I love ice cream! It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when I was walking along Lake Avenue and spied the Ice Cream Affair and I knew it was time for an ice cream treat. The shop was clean, and the young girls working were welcoming. There's a lot of artwork on the walls. There's a few tables inside as well as outside. They have two sinks, including a cute kid-sized one for washing before or after your ice cream. They have a lot of flavors making for a difficult decision, but samples were pleasantly provided. I opted for the garbage dump which included chunks of seven different candies. The ice cream was good and the price was as expected. read more

Cute little ice cream spot for a quick treat. Sadly, 3 flavors were not available that we wanted to try, so I was a bit disappointed. I went with the single scoop pistachio, and it was ok. Great location for a sweet treat after stuffing myself on sushi. Lots of flavors, but I went with an old standby (Rum Raisin) served as an ice cream sandwich between two big chocolate chip cookies, and it was a great choice. It was a cool night in Lake Worth and we'd just finished eating at TooJays. We were the only ones in town craving ice cream apparently and had the place to ourselves. Two friendly ice cream scoopers greeted us and offered samples if we wanted! So many choices - all wonderful - how to decide? Too bad for those who didn't show up because the ice cream was fabulous! We know our way around a cup of ice cream and we were all dazzled by how excellent it was. I had the peanut butter and It was creamy and flavorful. Don had the triple chocolate and he loved it. It was filled with fudge and brownies. He was excited by all the chocolate choices and he picked the most decadent option. Roger had the praline which was also enjoyed. The dairy-free vanilla fudge could have had more fudge, I was told. What a find! We'll definitely be returning often! read more

There were two younger women working here and they were both so nice! They offer samples and the ice cream is really good. It was a small place with nice tables and a clean bathroom. Unfortunately the sink in the bathroom was broken but they do have a handwashing sink available near the entrance. I had raspberry truffle and insta-graham in a waffle bowl and I enjoyed them. Great ice cream but rude girl and rude manager give it a 0. Came in during festival, my 4 year old wanted ice cream and my 35 week pregnant wife had to use the restroom. She asks grey sweatshirt who seems to get a pleasure telling people no today(as the sign states), but she's pregnant and her stomach is huge. She told us to ask the manager. There is both indoor and outdoor seating along the main road so you can people watch. For 10 years downtown Lake Worth used to have a Kilwins on Lake Avenue until it closed in 2018 and moved to the beach. Within two months of Kilwins closing, Ice Cream Affair opened a few doors down from where the Kilwins used to be in the space formerly occupied by State Senator Jeff Clemens office. I popped in during the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival to check them out. I am glad that there is still a place to get ice cream because I always used to buy my daughter a cone during the festival. My first impression was that the shop was pretty basic. In addition to the ice cream, Kilwins sold all sorts of hand made candy and treats. It was more like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The line at Ice Cream Affair was long due to the festival but the young staff really worked hard to get everyone through the line. They even handed out menus to people on line so they could check out the flavors before ordering to make the line move faster. I checked out the flavors and they had all the usual suspects. butter pecan, vanilla, Captain's chocolate ,strawberry. Mexican hot chocolate, cookies and cream, pistachio, and birthday cake are all on the menu along with more interesting sounding flavors like garbage can and Superman. As long as they have mint chocolate chip, and they did, I am fine. Two scoops in a waffle cone will set you back seven dollars and change. They also sell ice cream sandwiches. Ice Cream Affair isn't the fanciest of places but it gets the job done. read more

