Our first time here while driving through Denton, Texas. A quaint and eclectic place with inside and outside dining. The establishment was clean and cozy. We ordered their St. Louis Style Ribs, Brisket, Pork Rib Tips and Original Sausage. Our sides were their Smoked Mac & Cheese, Cranberry Walnut Slaw, and Southern Green Beans. The meats were cooked very well and tender, they had a nice Smokey flavor and rub. We favored their JP BBQ sauce over our meats - it was on the sweeter side with a good "tang" to it. The Southern Green Beans were average and not overly salted. I really like the slaw that had a sprinkle of cranberries and walnuts in it - very different but it worked! The Smoked Mac & Cheese had a nice flavor to it, nice and cheesy with just the right hint of smoke. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, the service, and the ambiance. Pretty small bbq restaurant, parking is limited and seating inside is limited. They have a few tables split between the front of the building and the back of the building. We ordered pulled pork and smoked turkey and potato salad. The pulled pork was decent but I've had better even in Denton. The smoked turkey had very small hint of smoke. I personally like it with more flavor. They did give a generous serving of the food. The potato salad was really good though. It was by far the best of the meal. read more

Missing a sauce was the only problem I've ever had here! Get the Dino ribs on Saturday while they last! I wasn't able to score a pic of the food since it all went so fast (my teenager wasn't about to wait for dad's photoshoot and the wife doubled down on GET TO EATING)! But when I say everything was just what we needed, I don't say that lightly. They had run out of a few items by the time of evening we went in, but even still they did not disappoint! It's important for me to have a go-to bbq spot that doesn't use Hickory thanks to an adult allergy I was cursed with a couple years ago! The inside is small but you don't need to be in there long anyways. It's run by a great group of adults and teens that genuinely give a hoot about the food and your experience. Go and get it! I've been driving past this place for years and always say I was gonna try it. Well me and the Hubbs finally decided ti try it out. You can order inside or out. There is I think one table and a bar style table with tall chairs that faces out the back window. It smells amazing, the bbq smell slaps you across the face when you open the door. We both ordered the Turkey Palooza Sandwich and two drinks. Be prepared it is expensive.. but good golly it's soooo goood! The meat just falls apart and melts in your mouth. There are I believe 3 different sauces you can choose from and we tried them all.. all were good. Just be prepared that the prices are high.. but you get hogh quality meat with really good flavor! This small counter service bbq joint is a great place, north of the square in Denton on Locust St. Don't drive by it! Juicy, smokey, flavorful brisket that melts in your mouth. Habanero sausage that isn't too hot but packed with flavor. Sides like your mama made, all of them are good. Get here on Fridays and Saturdays for a huge beef rib! The seating is a bit limited, especially if you want to sit inside, but the outside is nice. There is a huge mural on the wall to check out and may lead to some interesting conversations. I see a lot of orders to go as well. The Juicy Pig serves up some delicious BBQ and is my place to go when I want to cure that craving. read more
