i were honest, there could have been more lengua in my tacos. The burrito and street tacos are good. The fajita beef quesadilla was VERY greasy! Hot salsa is indeed hot. Very good. The nopales are chopped with oregano....that was surprising. Not a fan. The meat is semi-reasonably priced. Not inexpensive like i hoped. Not competative with Winco. Winco is 1/2 the price for chicken breast.

I've only been on Saturdays so far. One visit was pretty busy, but the service was still fast and efficient. The other time, it was much quieter, and we were served almost immediately. Either way, the staff has been consistently friendly and the experience smooth. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Whether you're in a rush or planning to sit and savor your meal, Laguna hits the mark. I'm already looking forward to going back!

My husband and I finally got to visit Wise Choice Custom Meats today! We were super excited to find…read morethis local meat market, as we normally order through Porter Road and have to wait on shipping for weeks sometimes. This is a game changer :D There are freezers full of delicious frozen offerings, fries, jalepeno taters, fried pickles, etc, and we grabbed a few to try. Also, there is a wall of quite the selection of local honey, jams, etc. BUT the real gem, the raw meat counter was chock-full of incredible cuts and varieties of meats! We decided to try to the cordon bleu chicken and brisket poppers this trip, as well as an 18 pound brisket, YUM! The employees were ready to help with any questions and even handed us a basket when our hands started to get too full. So grateful! I will note for future review readers, there is about a 4% card charge. Apparently there are signs that I missed while I was busy bouncing my eyes from product to product, so I ended up having to call once I got home about why the receipt showed a much high price than the label on the meats. So, the price label on the products is the cash price, totally understandable! In conclusion, Wise Choice exceeded our expectations on meat selection, and they even have Diet Dr Pepper and Topo Chico (I didn't have to run to Walmart for sodas! Woohoo!). Thanks team!!
