Asada on the left. Al pastor on the right. Cucumbers pushed off to the side haha
    Sarah Y.

I had the carne asada and al pastor tacos along with a horchata when I went. They were both delicious. The tacos are slightly larger than the typical street taco I'm used to but I'm not complaining. It seemed their tortillas are handmade? It had a nice crisp to it from the flat top. But the oddest thing was the addition of cucumbers to the tacos along with your typical onion and cilantro toppings. The addition of cucumbers weren't bad but it didn't elevate the taco for me either. The horchata was sweet and slightly tangier than the ones I like, but still yummy. The inside has about 5 or 6 tables and I can see it getting pretty crowded with just a few people. But the service was quick and friendly. Luckily I can read and understand some Spanish because their menu took me a min to understand. My only recommendation would be to make the descriptions under the items a tad more clear for the english readers. But they did have a number of pictures to help! I will definitely go back and try more food here with someone else so we can order more things to try.

Carne Asada Carmalita Fries. Ohhhhh so amazing!!

They have CARNE ASADA FRIES!!!! Yes you heard me right. They call them carmalita fries. Just order them with steak. For my review. I have had: Carmalita fries(asada topped) these are amazing. Pile of crinkle cut fries loaded with all kinds of toppings. (Choice of meat) Cheese sauce, special sauce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole sauce. I am sure I am probably missing something else. Hands down my favorite thing. The only catch, the asada is not as tender as a few other taco trucks around. Overall, this dish is the best. The tacos are standard taco truck tacos. The chicken is terrific. Tacos Fritos are delicious. Basically crispy tacos. I didn't care for the chicken enchiladas. They looked amazing but were very bland. I would not order these again. Overall, I am very happy with this new food truck. If they perfect their carne asada, this will definitely be a 5 star truck.

Saw this food truck near the Air Force base for a bit and we had someone try it and say it was pretty good. We went on a weekend and got the Carmelita fries and three tacos. The Carmelita fries with carne asada were very good. I am a saucey loving person and these fries were smothered in some good flavors. They didn't have their avocado green sauce this time but I am sure that would have made the fries that much better. The meat was flavorful and tender. I also got two chicken tacos and a el pastor taco. They cake topped with onions and cilantro which had very good flavors on them. I would say it's comparable to the las lupitas on remount for the chicken tacos, a place that I like a lot. This place is much closer so I'll probably be frequenting it a lot more, especially for the fries which remind me of the Cuban fries from Cuban gypsy pantry food truck without pickles. Overall a pretty good place to eat at and they have an A food eating which is always good to see with a food truck.

Fantastic place to eat. We got the quesadilla and the carmelitas fries. Both were good but the fries were outstanding. They cook by order. The soft tacos aren't any good. Great place.

Great find!! Authentic Mexican food close to the airport. So far I've just ordered based off what other people are eating & it's all been amazing. Highly recommend for a quick lunch.

It's a bit of a drive to get there from downtown or Mt Pleasant but oh my god, it is entirely worth it. There was just one person running the entire front of the restaurant, waiting every table, bringing out all of the food, and handling the checks. She was fantastic and the service was great. We ordered in Spanish (the best we could) and everything turned out well, but the menu is in both English and Spanish so you could just point to the things you want. I had the enchiladas which were amazing, highly recommend. Also ask for a flavored water (agua fresca), they had pineapple, cucumber and lime, and tamarin. The pineapple water (agua fresca de piña) was so good! This place is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look like much on the outside but don't judge a book by its cover, it's the best Mexican restaurant in Charleston!

On our way to the airport one weekend, we saw the sign for what appeared to be a new restaurant in town, the family was hungry and we decided to give it a shot. Not expecting much, we ordered some authentic Mexican dishes: Lamb Barbacoa. Chilaquiles, Enchiladas and Horchata and Cucumber waters.... boy, were we so pleasantly surprised!!!!! FINALLY; delicious, fresh and truly authentic Mexican dishes!! For once everyone, wife, toddlers, teenage son, mother in law and I unanimously agreed, we're so delighted with this place that we have made it our go-to weekend breakfast spot. Service is super friendly, portions are generous, prices are fair. We hope this place keeps the great quality of the food for years to come. Congratulations to the chef, cooks and staff, all of you succeeded in making us feel at home.

Pollo Loko - North Charleston, SC…read more The wife and I stopped into Pollo Loko for a quick lunch, not expecting much... and wow, what a surprise this place turned out to be. First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.

This is a fast casual style restaurant and not a real fancy place. My picky colleague who's never had peruvian ordered the ribs. Quesadiladas - you get 2 in an order and these are different than Mexican ones since they have grilled bell peppers and onions. A bit pricy too...the rice and beans that come with this are just average. They only had 2 salsas for the table, a green ranch like one and a red spicy one similar to a spicy Mexican red sauce. I'm still looking for a peruvian restaurant that has the spicy green sauce that most all peruvian restaurants have in California.
