Absolutely delicious. The first time I tried this place many years ago and it was all about the Rum Raisin. They weren't stingy with the gum so my mother always gave me a side eye unless I gave her more of mine. But since 2020 we have visiting the park up the street or just walking more and every so often find ourselves in front of this place. Now it's Rum Raisin, Pistachio, Coconut, or the Chongo ice cream. Every single one of them delicious and creamy. Service has always been nice and fairly quick. Have some patience when you see a line. That line is normally what causes others to slow down on Congress to get a scoop or two. Just laugh at yourself when you see 10 other people behind you and others playing tetras to park in the small lot. They keep adding other items to the menu but we stick with the ice cream and it's definitely 5 stars. read more

There are many flavors you will recognize and others like tropical fruits more familiar to the Latin/Caribbean community. But even then, there are others I'd never heard of or seen -- angels kiss anyone? Two type of vanilla -- one white and one yellow.... He originally wanted a banana split, but she explained that it was huge and showed him the size of the container. He wound up getting a small dish of banana with chocolate. It had chunks of banana in it as well as chocolate chunks all in a banana flavored ice cream base. I just got their fresh fruit coconut palleta -- the one with out cream. It was icy cold and full of coconut pieces. You order and pay from one of the windows. Been coming here for years but never have I ever met such an incipient person like the women today I explained what I wanted on my 3 Ice creams she said everything I wanted was extra which I didn't mind. She did the first ice cream wrong and I told her she forgot a topping she said no after I was told to pay extra MADLY she added the topping I asked for a cup to put it in she said NO. I asked why if she had them right behind her she said NO because she didn't what too. She then said It'd be extra for the cup. To sum it up she was trying to charge me $10 for a $5 ice cream. This place is fantastic! It was the first time I've ever had real sprinkles. They tasted like tiny pieces of hard candy, very delicious. Nothing like that wax stuff they sell everywhere else. This is hands down the best ice cream I ever had. I decided to try a banana split ice cream dish. This thing was ridiculous. Three people could eat this thing comfortably. I choose coconut, white vanilla (there are two types of vanilla ice cream. Yellow vanilla is made with butter cream, while white is not) and strawberry flavors. The coconut had pieces of coconut flakes in it. The strawberries ice cream tasted like fresh strawberries and cream blended together. It was like nothing I ever tasted before. I also had this refreshing fruit smoothie drink while the attendant made our sundae. It had fresh pieces of watermelon, apples, bananas and strawberries mixed in frothy goodness in a cup. I was upset that I only got a small cup of it. I really didn't want this drink to end. Yeahhh, it was that good. I went on a Monday night thinking they would be slow but they were packed! There is no indoor seating. It's just a stand with 3 or 4 picnic tables with umbrellas. Parking is a very tight squeeze. Twice, I almost got into a car accident all on the same night. If I could give this place a zero I would, lines way too long and not enough staff. Waited 15 minutes for a smoothie and at the end it wasn't a made with real fruited it was just ice cream mixed with ice. Really bad service I would never go back to that place. Whenever I drive by i always see tons of people lined up. So curiosity in hand I went her with my guy and my little girl. I had ice-cream and a coconut shake. I've determined that this place is always packed because it's a hangout spot. The prices are not competitive for what you get and the shake was just ok. The eating are really isn't clean and it's on the main rd facing congress and that street can bve really busy sometimes. Also the service was very slow. Not impressed, won't be back. read more

i have been coming to this place for years. and ever since the management changed it's gone downhill. i usually like to give them the benefit of the doubt since they're a small business but not today. i have always ordered their strawberry agua fresca and there's days where it tastes spoiled and i dont have it in my heart to go back and tell them, but today i finally worked up the courage. i let the lady know my agua fresca tasted spoiled and she immediately started denying it and claiming the agua was made fresh that day (it can't be fresh if they're delivered imo) and tried to validate it with saying she had sold another one previously to the man at the other window( i heard him order a fruit agua fresca, so there's a lie) so i told her that it wasn't good and asked her nicely if she could swap it out for another menu item and she said no because it's a loss in money and i asked her if i could have the owners card or anything to speak to someone else since she wasn't budging. she told me the owner lives in mexico and i had asked her for a manager and she proceeded to tell me it was her. i let her know that if i were to get sick i'd come back and she'd be in big trouble or i'd have to sue. i have a serv safe certification which is a food safety & handling certification so i know when something doesn't taste right your health could be in jeopardy. as soon as i mentioned getting sick she then proceeded to throw $11 in cash at me and told me i had an ugly face. safe to say i won't be taking my business back here. what a shame, i've been a loyal customer for years. i hope the management changes. read more

I've passed this place hundreds of times and there's always a line. I finally caved yesterday after a yummy lunch of taco truck tacos. The hardest part? Deciding on what flavor to order. The most intriguing out of the ice pops was the hot mango or hot pineapple ones. Fruit pops with chili in them. Saved those for the next trip as I had ice cream on my mind. The ice cream flavors had your standards, chocolate, vanilla, etc. What intrigued us the most was the pine nut, cheese, Walnut, cheesecake flavors. Once I saw the neon green pistachio though, I was sold. I saw whole chunks of actual pistachios poking from the bright green mounds in others cups and I knew I needed that. I chose pine nut (unnaturally sherbert orange in color, yet intoxicating in flavor). I topped this with a scoop of that nuclear green pistachio and challenged by bodies stores of lactase. This ice cream was so fresh, so creamy and sweet. There was no ice chips or stale tastes... You could tell this was no old ice cream! My compadres had the cheese flavor (sweet, mild and slightly gritty in that fresh crumbled cheese way with a slight saltiness. Better than expected but not my thing. Strawberry cheesecake was ordered as well but I refrained from tasting as cheesecake and I have yet to make our peace We all ordered medium sized cups, and I warn you if you do the same, come hungry! None of us actually finished our portions. At $4.00 a medium cup, the amount of ice cream portioned out is generous and enough for two to share really. The server was friendly and did his best with his basic English and our piss poor Spanish to answer questions. You don't need to be able to speak Spanish to come here, just be prepared to Google one or two of the flavors. Our server excitedly brought us a sample of rum raisin, which I'm suspicious you might need to be over 21 to eat. Lol it was full of rum flavor and moist plump raisins in each bite! While waiting on line, we saw some amazing Ice cream sundaes walk by. I vow to return for one of those in the near future so I can try the walnut and coffee ice cream! read more