It's so challenging to be a teenager these days. What with having to take selfies and post them on so many different social media platforms can be rather challenging. Especially when you have to work a part-time job at an ice cream shop and you've got somebody this called in an order from Uber eats. That order wants not one but two identical banana Splits. So much work, so overwhelmed, and I still haven't posted that last selfie I just took in front of the new ice cream flavor we had to come in. This is my idea of what's going through the teenagers mind whilst trying to prepare my order. Through Uber eats, we ordered two banana splits got charge for two of them, and only one arrived. I called the store to inquire about it. It sounded like there's about 15 teenage girls in the background talking which means are probably only three. The Ice Cream Affair is downtown Lake Worth's latest iteration of an ice cream shop. Location, location, location; it makes sense to stop in if you happen to be downtown already. They carry a freezer full of ice-cream sandwiches- easy to grab and eat if you are hanging in the vicinity. The store is nicely designed, with a tin ceiling, blue wallpaper and fake wrought iron tables. There are two separate small tables for children, and in the front of the store a child-size sink and adult sink for hand-washing. The flavors are run-of-the-mill, your normal fare. My son didn't care for the samples of insanely artificially-colored flavors that appeal to children, so we went with the ice cream sandwiches, pretty good chocolate chip cookies with an ample amount of ice cream inside. My son was satisfied with a few bites of one stuffed with vanilla ice cream and rainbow sprinkles on the sides. Mine was filled with raspberry truffle, but the flavors of this were lost inside the cookies. My son's was definitely better! The Ice Cream Affair suffers from a severe lack of information. There is nothing that I could see that tells us anything about why the store is there, who owns it, or- most importantly- what ingredients they use! I wouldn't visit here again without knowing this pretty important factor about their products, despite the kid-friendly atmosphere. The young staff members were very nice while ordering, but after that, they went back into hangout mode with each other and with their friends who came in to the store. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it isn't the environment I personally (as a no-longer-teenager) want to be in. We were looking for some ice cream after dinner in downtown Lake Worth and someone suggested we try this place. As we approached the store, we weren't even sure they were open because it was not well lit and there were no signs in the window (just a lot of condensation). They offer a pretty large selection of ice creams from the Ice Cream Club, which has a decent product. The flavor name plates on the the freezer case were very descriptive. And the helpful employee offered us sample tastes. (Haven't seen that since the start of the Covid pandemic!) I enjoyed a cup of cookies & cream, which was full of oreo cookies. My husband had the raspberry cheesecake, which had a very limited amount of raspberry in it. A single scoop is $5. This seemed reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised when the employee asked what toppings we wanted as we didn't know this price included two toppings. Woo hoo! The decor was not particularly inviting but we sat for a bit anyway to enjoy our treats. Overall, this is a decent ice cream shop and we were glad to find it in light of the closure of Kilwins. We'll be back when we're in the area, and we hope other people will stop by too to help ensure they are successful. read more

There are a few tables outside and inside they have adult and child sized tables, sinks, and even toilets. There are ice cream sandwiches you can grab to go made with Publix cookies. The service was great. I tried a few flavors before deciding on the Calypso Crunch. I ordered the 1 scoop which comes in a tiny cup that feels like it's not much but it was perfect for me. It was creamy and had good amounts of yumminess inside. (Peanut butter, chocolate covered pretzels.. YUM!) It is your basic ice cream shop.... no frills. This place has been there only a matter of weeks. It is in a heavily walked area of downtown Lake Worth. In some ways it is not Lake Worth at all, as it is neat clean and pleasing to be in. One quite eclectic element is sinks for handwashing, one adult and one toddler sized. I believe all they sell is ice cream at this time. They are the usual and my selection was very good. My husband and I decided to head up to Lake a Worth for a change of scenery to walk around on a Sunday with our newborn. We've walked passed this place before and we're enticed by the sign outside but hadn't walked in because I didn't think they'd have any non-dairy options. Well yesterday we were feeling adventurous and decided to stop in and ask anyways since we weren't planning on eating dinner anytime soon. To my surprise, they actually had quite a few non-dairy options - and they were just sorbets! We were able to sample the flavors of choice and I decided on 1 scoop of the Coffee Almond Fudge in a Sugar Cone. My husband decided on 2 scoops, Chocolate Peanut Butter & vanilla in a cup which comes with two free toppings. He chose mixed nuts (which seemed to be just crushed peanuts) and crushed Oreos. Both were a good choice because I thought his ice cream needed a little something; being non-dairy it was a little icy for my preference and not really creamy - hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I'm not sure if the 1 scoop I got was quite worth $5 but when in Rome... we enjoyed the ice cream as we continued our stroll around Lake Worth. I'm sure we'll be back in the near future. Ice cream is good, service needs attention. I go there on a weekly basis at night time, there seems to always be two girls working, however only one of them takes care of customers while the other one is running around cleaning and doing other tasks. Customers should come first and shouldn't have to wait more than needed because one employee doesn't want to jump in and help his co-worker, this has happened many times with 3-4 people ahead of me, last visit was 3/4/22 around 9pm. Cute and clean. This place has great ice cream & creative flavors. I wouldn't waste money on the sundae- very sparse on the hot fudge - McDonalds gives you more fudge!! And not especially generous on the dry toppings either. Staff is friendly and our group of ladies were not rushed out when we were enjoying conversation after our ice cream.
